Love the studio version, but this one is special. Unbelievable talent and whoever was their sound guy deserves a raise.
They could have recorded this version in the studio and it wouldn't even have been as good. This recording is literal magic.
I always held a special place for the original until I first heard this one-the bass meter change towards the back end is insane...... now my fave version

This one of the best live musical recordings ever put to tape. Haunting.
It's literally sucking you into layers in waves- almost like it's getting you high, lol this recording is masterful.
For the "drum solo" section of the live performance, Danny had his tablas instructor (Aloke Dutta) up on stage with him.... Danny would start off playing his tabla samples on his electronic pads, then trading off with Aloke playing his acoustic tablas.
This was a special and unique version of the song that was only played on tour in 1998.

I was 46 when I saw this show, sitting 1/2 way up on the right, mesmerized. Pushit was the highlight of the evening. The climactic ending is still seared into my brain 23 years later. I even got over the shock of MJK strolling out in drag. An unforgettable performance in a very special amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado.
I was at a show in Okc when he did this in drag. I am grateful I was able to watch this live.
It drives me crazy when people say tool shows are boring. He's probably the most entertaining singer I've ever seen. Especially the 3 times I saw them when they were touring for lateralus. I wish like hell I could've seen them during the undertow period. You could've easily convinced me he wasn't human at that point.

You have finally reached one of the best pieces in Tool's portfolio.
So fucking incredible. It does not matter how many times I hear their tunes or see them live....they ALL JUST GET BETTER with each listen. The anticipation is static if not increasingly dramatic. No other band has EVER consistently drawn out my raw emotion like TooL. So grateful I was alive to enjoy them. But make no mistake...they will be the most talk about, combed over rock band for many years after we are all gone. Greatness.

I've been to 11 T00L concerts with the first one being in 1995 and the latest one being in 2019 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and they get more amazing every time.
I got good bumps listening to this again. Saw them in Orlando 2001 and st Louis 2019. Both shows did not dissapoint

This isn't my favorite Tool song, but its usually the one I feel is their best.

I remember sitting in stunned silence after hearing the studio version the first time when album was first released. And this is after hearing 46 & 2 and Jimmy for the first time. I knew then that I was listening to greatness and that Tool were the new standard for a long time to come.
