This does look incredible- the reflections and shadows are standouts. However, I think it goes against the art/stylistic direction of Insomniac’s Spider-Man, so while it looks phenomenal, I prefer the look of the second game. Great job though!

@@5LAY3R The point is that cold colours psychologically make things more serious and heavy-hearted, when Spider-Man is all about being a friendly hero. Why do you think Li's negative zone is only cold colours, the complete opposite of the rest of the game? The point is the gameplay feel, not realism. You can probably tell that ultimate realism wasn't the goal when designing a game about superheroes.
These are the sort of web-swinging and movement animations I hope we have in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. And THAT smooth, too👌🏼🙏🏼

The swinging made so much sense in this. When the first swing came through you went so much higher out of it than other jumps that was nice

@timfail8561 No, it's not. If you jump off the highest point, you'll have the same swing and momentum as if you jumped from a 3-story building. The physics in the game don't make sense, i hope they fixed it in Spiderman 2

As a playstation gamer this is one of the main reasons i was happy that this game released on pc
me too i never played it till it went to pc and i am using a mod where someone ported the black suit from 2 into the first game

I was going to reply without watching to tell you that's exactly how it should be. But after watching I realised how bad it is... Not every building should be a mirror, the gloom/glow seems to be somewhat okay, shadows are a little weird.. from a vantage point, the city look real, but when traversing you notice every window looks the same. They need to make the windows randomised reflection but set clamp values so that one window isn't Reflective while the next is full reflections. So don't add max reflection.
Assuming max ref = 1 and minimum = 0.
Clamp so that it's minimum 0.2 so all windows will reflect atleast slightly, max 0.7/0.8 so they won't be fully reflective.
The color LUT is superior though, you gotta admit. The base game is very orangy for some reason.
Lmao, delusional modders. Always thinking that more reflections are better graphics. Its the same with the GTA mods where the entire roads are just soaked so the neon lights can reflect in the massive puddles.
Fr always disappointed when either this or gta focus to much on one thing and call it the ultra mega super life 2.0 mod

I think everything is fine, no, rather, fantastic, but I think it would improve even more if you added a warmer color palette and with a more central position of the sun.

Honestly, looks bad. The sun is out, but everything is just gray. It also seems to break the indirect (precomputed) global illumination? I don't know what's going on there. The reflections are also just low resolution cube maps. The game features RT, yet all I'm seeing is highly inaccurate cube maps. Wtf.

I think this could work as art-style for different Spider-Man game, but not the current Insomniac one, it is still pretty great and it reminds me of background city in Madoka Magica or Mirror's Edge games.
As an animator i think its pretty good but there is still one thing missing that is "Reflection" means when you are swinging there should of reflection of spiderman on buildings while swinging it will make game more realistic as the building glasses are shining very mcuh so at least we can except the reflection from that, and I think Developers should focus on that. Well I am in no place to say that but as animator it's just my Opinion. If anyone didn't like it then I am Sorry for that.

This kinda fits more with the Arkham franchise, although it'd be really cool to see this in a darker-toned spider man game if they decided to make one.

I hate it. Every surface feels like someone polished it until they saw their forehead and it’s horrible, not every glass needs to be super reflective.

To be honest, with the atmosphere looking like this, it just makes the game boring at some point. I'm not saying it looks bad or anything but having the coloring more vibrant could make the game more exciting.
