This is one of the best videos you’ve put out as of late (they’re all great, but this one just hit right). Watching this on a cozy, rainy NY summer day, and feeling transported. 🙂
Thank you so much for this kind and encouraging comment! We always love exploring new beach towns. We're having to travel a bit further now to find ones we've never been to, but it's always worth it!
Barefoot Beach is one our favorite beaches. We used to alternate between Ft. Myers Beach and Bonita Springs, when we lived in Miami. We also enjoyed Lovers Key State Park and rented Kayaks across the street from the park. Thank you for sharing you visit to Bonita Springs and looking forward in planning a stay.
We certainly understand why it's one of your favorites, Francisco! It amazed us how clear and calm the water was on the Bonita Springs beaches. We'll definitely be back!

Bonita Springs is where I fell in love with the west coast of Florida!!! My parents rented a condo, I think right in that same spot where you started this video off, and of course I came to visit on their vacation 😂 I’ve visited that area a few times, then visited a friend in Tampa and fell in love with St Pete. And now I vacation there every year. I was so sad when I saw how damaging Ian was to that area. Mother Nature takes no prisoners and I hope she spares us this year, fingers crossed! Especially since I will be staying on St Pete Beach in October. I love your channel and so enjoy your videos!!! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your story. We're happy to hear you'll be making it down in October to visit. It's such a great time of year down here (when there's not a hurricane). Keeping our fingers crossed for no big ones in Florida this year!

Hi guys! I’m curious how’s the weather in Palm Harbor during the month of October? We usually vacation during that time but not sure if water temps/ swimming will be suitable. Need help😅
Typically the highs are in the 80s and lows are in the 70s or 60s. The gulf water that time of year is usually still pretty warm. We often swim in the gulf into October. It is still hurricane season though, so it can be quite rainy.
@@Explorcation I worked as a bartender at the Island Inn on Sanibel back in 2010. I immediately fell in love with Sanibel and Captiva. You learn to stock up so you only leave the island once a month or so. I loved it! Sadly, Hurricane Ian wiped the original, all wood, Island Inn off the map. They rebuilt, but it'll never be "my" Island Inn.
Hey Guys, in the 1st 10 sec of the video, it shows condo buildings right off the water. Does anyone know the names of these and what beach that is one? please let me know.
Yeah we get that some people don't love it when we hold it, but it's an audio quality thing. Often times when we're dealing with a lot of wind, or loud music, we have to speak directly into the mic in order to make it clear what we're saying (and without getting copyrighted for background music). That said, there are probably times when we just get in the habit of holding it when we could clip it, so we'll try to make sure we're only holding when necessary! We appreciate the feedback!
yep but if you don't live there on the beach, or stay in one of the hotels... the parking is horrible since the hurricane. You gotta get out there very early.
I hope you don't get mad at me for offering unsolicited advice. This is for Skylar, you only get to take your experiences with you. If you're on the fence about whether to pull the trigger (the birds in this case) listen to Jamie.
So, when it comes to wings, like Skylar, I definitely prefer the drummies. The flats are too much work for me, and I think they tend to have more chicken skin, which I'm not a big fan of. Plus, the drummies always tend to have more meat on them.
Exactly. Drummies have more meat, plus I think they are easier to eat as well. I'm with you on the skin thing as well. I'll gladly eat flats all day as well, but it's a pretty easy choice between the two for me!
You're right the drummies do tend to be a bit meatier, which works out for us as Skylar can usually eat more than I can. I like the skin on the flats but only when it is crispy!

@@Explorcation Thank you 😊 this is very helpful and decided to book in warmer weather. Thank you thank you 🙏🏼
@@mandypapageorge129 you're welcome!
Bonita Springs is in my retirement plan. Sanibel or Captiva would be my first pick, but way too pricey, and that toll....
Yeah that toll would get old. Bonita is definitely not a bad plan B! We love that place.
What month was this filmed
June of 2024
Hey Guys, in the 1st 10 sec of the video, it shows condo buildings right off the water. Does anyone know the names of these and what beach that is one? please let me know.
I wish we had that info for ya, Nick, but we do not. Thanks for watching.
I think for you two if you would clip the mic on and not hold it would make a better vid!
Flaties all the way and their blue cheese is the best!!
Yes, the blue cheese is phenomenal!
You guys like a little coffee with your sugar don’t you ? 😂
I "Skylar" like my coffee string with a little cream and a little sugar. Jamie likes hers strong with a LOT of cream and a LOT of sugar 😂
yep but if you don't live there on the beach, or stay in one of the hotels... the parking is horrible since the hurricane. You gotta get out there very early.
Parking did seem to be quite limited. Were there more parking lots prior to the hurricane?
@@Explorcation There was a lot more parking available at Barefoot Beach Preserve before Hurricane Ian that has not reopened.
@@jack-kathyhorsch3792 ahh now that you say it, we do recall driving by parking lots there that had not been re opened in the Preserve.
I hope you don't get mad at me for offering unsolicited advice.
This is for Skylar, you only get to take your experiences with you.
If you're on the fence about whether to pull the trigger (the birds in this case) listen to Jamie.
Whether solicited or unsolicited, advising me to listen to my wife is ALWAYS good advice 😂 Much appreciated!
Are you seeing the sharks off the coast?
We have not spotted any when we have been out and about, but we know they have been around.
I prefer drums and my wife prefers flats. It’s why our marriage has lasted so long
The key to every great marriage is wing compatibility 😂
flat city baby!!!!
yeaa 🙌 I (Jamie) am with ya, thanks for watching!
No se donde filmaron esto pero esto no es bonita springs, estuve ahi hace un dia y la playa esta terrible, es una puercada.
