  • The Grannom Caddis Pupa is a match the hatch fly pattern to imitate the swimming, rising pupal stage of the soon to emerge adult caddisfly. This stage is highly targeted by trout because it's more of a guaranteed meal than the adults that quickly fly off the surface. The shuck on this fly imitates the beginning of this emergence stage. It's a visual trigger for the trout. The Riverfly UV Contrast Dubbing adds to this appearance. The soft-hackled collar imitates legs kicking as the fly swims upwards towards the surface film. Fish this fly during caddis hatches or as a prospecting wet fly. It's especially effective in the spring when this species is most active.
