Hi guys, we're a couple from Germany. Yesterday we made a trip to Palm Harbor and followed all of your recommendations, including all the food places...and what can I say? It was a fantastic day! So, just wanted to say Thank You! We had such a great time!
Hello Marco! We're so happy to hear that our video helped you to make the most of your day in Palm Harbor! Thank you so much for watching our channel and taking the time to comment.
Wow ! Every week ,I'm like those my new favorite places. Oh my goodness, those pies looked delicious. Great video. Thanks for sharing this video. I can't wait for your next video.Have a wonderful weekend guys.
Well if you guys keep watching, we'll keep giving you more 😄. Thanks so much for watching, guys. We really do hope you get a chance to make it down here sometime soon!
Thanks so much for the kind comment, Ron. We love to help great local businesses any way we can. It helps them out, but also helps to ensure that they will stick around so we can keep enjoying them!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. It was a tradition to go to Palm Harbor every summer in the 80s and 90s when my children were young. We all loved seeing the wildlife in the local parks and it was a good way to stay out of the hot son. I haven't been there in many years so your video brought back some very nice memories. It's a very beautuful area to visit.
We were so impressed by the parks in Palm Harbor. We're glad our video could bring you back, although we do hope you get a chance to visit again for yourself someday!
Thanks, Ramune! It really is a great spot to get out into nature and was a nice change of pace from the busy beaches. And that Aussie pie definitely was delicious!
JJ Gandy's key lime cookies are awesome too! I love the Pig, it's our favorite Florida BBQ too! Our favorite is the sweet & sassy chicken wings and the BBQ cocktail. It's beans, slaw and pulled pork layered in a mason jar. It's the perfect portion size.
Ok next time we stop by we are definitely gonna try the key lime cookies, the wings, and the BBQ cocktail. We really weren't expecting such a great food experience when we visited Palm Harbor, but lately we've been considering going back just for the food! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment, Mindy!
Another amazing beach town, can’t believe you have so many amazing places close to you! The pathways are so nice, loved seeing the cute squirrel, and can’t believe you saw a gator…so close by 😱😅 Oooh, the bbq looked amazing! Jamie said only one brewery 😂 I would tell Craig the same!! This one looks really nice though 🍻
Believe it or not we are FINALLY getting to the point where we are running out of new "day trip" beaches to visit, and we are now going to have to start camping or staying in airbnb's/hotels on our trips. Yeah, visiting just the one brewery was probably for the best. We could barely finish what we ordered after eating all that delicious BBQ!
They were some of the nicest parks we've found in Florida. We were so pleasantly surprised! And the BBQ is definitely worth checking out as well! Thanks for watching, guys!
Aussie pie looks delicious. LOL 'no martini policy', agreed, it is probably for the best. Oh man, so many great looking pies and desserts. We could totally use some waterfront relaxation right about now...still cold and snowy over here. Looks like a really great day of exploring guys!
I don't know what these parks think could possibly go wrong from downing a few martinis before walking around in a snake and gator infested swamp 😅 But yeah, probably for the best! Sorry to hear you guys are still dealing with snow up there, hopefully by now it has all melted away! And we hope you can get some waterfront relaxation in soon! We'll be waterfront this weekend, but not sure if we'll get any relaxation in!
Haha totally necessary signs for Florida. Good call on holding off on the martinis until after you get away from the gators. We always choose to eat outside when possible, great spot to enjoy some delicious pie. Oh man that gator was way too close for comfort... would never try to paddle board there.
You should have gone to Chestnut Park early in the morning. You will see deer and perhaps other wildlife on the north trail. The gators can also be found on the edges of the small bodies of water inside the park. JJGandy? Passed it a million times, never realized it was a retail establishment! Leave it to y'all to show us locals where to go, LOL. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks for watching and for the tips for the next time we make it to the area :) we really enjoyed Palm Harbor. We hope you have had a chance to check out JJGandy's for some delicious pie!
Love the coffee shop. That pie looked delicious and loved there slogan "no coffee no workee" relatable haha lolol I laughed so hard at the no martini sign- that's hilarious! That overlook is gorgeous. This video is making me excited to visit FL soon! Ben's mom just bought a house down there so I bet we will be there relatively often now. Will be fun to explore a new state! However, not sure how ready I am for all the gators like the one's you saw at John Chestnut park. It looked massive! Yikes! But really beautiful trail though. And oh my gosh the key lime pie looked so gooood! And great idea to bring it to the park. Looked like a great day! Will have to check out that BBQ one day :)
Yeah, we both struggle to function in the morning without coffee. That's so exciting that you guys will be getting the opportunity to spend more time down here in FL! Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet up with you guys sometime soon. Key lime pie is everywhere down here, and you'll get used to the gators in no time! 😂
Haha the no martinis sign was too funny. I wouldn't want to be drinking with all of those animal warnings either! The pie slices looked so good - I think I'd have gone for the key lime too. I have never seen an alligator in the wild before - only at a zoo. I would never paddleboard in Florida - I'd be so afraid of the alligators!! lol You have me craving some BBQ now. I've never been to Kansas City or any true BBQ place though - so I have nothing really to compare to. That BBQ platter looked amazing though.
Yeah, in all fairness I don't think I'd want to be walking my dog with all those gators around either 😅 Those pies were so good, and the key lime was a great decision. Key Lime pies are literally everywhere in Florida, but that one was definitely one of the best. You could definitely paddleboad in Florida on a calm day in the gulf. Gators don't do salt water, so you'd be fine. Unless of course you area also afraid of sharks 😂 The BBQ really was great, especially for Florida BBQ standards. But if you ever find yourself in Kansas City, that's the place to get the good stuff!
That strict no martini 🍸 policy is a bummer, but the trail and pier views look worth it! I’m jealous of those pies though! They look so delicious! Great finds guys!
I no, right? I mean what could go wrong from drinking a few martinis and walking around a park full of snakes and gators?! 😅 We can assure you the pies were every bit as delicious as they looked. We wish we would have known about them much earlier!
Good idea to be fuelled with coffee and not alcohol with crocs and snakes around! We love key lime pie, well done for getting just the slices and not a whole pie! 😁 Love all the observation towers here, well done spotting that alligator. How can you paddle board with gators around? 😬
Yeah, Skylar tends to get way too close to the wildlife when he is sober, so drinking at this parking would surely be a bad idea for him 😅. We had one gator experience while paddle boarding a couple of years ago. It was a small gator and it seemed to have no interest in us. But you know that mamma is never too far way. I immediately sat down on my board once I saw the gator to make sure there was no change I fell in the water!
Hey there guys - three cheers for trying an Aussie pie, but as much as we have a lot of spinach and feta around, it's not the typical aussie pie...I wonder how it compares to the ones we get over here. Steak, cheese bacon or topped with mashed potato is really big over there. Matt just had a curry pie on our way home from camping, first time since Birdsville since we had one of those - except they were camel meat..LOL That walk around the Bayou, parks and trails looks amazing, it was such a nice day and the extra platforms are a nice addition to see everything. Not sure I've ever had the opportunity to try the key lime pie, but does sound nice. Maybe you should have taken some marshmallows along and help draw out the alligators, LOL - I thought it was weird but thats what they seem to feed them on the trips I did out of New Orleans. Matt and I both love our BBQ and the pig restaurant looks like somewhere we might want to go. :)
We thought you would enjoy that. We really did enjoy the one we ordered, but the owner told us that we'd have to come back and try the traditional Aussie Pie sometime as well. We definitely plan on it! When we do try it, we'll be sure to let know what's in it. The ones you describe sound pretty amazing! Key lime pies are literally everywhere here in Florida, which is pretty great considering we both (especially Skylar) love them. We've never really had a bad one, but the one we tried in this video may have been the best. I'm not sure if gators eat marshmallows, but I guess there's only one way to find out! 😅 I'd be really curious to try Aussie BBQ to see how it compares to our favorite spots here in the states!
@@Explorcation I can guarantee you that the gaters ate the marshmallows outside of New Orleans...I think I even have a photo of it...I thought it was the weirdest things ever. Yep, let me know if you ever try an aussie pie :) I'll be on the lookout for key lime pies, not sure I've ever seen one here but I'm sure they are around.

I am sorry we don't have much information to share. Thanks so much for watching!
Pies, parks or pigs (BBQ)...what would bring you to Palm Harbor?
Thanks so much for exploring the city with us!

You guys are giving us more and more reasons why we should visit Florida!! Thank you for another great video!
Well if you guys keep watching, we'll keep giving you more 😄. Thanks so much for watching, guys. We really do hope you get a chance to make it down here sometime soon!
This was very informative! Now I have some spots I would like to check out while I’m here .
We're so glad to hear that you found the video to be helpful! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Another fantastic video. I love that you two support local business, and in doing so introduce us to them too. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much for the kind comment, Ron. We love to help great local businesses any way we can. It helps them out, but also helps to ensure that they will stick around so we can keep enjoying them!
Perfect timing! I was looking for exactly this on my trip back from my daughters.
That's awesome, Bob. Glad we could be of assistance!
It looks very beautiful there. Thanks for sharing the video. 👍
It really was a beautiful place and a wonderful nature experience. Thanks so much for watching, Thomas!

Yup, 100% necessary for sure. I can already see the "Florida Man attempts to ride alligator after drinking 5 appletinis" headline 😄
