The way this video is structured makes it seem like Spidey just keeps calling Yuri every five minutes to see if they've taken him down. Which is so in character and hilarious
I think it would be really cool to just have a mod where all the swings that exist in this game now are all combined into one swinging session while free roaming
That's what I was thinking, but then again, I had to realize that the file size for this game would probably be even larger had it had to choose from more complex/more varied swinging animations. Maybe I'm wrong (I hope I am), but I have the feeling that that's the main reason the swings were not as varied as they could've bern in the first place. Plus, if it's anything like Miles Morales, there'd need to be some additional algorithm in there , or whatever technique they use, that makes the transition from one animation to the next almost seamless - and the method to do that probably requires even more memory/file size when applied over this many swing styles. Still, deep down, I would have to agree that we're all hoping insomniac makes this part of the base game somehow - even if it may mean a file size of over 100gb.
@@Doubel i doubt it would make it too much bigger, as this is super similar to what miles morales does and that game isn’t much bigger than the first one as far as i know. the sequel will most likely have both this and a more integrated tricks system like in miles morales. the thing making it bigger would probably just be the fact they have to do all that for 2 characters assumedly, but even then games these days don’t mind being as big as necessary. some of the biggest games of the past few years have been over 100gb so i doubt it’s a concern.
THE SPEED OF THE LAST ONE.. Aaah that is what i always wished the game had.. Diving off a huge building to get literally 0 speed always felt so clunky and awful imo.. But man, the increased swing and overall speed you can get is amazing on the last one.. Video about animations, i liked the speed increase the most lol..
Im not fully sure on this but im pretty sure the reasoning for the low speed when diving was because the ps4 couldnt handle the power of just loading stuff in that quick or something along the lines of that, but the ps5 and pc version seems to have no problem in that regard when diving, I never played the pc version though so I have no idea
@@straivalist8281 I think it's just game design more than limitations. They have to make the game suitable for everyone to play regardless of their skill while also making the game environment readable and vital information in the world digestible so that players don't miss anything while zipping by. So if spiderman went too fast then that'd make it harder to get a handle on what should be the most fundamental mechanic in the game. They probably could've added in a speed increase mechanic as an upgrade later in the game but maybe didn't want to tamper with what they already spent so much time working on. Just a guess though.
@@hangry3102 No, this for a certain I'm sure cause they stated that it was cause of hardware limitations of the ps4 that after the dive everything was much slower, plus it wouldn't make sense for them to just remove that "slowdown" and add speed in the ps5 and pc versions of the game and I played the ps5 version and there is no slow input happening after a dive so I'm very certain that it was just because the ps4 couldn't handle some aspect of it
You seem to have applied the frequent web climbing version of the mod for Expressive Animations, it feels so goofy when shown off so commonly, especially when Spidey really doesn't need to climb the web at low altitudes and such
@@airdecisive618 the game isn't about a beginner Spidey though and it's unfair to compare this mod against other mods and the regular swinging animation set because most of them are based around a mature and experienced Spiderman (except for the miles animation mod which just ports all of miles's animations over Peter's)

All i want is when spiderman gets low enough on the street he still has his web out but hes running with it only to jump from the street to continue the swing
The improved Peter (even if it feels kind of repetitive) and the Raimi Resolute were my favorites. Those ones just feels correct. But if this swings could reach the speed of the last one would be the cherry on the top.
The MCU Spider-Man swinging mod was pretty interesting, not many people would really see it the way a few others like myself would, but if you notice one of the tricks he does after exiting the web swing is a series of barrel rolls in a near horizontal fashion with his arms down and palms facing his feet (or if you wanna call it extending his wrists outward). This is actually a trick variation called the "Iron Man" because of the way your body is posed in the way that Iron Man does when he flies. This trick in real life is fairly common to see when people are adding variations to their tricks whilst flipping around and I just thought that was a pretty neat detail to add in the MCU mod.
I'd love to see an update of the old Spider-Man 2 swinging mechanics. It was basically manual webswinging where the right trigger/shoulder controlled Spidey's right shooter and the left trigger/shoulder controlled Spidey's left shooter. I remember there being a bit of a learning curve but there was an option for a more automated experience for people who struggled with it. A new version with modern, context sensitive animations could be really cool.

That's the first proper open world game where you could go from the ground to the tallest building, where webs stuck to buildings rather than thin air and had a pendulum swinging mechanic, one that you could switch to manual to control the left and right webs shooters individually.
You’re combining the two bud. Spider-Man 2 did all the thins you’re talking about but only R2 controlled the swinging- Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the game that introduced R2/L2 swinging.

The Expressive Swinging has the web climb like in Ultimate Spider-Man and It's how I Imagine 616 Peter to swing as well. Loved the MCU and Raimi ones as well. Very fluid animations that are true to their respective counterparts.
Random thought: A Spider-Man Game where various actions and decision in story/missions trigger different Swing animation styles. Similar to How CJ changes his Dialogue Package based on How you play GTA San Andreas.

For me, it'd have to be a best-of between the Improved Peter Swing Style and MCU animations. They have a perfect combination of professional and freestyle energies, but some of the MCU animation choices in particular are glaringly iffy, and I wish they could be replaced outright. Like the jump twirl at 1:56 I genuinely think looks awful.
WOS swinging mod is just a godsend for me cause I played it to death and my fingers still remember its swing mechanics so I on instinct press spacebar at the apex of the swing expecting a speed boost, but Spidey just releases the web and drops his speed which DRIVES ME INSANE! its like an intense itch you can't scratch. Finally I can scratch it.
In my opinion, the best mod is MCU Animations, plus it suits this beginning a lot! (Notes: I'm from Brazil 🇧🇷,Sorry if I make some mistakes, I'm using a translator!
It would be cool if the next spiderman game had a manual swinging mode where you can choose the web swinging attach points. I think it would be satisfying to get good at it. Maybe it could work similarly to how you choose web zip attach points
@Nostalgia Gaming Adventures[NGA] maybe, have you tried the web slinging gloves on Fortnite? I feel like it did swinging great. To be fair, it was at slower speeds.
I think the problem with these is that most of the animations are supposed to be rarer/only happen during certain trick combos, so they kinda lose their flavor when you see them that often. Like I think the web climbing is cool, but it just happens too often. Another example is I keep noticing a trick that Miles does when you dive, hold left or right, and then swing. It's a special animation that ONLY happens when you do that, so naturally you're not gonna see it very often unless you do that specific trick over and over. With this mod, it keeps happening every few swings, which makes it lose its impact.
I wonder if they'll ever bring back the Spider-Man 2: The Movie style of swinging? The one where he would monkey branch to a different webline before letting go of the last line. That felt more comic-book authentic. I know it was also harder for some people to get the hang of but, it was much more fun to me.
I don't understand when I had the part with the intro music I got my vid muted by the band supposedly but i've never seen this happen to anyone else and yours is clearly untouched!
I've used the Wos swinging and its alright it's just they the webs feel really short and u have to release really quickly but it feels really good bc of the speed u get
I know this might be asking a lot from the devs. However, I think it would be cool if we had maybe had three different swing styles we could pic from and maybe even mix match. Idk how you would do that and how complicated that would be. Though its just an idea. Love the games they have made though, and i bet the 3rd one will be an improvement on the other 2 spider-man games.
I need to learn how to remake some of these mods. Still don't feel like some of them fit TASM2 fully, either too much expressiveness from Miles that look silly, or that it takes away some of the base animations that was already inspired by TASM2.
I agree with most of the comments here Peter is more of a character who is experienced over the years with his powers with more assertiveness. The biggest thing you’re leaving out that keeps him from being at peak power is that he typically holds back. Especially when it comes to his strength. If he didn’t hold back he’d tear his enemies apart. Quite literally. I believe this character trait should be shown within his swinging traversals. During the Back in Black story line he was pissed off enough that he wasn’t afraid of hurting people. He wanted information and he wanted it now. So he went through the bad guys like they were made of tissue paper. And that’s just at his normal power levels. Even with his “standard” level of power Spider-Man is incredibly powerful. Honestly, most of his villains shouldn’t even be exercise for him. However, during The Other: Evolve or Die storyline his powers were enhanced. According to that story he never fully accepted the “gift” of his powers. He only scratched the surface and was afraid to look too closely. After he died and was reborn he was faster and stronger. He also had new powers like stingers that pop out of his wrists, night vision, and all his senses were enhanced as well. If we use this version of Spider-Man and combine it with him not holding back? Oh man, that would be something to see. There’d only be a handful of characters who would be capable of standing up against him. Hulk, Thor, and Juggernaut for sure, but he’d be able to tear through almost anyone else with ease. I think the Raimi Resolute show stronger pizzaz mixed with the MCU Animations is close Expressive Animations swing-type too exaggerated and not perfect as the pulling up of the web is cool (in Expressive ) while he swings but seriously not good for really lower ground moving directional swoops. The falling waving of his hands in the air Oh Gosh NO! He’s already faster than most non-speedster characters. His reflexes are much faster than the majority of characters. Same with his agility. You upgrade his speed even more and add in enhanced spider-sense. Plus stingers? Oh man, I believe his swinging should be separated from Miles having stronger strokes with steady strides but at the same time showing his flexibility within his timings. Not wavy in-air stagers that can potentially look like he can miss a spiderweb line when swinging like an unconfident beginner Miles.
That's the thing, the "holding back" cliche works better for character such as Superman for obvious reasons. I don't think Peter actually pulled his punches in most storylines, it's the inverse, he is usually the underdog and that's the charm. Rhino is physically stronger than him, Dock Ock as well (and maybe more intelligent), Electro is way more powerful, Venom is like his natural enemy, etc.. Spider-Man is always at disadvantage, which is great, he has to come up with creative ways to win the day. When the symbiote plays a role, that's when Spider-Man goes over the top and he starts to beat up people, not because he was "holding back" before, the symbiote gives him a boost. So unlike Miles Morales who receives power ups from nowhere, like if he is a Naruto wannabe, can overpower Rhino with a single punch just because the writer said so, Peter is actually the underdog, he struggles both as a super hero and a civilian, a tragic character
so is no one gonna mention how annoying the swinging is they keep cutting the swing off without him getting any air only doing the fast swings makes him look so abnormal
I like none of these better than the "grounded realness" of the original ones. It just goes so well with the tone of the gmae. Most of these feel like too much.
Within the "real" I like the base game, it looks more cinematographic, I understand that a spiderman is literally not real, but I still want something not as ridiculous as the one from WOS, it really is the one I like the least. The PS4 Spidey makes more sense

The pulling of the web is the 1 part that is missing for me in the vanilla swinging animation. Sadly insomniac has no plans to add it it seems

Ngl raimi resolute looked the best for this spiderman and it looked pretty natural too.
I agree with most of the comments here Peter is more of a character who is experienced over the years with his powers with more assertiveness. The biggest thing you’re leaving out that keeps him from being at peak power is that he typically holds back. Especially when it comes to his strength. If he didn’t hold back he’d tear his enemies apart. Quite literally. I believe this character trait should be shown within his swinging traversals.
During the Back in Black story line he was pissed off enough that he wasn’t afraid of hurting people. He wanted information and he wanted it now. So he went through the bad guys like they were made of tissue paper. And that’s just at his normal power levels. Even with his “standard” level of power Spider-Man is incredibly powerful. Honestly, most of his villains shouldn’t even be exercise for him.
However, during The Other: Evolve or Die storyline his powers were enhanced. According to that story he never fully accepted the “gift” of his powers. He only scratched the surface and was afraid to look too closely. After he died and was reborn he was faster and stronger. He also had new powers like stingers that pop out of his wrists, night vision, and all his senses were enhanced as well.
If we use this version of Spider-Man and combine it with him not holding back? Oh man, that would be something to see. There’d only be a handful of characters who would be capable of standing up against him. Hulk, Thor, and Juggernaut for sure, but he’d be able to tear through almost anyone else with ease. I think the Raimi Resolute show stronger pizzaz mixed with the MCU Animations is close Expressive Animations swing-type too exaggerated and not perfect as the pulling up of the web is cool (in Expressive ) while he swings but seriously not good for really lower ground moving directional swoops. The falling waving of his hands in the air Oh Gosh NO!
He’s already faster than most non-speedster characters. His reflexes are much faster than the majority of characters. Same with his agility. You upgrade his speed even more and add in enhanced spider-sense. Plus stingers? Oh man, I believe his swinging should be separated from Miles having stronger strokes with steady strides but at the same time showing his flexibility within his timings. Not wavy in-air stagers that can potentially look like he can miss a spiderweb line when swinging like an unconfident beginner Miles.
That's the thing, the "holding back" cliche works better for character such as Superman for obvious reasons. I don't think Peter actually pulled his punches in most storylines, it's the inverse, he is usually the underdog and that's the charm. Rhino is physically stronger than him, Dock Ock as well (and maybe more intelligent), Electro is way more powerful, Venom is like his natural enemy, etc.. Spider-Man is always at disadvantage, which is great, he has to come up with creative ways to win the day. When the symbiote plays a role, that's when Spider-Man goes over the top and he starts to beat up people, not because he was "holding back" before, the symbiote gives him a boost. So unlike Miles Morales who receives power ups from nowhere, like if he is a Naruto wannabe, can overpower Rhino with a single punch just because the writer said so, Peter is actually the underdog, he struggles both as a super hero and a civilian, a tragic character
I really want swinging mods but I'm having issues with SMPC.
I like the raimi one the most because it accentuates Peter's feeling of freedom; its kinda like them all put together.
Can you install and use multiple swing mods at the same time?
so is no one gonna mention how annoying the swinging is they keep cutting the swing off without him getting any air only doing the fast swings makes him look so abnormal
Can we Add specific swinging animations for specific suits?
Are there any differences between all these mods?.. (Except miles animations)

I like none of these better than the "grounded realness" of the original ones. It just goes so well with the tone of the gmae. Most of these feel like too much.
Spider superhuman swinging through new York in spandex just screams grounded in realness

Why is it blurry when you web zip and point launch?
Within the "real" I like the base game, it looks more cinematographic, I understand that a spiderman is literally not real, but I still want something not as ridiculous as the one from WOS, it really is the one I like the least. The PS4 Spidey makes more sense
