Good video again sir. On Sunline's website they have a lot of more braided lines that should be better than the PE x8 ADV that you tested. Would be very interesting for you to test Sunline's premium lines, like their Ultimate-Pe.
Cheap, nicely made, consistent 30lb 8x braided line (well, for this batch at least) with a 15lb label on the box - I wonder if that is so the FG break strength is above the marketed breaking straing? Thanks for the video.
You are clearly the best line tester on UA-cam, i want to ask you a question, looking at other testers on UA-cam with less professional test method i often saw results lower than what was declared, instead in your videos most of the times the breaking point is higher than what the manufacturers declare, why may that be?
Thank you! Without knowing the exact method the others use, I can assume it's one of a few things. Quite possible they are not clamping the line correctly. Wrapping the line around bollards to provide the tension without knots is critical. Additionally, applying the tension consistently and smoothly is important otherwise you can shock the line and give a lower result. Shocking is a valid test, but it isn't the max break. Finally, unless they have a calibrated strain gauge that records the peak value, the max break is a guess. There are so many factors that go into a test, it's not as simple as some assume
@@thelinelaboratory thank you for the amazing answer, looking forward to Seaknight Manster/Monster W8 II and Caperlan braids (the 12x of Caperlan seems VERY interesting) have a good day sir.
Can you please tell me why the overall ranking was so low for this line? Was it the poor abrasion resistance? What other factors caused it to rank so poorly
The overall ranking is a combination of the tensile rank + abrasion rank + fg rank. The lower the total number the better, so no single result has a larger influence on the final ranking than any other test.
@@korzer Nope no influence on the final ranking as that is simply "marketing accuracy" or lack there of. A line could be rated to break at 10lbs, and it actually breaks at 50lbs, but if the tensile strength is really high then it will rank at the top.
Хотелось бы видеть испытания Sunline Siglon PEx8 ADV в размере #1 или #1,2. Там такая же удельная прочность как и у #0.8 или будут отличия? Для фидера 0.8 может быть слабоват на узлах.
yes consistency may be a concern, thats a tough one to test unless we get multiple spools from multiple batches to check. Although most brands can suffer from this also, unless they test each and every batch. The raw materials used can be stronger/weaker than expected, which will flow through to the final braid.

As always, my resource for line tests. Great work.
Appreciate it :)

Yeah possibly, although my guess is they pluck a random number out of the air then let people be amazed when its twice as strong as what they claim.
Thanks!

I like this braid since its like $5 shipped from aliexpress.
again great work!

@@thelinelaboratory Thanks. I was wondering if the breaking strain being way above claimed had a negative effect on the results.

There is a significant chance that it was the wrong size on the tab. I don't believe that their smallest size is a pe 2 or 2.5 line.

problem with aliexpress product is, it'll be different the second time you buy them

Could you do relix nusantara jabrik x8 braid please ?
Another great informative video.
great work, but i did not understand these measurements, please add kilogram measurement.
Conclusion: Was the result good and is this company good?
Just divide by 2.2?
or just convert in google, just put "lb kg"... Jesus man.
