Worked well for filling up our pool. Water does run slower but works good as long as the sun is out.

😅I can relate to getting up and checking something out...same here, as well putting out the dog. That cracked me up, because we are all so obsessed about trouble shooting this or that with our pools. I have this exact same pool n pump, bought used 3 years ago. Pump works great, hoses started cracking, so today I was actually able to purchase same filter pump, new. I did a double take when I saw the hoses tied up by rope, because i have them sort of resting on an old chair seat😮now that I see, oh! tie them up, I was of course! It's 11:30 pm, dog needs to go out!!😅

I bought this pool 4 years ago and took it up and down 5 times the first month we had it. Not to mention we filled it all 5 times before we had it right. The most important part of this pool is to have the level ground right the 1st time

Good video, you can use skimmer socks with that skimmer so you don’t have to clean the filter as often.
Yes I seen those on Amazon but I think I'm going to make one out of aluminum instead

Are these pumps good to use?
@@tylyn3x they're not the best. Everyone who uses it says they eventually switch to a sand filter with a more powerful pump. It works but I don't think it really is sufficient.
@@Greenday1827 I switched to a sand pump recently. The original was still decent, but more power definitely helps.
I just install this you put the white plug in the other one and put the cover back on it. I bought the Intex 24X52 pool from Academy it came with the sand filter. You can’t go wrong with that filter it’s awesome

I'm going to order one. I've got the same pool and have already bought the intex sand filter system. One thing to note here is that the blue attachment that the skimmer hose connects to is also perfect for connecting a vacuum hose as well.
Hey thank you i bought a vacuum for my pool. It's a little one butt i didn't how to get it to suck up stuffs so i was going get a water hose and put it to the vacuum and let it drain in the yard with a water house but that's a great idea. But which connector is it i hook it too. I'm sorry. Lol

Hey, quick question... We just set up our pool last night it has about 8 inches in it and I’m noticing that I’m having a hard time getting the pole straight at a 90 degree angle? I keep pulling out the bottom of the pole to make it straight but then it kind of creeps back in towards the pool again, or I try to pull out the pole next to it and it undoes the straightening I just did to the previous pole. Will they straighten out or will they say straightened out as more water fills the pool?
Just worry about left to right the water will push poles out as it fills I had same problem water pressure keeps them pushed out
Heather Harty, what he said (left & right is of utmost importance) you'll never level in & out because as you stated the keep fighting one another. The water will even everything out just make absolute sure the poles are inside the vynal straps on the wall 👍🏻
Got the pool 22ft have the same skimmer...it works great in the beginning but then after a while it dosent suck anymore. Water comes barely out. If I take the filter out and clean it it works again for a few minutes and then it repeats. I replaced the filter it didn't help, bad flow after a few minutes again. Don't know where the problem is.
You have to restrict the flow on the other port or get a bigger pump
That skimmer requires an 850 gal/hr minimum flow.
My man, you would save a lot of time and wondering with some installation instructions lol. But, as a male, I understand the temptation to just go for it haha

Ive heard people say the intex skimmer won't fit on the Coleman frame, I cant tell by looking if your top frame is round or oval. Seems like it fit so I dont know what people in the reviews were going on about
It fits fine I'm using still till this day
At first it seems like it doesn’t but try putting it on the side where the liner is not covering the frame it does work I just recently installed mine
How long do you leave the pump on before the pump start to get air in it?
It should only have air in it when you're changing the filter or disconnecting the adapters
How did you get the skimmer to stay in place on the pool rail? Mine keeps popping off from the rails.
It has to be positioned exactly where I put it
When you hook up the skimmer to the first outlet, but then cap the second outlet, aren't you preventing the pool from being filtered? In other words, don't you need the second outlet to filter the pool?
They're supposed to be two inputs one output you have to flip your pump around
What setting do you have your filter on to have it suction with the skimmer?

It's been great no issues I did get a sand filter pump upgrade but I wouldn't want a pool without a skimmer

As long as it's not stressing out the pump certain amount of water needs to flow through the pump put your hand on the pump and see if it's getting hot
How do you clean the filter tho? The water comes out and the plugs don’t fit
You have to pull the plastic screens out inside pool and put plugs in them turn other thing to off
I have the same pool and just bought the skimmer, I’m wondering how you used the water outlet to suck in water because the way ours works is the two identical hoses push out the filtered water and the first bigger hose sucks in the water to be filtered which is where I thought the skimmer would have needed to be installed
Reverse the hoses the big on is out jet two small ones are intake just unscrew both of them from the pump and turn your pump around
@@RayFixesAll oh! I surprisingly just actually found out there’s a way to just unscrew the initial intake cover piece off and that reveals threads that perfectly fits the intex piece for the skimmer but thank you for your response and your video for a way to make it work another way!

@@dlbroo I’ll try to explain as best as I can. We have one inlet sucking in water to the filter and two outlets pushing out filtered water back to the pool. The inlet piece that attaches from the inside of the pool came apart for us. It took a lot of muscle and we had to use two pliers because hand grip wasn’t enough. You have to be careful not to mess up the threads too when you do it. We got it apart though and it exposed threads and the top “cover” piece came off. Those threads you are left with were a fit for the skimmer hose to screw that on so the debris from the skimmer go directly into the filter. Let me know if you need more help and I can try to explain better!

You font need to make the hole bigger and mine sat right down on the other side.
You need a stronger pump unfortunately which is why when u cover one inlet u get more auction from the skimmer. I have the same pool and skimmer but I have the intex sand filter
You can get away with the pump that comes with it but yes I recommend getting a stronger pump 100%
the first one is for the blow up ring pools
The other bigger Hook is it for those inflatable one

Yes it does but I found it getting to dirty switch to a sand filter with this and works way better
The "hoop" mount is for the inflatable pools.

I dont understand how you got this thing to not float upwards. I have the same pool and it just floats upward. I have tried to make it as tight as possible. You dont have anything other than the bracket?
Make the hose longer so it holds it down basically max out the hose
@@RayFixesAll I don't understand. I'm using all the same pieces that came with it. Looks just like yours. Even the same Coleman pool. When I attach it to the pool the whole housing just ends up floating up even with water in it. I even upgraded my pump and filter. Works great weekend I hold it down otherwise ends up sucking air into the system. I tried lowering the thing into the water level but nope.
Is it supposed to float up to stay level with the water line?

We have the same pool and same skimmer. It seems that when we loosened the knob it flowed with the water and didn't just float up. Not the knobs holding the entire thing to the metal pole but the knob the raise or lower the skimmer.
We also had to buy a real pump and filter it cost us about 300 dollars. And in the end it saved us a lot of 💰. Your water needs to be moving. So your will need a 100 amp pump. They don't tell you that the pump that come with the pool is just a temporary one.
How long did you use your pump for mine seams fine I just clean it every two days
@@RayFixesAll I'm in the process of puttin up the same pool. The pump says 2500gph. That's good in your opinion, right? I don't see may videos with the pump that comes with the pool.
@@tylyn3x I haven't had an issue so far just be sure to put a gallon of chlorine a week and clean filter at least once every two days
So the longer hose goes in port A
I don't think it matters there the same hose just different lengths can go on either side

Been watching a bunch of these setups. What I learned so far, the big curved bracket is for the pools with the big inflatable ring around the top. Other thing is that the Intex skimmer requires a minimum of 850 gal/hr and your pump may be undersized. I'd try adding a diy sand filter as a supplemental system.
The video was great until you got to the end with the white plug then whoever was doing the video pretty much missed it all. Thank you for what I did see.

I get it, but it's literally how everything works! Spotify, Pandora, TV, UA-cam, radio ect......
For 18 years I've never ever had luck with any skimmer. They all pop off. No matter what design your pool is the design is flawed. Best to anchor the bottom inside the pool. Use sticky pads on the rail. But even then it will pop off. The design is flawed. It's just not worth burning up the pool pump. Never trust a skimmer.

Intek? Um, Intex. Above water skimmer? Uh, just skimmer. You do NOT need the plugs nor do you need to turn off the valve. Also you don't even need to do EITHER to do this. Where are you afraid the water is going to leak from?
On screws? Um, UNscrews.
Don't mount on the liner? Stop it. That's nonsense. If your liner is installed evenly between the rail connectors, you CAN'T mount it on bare metal anyway. Also, you have the white housing WAY too high. And in the sun it'll eventually form? Huh???????? What are you even talking about.
Access air? Do you mean excess air?
You're supposed to leave the strainer installed in the wall before you purge the air.
And I'm dying at you trying to put the flow restrictor cap on the end of the fixture. Like, duh. Widen the hole? I'm done.
