That tip for removing the wheel turned this into a 2 hour job for me, and I'm a slacker. Thanks man 👊
No problem!!
Dude the wheel tip for the fill hole will come in handy when I do my own flush this weekend thanks for the help love the car!
Thanks for the love! Glad I could help! Let me know if you have any questions!
Finally!
A proper video where its shown to have the car LEVEL ON 4 jacks stands to drain all the old fluid and advising to crack open the Fill bolt FIRST 😊
KUDOS dude!
Regarding using Amsoil, doesn't it state on the bottle not to use it with an LSD which the Si has?
Best tutorial I’ve seen yet. Doing it today 💪
Thanks bro; good luck!
i just picked up my 08 Civic Si so I'm gona follow along to see what your gona do.
Appreciate the support!
Love the car man. I have a black fa5 and bought the Mugen si body kit. But just recently installed the Mugen RR Usdm front bumper. Do you have an Instagram where we can see more of the car ?
Thanks for the love and support man! I’ve always liked the looks of the 8th gen coupe & sedan. But I think the Mugen kit really completes the car. How were you able to the the RR bumper? I just created a Instagram after your suggestion _ShankOEM
@@shankoem I bought the bumper off a guy on OfferUp no grills, and no fog lights. Just the bumper for 50 bucks. But you can buy the whole kit on eBay for 800-1000 I believe. I'm just about to complete the whole kit been buying separately piece by piece but it was a lot cheaper this way haha. It's not to hard to install honestly it's super easy. I'll follow right now. I make edits on friends cars and some of my own
A mechanic told me that amsoil can cause gear slip sooner or later and to only use Honda mtf.
Hey! I haven’t heard or experienced that, I’ve done around 10k now on Amsoil. I actually don’t even have 3rd gear pop out anymore. I hope I don’t experience any slip
@@shankoem it's because of how thin it is... Honda MTF is cheap and it's just great
There's no difference if you change it before the oil breaks down
@@514aamApparently Amsoil is thicker than Honda OEM which causes issues in colder climates.
Also, heard Amsoil shouldn't be used with an LSD like the Si's.
@@yukonstriker1703 oh yeah, for LSD hondas I always use Subaru MTF
Great video thanks buddy I’ll be working on my car tomorrow I hope I do it right ❤, thanks
By the way you asking for a mechanic., please find a good one a lot of them just focus on the money and do shittie work
I brought my car to a mechanic to change front hubs bearings and fucked up one by replacing a bigger bearing in the knuckle, so just the knuckle it self costs 647 dollars
that hurts so much .,
Well good luck on finding a honest and good mechanic budd
Thanks man! Hope you were able to complete this with no issues!
I wonder if you could do the whole job from where you took the wheel off?
As long as you have it jacked up at a even level I don’t see why not
@@shankoem yeah I just did it jacked the car up just enough to get the tire off and reached in and did it that way. Didn't have to even get under it. Maybe I should have made a video lol. Didn't take long at all. Took about 1.7 to 1.8 quarts I believe..fluid was nasty it has a 180 thousand miles don't think it was ever changed!
That’s awesome man! Crazy people don’t do standard maintenance on their cars! I’m almost due for my second change
Hey great video! What was ur biggest challenge in changing the oil?
Hey! Thanks for the feedback! It's a relatively easy job, I think the biggest challenge is just how compact the car is and getting into all the tiny areas to loosen and tighten bolts.
Had that with my jack: purged its air and filled it with jack oil and it reaches max height again.
I’ll have to give it a try
Thanks for the info!
The washers just help seal the plug that's all.
What size washer was for the bolts? Thanks
Part #94109-20000 (Fill Plug) 20mm
Part #94109-14000 (Drain Plug) 14mm
@@shankoem savior
Do you recomend me the Amsoil over the OEM?
I do! I no longer have 3rd gear pop
Do not need to change the transmission oil filter ? ?
Nope! I don’t believe the manual transmission have filters!
Did u use the 5w-30 fluid ?
For the transmission? No Amsoil synchromesh
damn that trans fluid looks like water i know it wasnt but when you touched it, it looked lke water
Haha just looked at it; it does!
Both washers look like a different size. Only finding 18mm drain plug washers . What about the other size? Anyone have a link?
Yup different washers! Part numbers below. You can get them from the dealer
Crush washers:
Part #94109-20000 (Fill Plug) 20mm
Part #94109-14000 (Drain Plug) 14mm
@@shankoem thanks for bringing the exact size!!
@@NesAndres you got it!
@@shankoem Do you know the fill bolt number ?
My boy got a jdm shop lmk if you want more details it’s in the New Brunswick area
Appreciate you brotha! I unfortunately don’t live in NJ anymore!
New Jersey USA is a far drive from New Brunswick Canada 😂😂😂
Do you know anyone selling mugen civic fa5 body?
There’s a few I seen on FB marketplace I’ve seen; sometimes the best opportunity is to DM a owner on IG
What oil viscosity did you use?
5W-30!
@@shankoemIt says to use SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 viscosity on the manual but I’m probably also going to use 5w-30. Thanks brother!
Didn't this car get totald I sweari just saw it on fb market
Nope! Has all VINs
@@shankoem it's nice don't get me wrong another ca4 on fb market place had same wheels and all was being sold and said the old owner changed the front and rear end to an 09 like I said I could be wrong was just curious What wheels are those I've been thinking about getting the same kind but gold
All good bro, no worries at all! These are the stock Mugen GP Wheels 18x8.5
@@shankoem I want them so bad lol
18x 7.5 ..
