A nice easy work day for ol 3098. Thank you for taking us along for the ride, Dave! I haven't seen snow like that in quite a while! huge clusters of flakes!
Yes it was Shane, and you are certainly welcome. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Ahh.... the real sound of railroading... clickety-clack, clankety-clang... I just love this!! Thanks so much, Dave!
Glad you enjoyed Henry. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
best way I know to get a visual image to write about and not get cold. Thank you, Dave, for taking me along.
Thank you for the nice comment Shirley. Was great to have you
take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
This was actually a fun ride. Not too long not too short for Perfect. I love the sound of the wheels clicking on the rails and the GoPro catches just the right amount of engine noise all around. It was fun thank you.
Thank you for the nice comment Bob. Was great to have you
take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
Thank you for opening that door for the clean image. This was VERY cool. Wish I could do this one day. THANK YOU for not setting it to music! It's so relaxing to just hear the sounds of the rails and nature. Thank you thank you thank you.
Oh I did that one time on a time lapse going down track and
got yelled at a lot for the music, people wanted to hear the
track joints clacking CriticoolHit. :-) Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Thanks, Dave, great ride. Now I'm off to make a hot drink. 😊
Hope you get warmed up soon Barry, at least it was warm in
the loco cab....:-) Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Good day to be in the cab for a wile 👍
Yes it was bluecollar! was warm in there. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
I've worked with a few commercial transit railroads, and the SD40-2 seems to be the most versatile locomotive for branch and main lines. Easy to operate.
Yes it is pretty easy to run Russ. There's still a good many of
those old girls still around but the freight RR's prefer the bigger
4,000 HP and above locos now. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
I love snowy grey days, especially in terrain like that. The lay of the land the trees it does it for me. My favorite artist is Robert Kipniss, many of his paintings look like the area you are rolling through in this great video. Ten thousand thumbs up Dave!
Glad you enjoyed Dale and I too like this terrain, snow or when the leaves are on, I like both. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
72 years of growing up on a railroad, I love your show Dave !! Many thanks for the content and memories it brings back.. HooAH !!
Glad you are enjoying the home movies Sgt Bailes. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
You're very welcome.
My favorite part is watching that beautiful snowfall. From sunny Florida. 😊
That was cool seeing the hunters off to the side.
Glad you enjoyed the show Larry. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
As usual Dave you come up with the most interesting videos of your job. Really appreciate the effort that you put in with all of your videos on both channels. Could say that this one is the conductors view.
Thank you for the really nice comment Charles. I've been experimenting with different places to mount my Go Pro since
I have a nice little magnet holder, it does an amazing job of
holding for as small as it is. Glad you could take time out to
ride a little track with me tonight my friend.

Thanks Dave 😊
Your certainly welcome Santafefrank. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me today my friend.
Great view and great sound. Could watch and listen for hours! From the gentle movement of the car you're pushing relative to the locomotive, the rails and ballast are in great shape too.
Glad you enjoyed Rik. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Thanks for the cab ride Dave. I wish I was actually there!
Your welcome and wish you were here too Poowg! Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
I wouldn't be able to resist blasting the horn goin thru the big tunnel 😆
If you were sitting in the cab you would know why they don't do it Aaron, it's quite loud! Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Thank you for sharing your day with us. You're a great guide. Always educational.
Thank you for the nice comment HugsBach and you are certainly
welcome. Appreciate very much your taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.

Thank you for the nice comment Erin, glad you enjoyed.
Appreciate very much your taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
No words needed. The engine and track make all the music.
At least I wasn't dumb enough this time to dub music over the
sound of the tracks John..... :-) Thank you for taking the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
If it isn't Dave the Snow Man!!
And I thought the post office was dedicated!!
I had to put on a sweater while watching this.
Another great one Dave!
LOL..... gotta keep trains running just like delivering the mail,
rain or shine Michael. Hope you're warmed back up by now.....
Really appreciate your joining in with us tonight to take a ride
my friend.
This needs to be looped for a sleep aid. Very relaxing to listen to..
Glad you enjoyed Mike. Was great to have you take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
Thanks for the ride Dave, that was great!
Your certainly welcome Juan, glad you enjoyed. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
I enjoyed the beautiful ride Dave, especially being able to watch from a nice warm couch with my cat asleep to my left and my two dogs to my right, thank you for sharing with us!
Glad you enjoyed Raymond. What a nice combo a cat and 2 dogs by your side. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Dave, I love railroading in the snow too. When I was young, I lived way up north and saw the snow. But for the last 20 plus years, I've lived in the deep south where there is no snow. Thank you for sharing the snow with all of us living in the south!
Glad you enjoyed Rodney and you are very welcome. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Thanks for the ride!
Your certainly welcome Tom. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Smile Dave, it'll be spring soon enough!
Today was first day of spring and it snowed here again Richard,
although it didn't last long. Robins were out walking around
this morning shaking their heads....:-) Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Awesome Ride Dave!!
I didn't know that line actually had a tunnel!!
🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed Ralph and thank you for taking the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
So i looked up careers with Iron Senergy, just out of curiosity, and there you are, front and centre. You’ll be off to Cancun in the corporate jet any day! You’ve certainly earned it.
Well I'll be danged, you're right. I had no idea that was there Jay.
Seems like they ought to give me a bonus for being an exemplary
employee.....LOL Those other 2 guys were train operators, the one
on the far left has retired and the other guy bid on another job.
The one that retired got cancer, very sad, he was a good, good man. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Cold and wet! Thanks for taking us along for the ride! Funnily enough, I feel like I need a hot bowl of soup now! lol
Well someone else wrote in they had to put on a sweater, so
it's okay for that hot bowl of chili or soup TruthProvider.....:-)
We do appreciate your going along on the ride with me tonight
my friend.
Love the sound of jointed rail. Every trip I made to Berlin during the cold war was on East German jointed rail. We were required to make the trip at night. I never slept better. Thanks for the ride Dave!!
Dad asked to go on it to Berlin so that he could do some genealogy work and was turned down. In fact he was told that he could not go within 30 miles of the East German border. Nor could he fly into Berlin. So he had to settle for the sounds on the local Seaboard System/CSX branch. Which compared to Dave's railroad, rocked you to the point where you never would have been able to sleep. I wish that branch was as smooth as Dave's. In 2 years, some of the rail on it will be 100 years old.
@@gravelydon7072 Within our USAF communications group was a small number of techs who had that same restriction of travel. They held a security clearance higher than mine. I could not sit down at the end of the day and talk shop with them over a beer. Your dad was probably in a similar occupational classification. The Reichsbahn wasn't exactly the Japanese bullet train but it was a very relaxing ride. I wish your dad could have taken a trip on it.
CWR has it's benefits and is a lot easier to maintain but you are right, nothing beats the sound of jointed track Darnoldie. I love
the sound too. Glad you enjoyed and thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Thanks for the ride alone nice cold ride for the engineer with the door open
Your welcome Derrick, he's got a heater in front of him....:-)
Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Cool video Dave! This was a good spot for the camera.
Glad you enjoyed it Clineshaunt. I've been experimenting with my
Go Pro trying different places to mount it and different views
of things. Got several other cool videos to show sometime on
riding the loco from various vantage points. Got a magnet mount
for the camera and it's holding power is amazing for a small
magnet. Thanks so much for riding along tonight my friend.
Thanks for the ride Dave!! I love the sound of that SD40-2.
You are certainly welcome Wilbur. Was great to have you take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
Wow. Awesome video. I’m saving this one Dave. I can almost smell the wet sticky snow!
Thx from CA
Thank you for the nice comment P Chris, glad you enjoyed.
Appreciate very much your taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Go, little GO PRO Go! Again, try and find railroading in your face like that😁 Thank you, Dave, for the ride👷♂️⛏️🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲🙋
You are certainly welcome Doug. Was great to have you take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
Sound of jointed rails is one of the best sounds there is!
You are certainly right in that Perttu. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Thanks for the ride Dave!
Your quite welcome 1208 Bug, glad you enjoyed. Thank you
very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Great job, Dave. As always.
I have lived in NYC since 1984 and the only times I drove a truck here were from Mott Haven into GCT and from there to the Brick Arch work at 67th street beneath Park Avenue. Tartaglia in Syracuse built the two hi rails I designed.
Glad you enjoyed Joe. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Thanks for the ride Dave!!
You are certainly welcome Fred. Was great to have you take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.

Dave! I always love going beneath Polecat Hollow! And I-79! This was a great ride! I couldn't see the White Covered Bridge. But I enjoyed staying warm while watching that Greene County snow fly. Thank you so much!

Your certainly welcome Michael, glad you enjoyed. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
I guess you could say that you got some "nosey" camera shots
Boy you hit that one right on the nose Arkay....:-) Glad you could
take the time to visit with us tonight and watch the show my friend.
Oh Man! ❤❤❤ the calm gentle but steady hum from the engine and the elegant clickity-clack of the wheels over the track! so soothing to the soul! thank you for bringing such a wonderful video to us! Cheers Dave and keep up the great work that you do!
Thank you for the nice comment Nathan, glad you enjoyed. Appreciate your taking the time to visit with us and ride
down track with us. May you have a very good day my friend.
There's something very relaxing about the sound of railroad car going over jointed rails!!😂😂
Really glad to hear you enjoyed Robert. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and ride down track with me on the locomotive my friend.
I like this guy. He always looks so happy, and who wouldn't?
Appreciate the kind words Rob. Thanks so much for taking

Thank you Dave. I appreciate what you do for us.
Appreciate the very nice comment P61 and you're welcome. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Looks like a smooth ride!
Most of our track is riding pretty nice Donald. We have a few rough spots here and there, but all in all track is pretty decent.
Thanks for the nice comment and for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Far smoother ride than I had on the local branch. Much of the smoothness there is the result of a tamper operator who cares about his job. Well done Dave!.
Thank you for the nice comment Don. I try to keep my track decent, but with all jointed track it's sometimes a very hard
task to do. Was great to have you take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
The video was fun to watch. Great sound with the wheels hitting the track joints.
Really glad to hear you enjoyed Dave. Thanks so much for taking
the time to visit and ride down track with me on the locomotive
my friend.
Wow that was really cool Dave! Thanks for the ride along -Jenny
Thank you for the nice comment Jenny, glad you enjoyed.
Appreciate very much your riding down track with me my friend.
@@ccrx6700 You are very welcome Dave! Hope all is well with you
Pretty good video Dave. The snow is beautiful, but so happy that Spring is coming. Have a great day my friend! ❤️🙏
Glad you enjoyed Valerie. First day of spring today and it snowed
again, but not much. Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
*_Riders on the storm.._* 🌨❄☃⛄
Hopefully next year we will get a big snow so I can mount
the camera on the loco snow plow.....that will be cool David.
Then you can really say that! I'll even mount it on the regulator
while I plow some snow. Anything for you guys..... :-) Thanks
so much my friend for paying us a visit tonight.
Awesome video,, thanks for the ride ❤

Thank you for the nice comment AlcoPower and glad you enjoyed. Appreciate very much your taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
I'm surprised you didn't use the windshield wipers at all. Thanks for the vid!
The wiper on the conductor's side door doesn't work, in fact
it's not even on there anymore CraftBeerTastic. We normally
only have 1 guy in the cab except when we haul ballast then
there is 2 in there. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
What a smooth ride! Immpressive display of good hard work Dave
Thank you for the nice comment Tom. Was great to have you
take the time to ride along with me on the locomotive my friend.
Dave, the thanks for for watching graphic look cool you should come up with more of them
Your welcome Clark. I've been experimenting with different
view points using the Go Pro and you will see more of this
kind of stuff in the future. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Great video Dave.

A grand day out Dave, thank you
Thank you Ian and glad you enjoyed. Appreciate very much your taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Theres nothing like the sound of those wheels. The movement of those cars kin front arecwuite mesmerising. Back in the day when we had a decent railway here in SA, we were priveledged to have a holiday every year and we would go by train and because Dad worked for SARailways we travelled free once a year anywhere we wanted as long as we did not pass through the same station more than twice. We paid for bedding and meals. Most journeys were overnight and to cuddle down in that comfy bed and listen to the steam loco and later years the diesels and the wheel sounds. Ah man. That was great but now its all gone. Destroyed. So sad. But Dave a big thank you again. Great one.
Great story Bill, I can imagine how cool that would be to travel
over night on a steam train, I've never done it but it would be
awesome. I do hear you on the all gone now, but like my friend
says, everything that has a beginning, has an end. But that doesn't make it any easier when things like that do go. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and ride down track with me on the locomotive my friend.
You never go to work Dave because your love what your doing.
You're right about that Rex, and they even pay me to play with
their high priced toys, imagine that..... :-) Thanks so much my
friend for paying us a visit tonight.
What a fantastic video, thank you! Those jointed rail sounds took me back to years past when I used to eyeball trains on jointed track near our house.
Appreciate the nice comment Bert and glad you enjoyed. Thank you very much for taking the time to visit with us to watch the video my friend.
Great seeing you no matter the weather
Really glad to hear that David. Thanks so much for taking

Thanks for the ride in the snow!
Your very welcome and glad you enjoyed the ride in the snow.
That was one heck of a awesome ride. I do see the track has been repaired well so hopefully it lasts for a long time. Sorry Dave I have not been able to keep up with all the videos. Just very busy times currently in my life.
Thank you SuperMaz, glad you enjoyed. No worries on not
being able to watch all of them, life sometimes gets in the way.
Appreciate very much your taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Growing up my friends and I would walk the train tracks into town to buy comic books. On the way we would sometimes put coins on the tracks then collect the smashed coins on the way back. It was probably illegal to be on the tracks and dangerous but it's a good memory I have.
Every kid living around tracks has probably done that Vince,
I have done it here and I was a grown up! Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Nice clank rhythm while the train travels over that jointed rail
Glad you enjoyed CRoll. Appreciate very much your riding down track with me today my friend.
Hi Dave!! Great video!! Riding a train in the Pennsylvania snow!!

Not going to argue with you on that Joe! I do love my job even if
the weather isn't always kind. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Great trip with excellent camera shots. If I was the engineer I would have been asking if you had been born in a barn the way you kept that door to get those great shots. Have a great weekend my friend.
Glad you enjoyed Lewis. A very famous man 2,000 years ago
was born in a barn so I was in good company ..... :-) Thanks so much for taking the time to ride down track on the locomotive with me today my friend.
Thank you for sharing
Your quite welcome Daniel. Thank you very much for taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
Dave Think the world of you ! Learned more about freight cars . All ever saw was steel to aluminum .
Our original hopper cars we had here were built by Ortner and
were all steel cars Robert. When we got the new aluminum ones
they scrapped the old steel ones. Original ones were painted
blue with the US Steel insignia on them, they were really cool cars to look at.
Great. Just great! I would love to do this
Thank you for the nice comment Dave, glad you enjoyed.
Appreciate very much your taking the time to ride down track with me my friend.
that is therapeutic like ride, i was really noticing the bob and shift along the rail glide trying to figure out how much of what was centripetal forces and lever focal point gravitational shifts between the car and the locomotive. this is probably the best view of it from a stick rail ride i have ever noticed.
the other thing it pointed out is my subwoofer kept cutting out and at first i was like oh wow, i can hear the engine dynamics for the grade shifts....nope....fuse spring for the bass has lost decompression power and i just needed to restretch it.
thanks Dave!
Glad you got your woofer fixed and it wasn't a problem with the loco April Generic.... :-) We have enough problems here as it is.
Appreciate your riding along down track with me and may you
have a most blessed day my friend.
BTW, my wife grew up in New Kensington and we have many family members in that area.. We live in Texas. She loves hearing your Pennsylvania accent....Great Show!!!!!
Really glad to hear she enjoyed it Byron. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit and ride down track with me on the locomotive my friend.
