laughter is actually a pretty common fear/anxiety response.
Yes! When I watched that scene I immediately started laughing before I said wtf. If I was in that situation I probably would have either laughed while running away too, or just shut down, fell on the ground and cried and probably died 😂
My thought exactly, I laugh in uncomfortable situations.
I laugh in serious situations because I'm nervous. Every time I experience something haunted I just go

If you are in a rural area and you hear banshee like screeching, screaming that sounds like a crazy old woman, or an animal being killed, it's probably a fox. It's called a vixen call or vixen scream. They do it mostly during mating season. I've lived near or in woods my entire life and it is THE scariest sound I've ever heard out there... but it's nothing harmful.
Racoons can also sound crazy when they are fighting.
Deer can also make weird, creepy noises at night during rutting season when the bucks are being territorial.
Definitely! And a pack of Coyotes sound like a group of women fighting/laughing/screaming sometimes
Yeah. I used to live right in the woods and clear as day me and my family heard a woman screaming bloody murder "help" but it actually turned out to be a fox
I live in a rural area and for the first time in my life I hear those EXACT screams at 3:00 am and woke me up! Now I know they are from the fox! I have seen a family of foxes near my house but never heard the screams until the other night! I’m just happy it’s not something weird or anything like that! 🥴
As someone who lives in the woods I can confirm this but I find the sounds so funny XD
Mountain lions also sound like a woman's scream. People have sometimes said foxes sound more like kids screaming, but it probably depends on the fox. The barking in the security footage is also probably a fox doing a different sound, called an alert bark! They do it to warn others in their area.
@10:46 if it's not a human it's a fox! They sounds suuuuuper human like and weird when they do their cries. When I was a preteen I was walking my dog after dark and heard a noise that sounded like a girl getting hit by a car and screaming/crying. I was SO convinced it was a human dying that I ran to the nearest house banged on the door and told the woman to call the cops. We later found out it was a fox

I thought that immediately. It’s a fox. Plus living in the country on the border of a wooded forest area growing up sorry animals noises can be unnerving and terribly human. Mountain lions, raccoons, foxes and even deer all make noises that in the dark, alone take on a whole mood and can definitely play on your fears.

That one of the showers turning on by themselves was the creepiest to me. Especially when the hauntings are in bathrooms.
Such a strange place for a spirit to choose to haunt, but maybe they find it fun to turn the water off and on and mess with people.
Demons love bathrooms and dirty places also
Honestly the bathroom hauntings are scariest to me because in the bathroom we’re at our most vulnerable.. like, we’re either using the bathroom, or naked in the shower, or brushing our teeth, and it’s all in close-ish proximity to a mirror, and water, which both have paranormal associations.. just my thoughts tho..

Same here, looked like a cardboard cut out type of thing.
I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought that was a cardboard cutout, or a person in an all black suit thing.
Normally I don't see some of these so good, but I paused it and that's exactly what it looks like lol.
It looked like a silhouette target. They are quite easy to buy/make and probably 95% of hunters would know where to get one. And anyone can hide behind a door and shut it on cue.

That "shadow person" looked like a dude in a dark blue hoodie with his back to the window. Which was VERY clean for an abandoned house in the middle of the woods.
And the barn one... the shuffling around sounds, that sounded like my horses anytime they ate. Moving their food around, their halters hitting the sides of their feed buckets. As for the talking and whistling, I have a hard time believing it wasn't just somebody there
There's an abandoned barn in the woods near my house, it's actually very "well kept" i guess? There's broken windows, some of the roof collapsed, and theres some fallen debris, but it actually looks very "clean" like the one in the video, I think you can attribute that to the fact that it is in the woods away from most people who will vandalize and destroy it.
as someone who laughs when scared (once I start to feel safer typically), that one with the guys checking out the house would be believable if the scream didn't sound totally edited in
My first thought was 'why did they edit in a sound effect, that was jarring'. I was surprised when she said that was suppose to be something they caught in the moment

The screech from the door that got slammed in the middle of the woods could have very easily been a bobcat, mountain lion, black panther. Things of that sort we have out here in the sticks.
And if that guy knew what one of those sounded like and recognized it, that might explain why he was laughing.
I love Loey’s work so much, it really helps the loneliness of pandemic parenting to feel like I have a gal pal to traverse the spooky internet trails with me. So proud of how far she has come and excited to see even her go even further in the future.

Same! I was glad the person filming had the same "nope" reaction I would, though I'd probably be walking away a lot faster.
@@manaash4316 i don't know how to explain it but it was wrong there was something very off about that and i would have run as fast as i could away from there. There was just something very wrong about the tone of the voice.

That shadow person in the window definitely looks like a morphsuit. It’s too perfect and solid.
It’s also funny how recent analog horror stories have brought us “woodcrawlers” and “alternates,” and now suddenly people are seeing these things, as you called them “mimics,” all over the place in real life
Call-backs have been in various cultures’ cryptid lists since before Columbus landed.
the "mimics" have existed a long, long time though. they're part of native american cultures. the only reason they'd be showing up more is just that people are more aware about them these days and so are guessing that's what weird things they're experiencing might be, whereas before when they hadn't heard of them they'd not put that name to it as an explanation.

I actually feel its more like that room was a "disappointment room." People like to dance around these things and find other reasons for this stuff because ableism makes them unccomfortable. The likelihood of them never having a disabled family member who was locked away is lower than you think. And if her family at the time was religious its possible those items were used to perform an exorcism or ritual on Aunt Selma to "fix" her or "cure her demons." The history of disabled people is long and bloody. Were still treated horrendously today and this is the best its been in a really long time. Dont shy away from whats staring you in the face. Disabled people have often been erased from books and talked about in whispers because people were ashamed to be related.

The last video was obviously the soul of a tortured dinosaur in that woman's basement. And you are not going to change my mind about it.
Its so wild to me that the animal in distress one didnt send that person right outside to check the source. Might be because i rehab animals frequently & have multiple animals but everytime ive ever heard a noise like that I've bolted outside to attempt to render aid.
That is a typical fox call. They sound in distress...can even sound like babies or women crying. Creepy as hell when you hear it...but totally normal
The other tiktoks from that account kind of explain why she didn’t go outside. Their property has so much going on that I wouldn’t even think of going outside unless it was to leave and never come back.
@@csmith8404 I think it's a Vixen call? It's something they do during mating season, apparently it sounds REALLY freaky and alarming.
For the video of the creepy sounds that person heard on their security camera - I’ve heard sort of similar sounds to the ones in the first clip and it ended up just being a fox, not in distress, just hanging out in the backyard. If you search for like, fox sounds on youtube you can find audio clips that sound kind of similar. The creepier sounds might be animals as well (there are some animals that make really weird sounds). Don’t know about the lights flickering though!

Neggative spirits have a tendency to attach themselves to those who are depressed. They make you feel worse. once i brought home a really bad spirit when i came home from a grippy sock vacation. If i saw something slam a door in my face and scream at me, I’d probably laugh cause I’d be very nervous and freaking out lol. My best friend laughs when she’s nervous and she laughed through our whole holocaust presentation in 8th grade. Thankfully our class already knew she was like that and didn’t think she was laughing at the atrocities

Decades ago my family was house shopping in Montclair (New Jersey); one 1800s house we wish we could have afforded (it had a dedicated _library_ room, with wall bookshelves with stained glass shelf doors), and one of the weirdest (and coolest) aspects was its cellar, its walls being thick stone masonry... as my mother and I observed, all that was missing were shackles...
P.s. thank you thank you for not including jump scares!! You have no idea how much I, my heart, and anxiety appreciate that!!
Old basements had extra room for root cellars, canned and jar pantry, coal, and even ice. They didn't have the technology to store things in fridges and freezers like today. And they needed extra rooms for coal/wood to heat the house and to cook. Families would also close off unused rooms, attics, and basement rooms to conserve fuel for heating the house during winter. I'm so tired of people assuming spooky shite instead of learning about domestic history.

Like if that was me, I wouldn't of even stepped a foot into that basement, let alone just called out to whoever or whatever might be down there-
I turned down my volume to not hear the "animal in distress" but couldn't hear anything, when I turned it up and heard it, I knew it was a fox. I was expecting to hear something worse. Animals do often make screechy/screaming noises that can be disturbing if you don't know what it is though 😂

I definitely think the guys in the woods was a hoax because honestly the way the light went onto the person in the window, it looks like someone in one of those full body suits because of how matte it is. And then the screech sounds added in post because of how it seems to go over the audio and not echo naturally. Still a spooky little clip, but I think they made it just for fun.

That last one could have been a water hammer or other pipe or faucet related noise. If they have an ice maker and the line has air in it, that could be making a random sound.
