Here I am showing you that the IRIG midi can be used with the “set list maker” app to change songs on your midi keyboard using the iPads touchscreen. I also show you how to make this work and it’s very simple.
Just connect the IRIG midi to your iPad 30 pin slot, plus in the out of the IRIG midi into the midi in on your keyboard,
That’s all the connections done, simple. Now just download set list maker and add your songs to the app, then add the midi data by following my on screen instructions,
Some items may need to be paid for as in app purchases, I got this many years ago and cannot remember if I paid anything or not,
Quick tip. We know midi is ‘midi in out thru”
That how I say it in my head anyway, but also the order we say it in is what your keyboard layout is too, so you will always know that as we look down the back of the keyboard it’s like reading from a book, we see three midi plugs in a row but cannot see the writing unless we pull the keyboard right out, but it’s just how we say it, in out thru, the one on the left is Midi in, Then it’s Out in the middle and then it’s thru on the right, so it’s simple to know which port is which in tight spaces when you can’t read the writing on the back of the keyboard.
That's amazing!!! Thank you for sharing. I have subscribed to your channel.
thanks. how do you define multiple midi events in one song? let's say i want a clean sound at a begining, a distorted sound later in the song and later go back to clean.
I use the app to change between saved programs and combis. I can then alter the distortion / clean sounds from my keyboard for that particular combi by using my keyboards buttons / joystick etc.
Thanks for the valuable information! Midi Learn works for me (only with midi out from keyboard to midi in from irig), but when i change the song, my program does not change. Have you experienced similar problems? Maybe you can provide me with some tips or ideas for trouble shooting? Keyboard listens to channel 1 and i send on channel 1, so this is not the issue. Also the correct midi preset is assigned to the song... Any idea? Thanks in advance!
I have the same problem !
Go into settings, App control, send midi, Song selection. That tells the app to send the midi information when you select the song.

Which ipad is that? Because i have irig but i see no drivers for ipad pro anywhere.
I show it working on my iPad original. It did not work on the latest model as mentioned in the video for whatever reason
Does it work opposite? Like if i choose a song on a keyboard, would it change it then on app?
I’m not totally certain as I only made this video for that one time and have never used it again since. But, No I don’t think it did that on the set up I used.
Does this irig require some sort of app or driver on the original ipad?
Yes. The app that’s shown and titled in the video.
I am trying to put together a solo act using a GR-55 GUITAR SYNTH, a GP-10 modeler/processor, a TC Helcon Vocal processor, and a DR-800 drum machine, all using different unique preset patches for every song. ---- Can this change ALL of these devices?
Hi. I don’t use this myself now but when I used multiple keyboards I linked them all to each other using Midi cables. Then when I press a sound bank on one master keyboard all the others would change to match that patch for their own respective parts. So yes, you could just contect this to the master keyboard, connect the others up using midi and they will theoretically all change exactly how you’ve programmed them too using this one device
@@Jackcapaudio Thanks for that! Even though I've been playing for 50 years I am JUST starting to learn the basics about midi. If I can get this to work I'll be able to pull off solo act......almost impossible without being able to switch all of the devices I use from the set list. Thanks again!

Hi. I’m not sure as I don’t have that keyboard. Sorry.
