You are not obliged to take sides, or fix it. You have to separate your life from theirs. Everytime i hear this song i tear up up because it makes me think of my mom. My junior year of highschool i was kicked out for failing multiple drug test. At this point in my life, no one really cared for me or even cared i was kicked out of school, except my mom. This song is pulling me through a crap time in my life, my mum passed away just over a year ago and I miss her so much. Now I'm battling to keep my wife who doesn't know what she wants from life anymore . I wish I could fix her but I'm no psychiatrist and I just seem to go round in circles trying to get the happiness back. Just over three years ago, my mum was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer (when I was 12) which is terminal. This song has been getting me lately. Lost the love of my life recently then I recently helped out a friend cause he lost everything so I gave him a home and welcome him to stay at my house till he gets back on his feet but at the end he ended up screwing me over. He took everything away from me, my finances, my identity and the house that I have work so hard to call my own. Lost everything due to him taking everything, my house, my finances and now I lost everything and currently stays at a friend's couch. I never asked anything for return nor was an asshole to me. He was a heroin addict and I did my best to help him that I have lost so much, my money, my house, and the person that I was who I miss soo much, just cause I tried to be the good person to help someone and never asked for anything back. Now I just feel like the world is against me and it is soo hard to get back on my feet. No family & friends that I love the most lives in a different state. I have never felt so alone. 😕
Do not give in, usually the good things we want the most aren't just given to us that easily. But they will eventually come, you're a good person and that will attract good people to be there for you! Just don't give up on yourself, you can get back up if you keep trying!
I've just recently gone through a breakup. It was semi-mutual but it was a loss nonetheless. In the end I had to let them go; but we still communicate and are striving to be good friends. I just need to believe that we'll be okay individually & apart and realize that this is an opportunity for the both of us to fully embrace ourselves and journey down the path of self-love. Wow this is so sad. There was a period when i was moving and I just got really depressed and sad and thought nobody would help. And in the long run i guess i helped my self. Nobody bothered to see how i felt or if i wanted help and when i looked for it i was regected. But yah i followed my path and I'm happier now. I guess.

I know he wrote this song to help his wife deal with the death of her dad. My thoughts may be too serious for this site, but, here goes. I am dealing with a lot of suffering in life. All of us carry a burden in life, some have heavier ones and must carry them further. We all know pain and we all suffer loss. It may be a loss of a loved one, our health or we lose ourselves. It seems we all ache for a person to 'fix us'. To me, the video means something different. In the entire video, we only see one person. When she looks into the mirror, she sees her own reflection. I see this as symbolic. Truly, life has taught me, that the only person who can fix us, is us. Love and support is priceless, essential and beautiful. However, I am the only person who can fix me. I cannot fix you and neither can anyone else. I believe many relationships and marriages fail because we want someone to fix us. We want someone to make us feel happy. We must look deeply into ourselves, find the real source of our pain, and slowly fix it ourselves. We are the only one, who can look into the mirror and say 'I will try to fix you'.

Just over three years ago, my mum was diagnosed with secondary bone cancer (when I was 12) which is terminal. Her illness has gotten worse over the years and now she can barely walk, talk and sometimes breathe. These lyrics mean so much to me. He was also my friend. Ethan is now a guardian angel, protecting his family, and all of the other people he loved. We all miss you ethan.

This song has been getting me lately. Lost the love of my life recently then I recently helped out a friend cause he lost everything so I gave him a home and welcome him to stay at my house till he gets back on his feet but at the end he ended up screwing me over. He took everything away from me, my finances, my identity and the house that I have work so hard to call my own. Lost everything due to him taking everything, my house, my finances and now I lost everything and currently stays at a friend's couch. I never asked anything for return nor was an asshole to me. He was a heroin addict and I did my best to help him that I have lost so much, my money, my house, and the person that I was who I miss soo much, just cause I tried to be the good person to help someone and never asked for anything back. Now I just feel like the world is against me and it is soo hard to get back on my feet. No family & friends that I love the most lives in a different state. I have never felt so alone. 😕

I've just recently gone through a breakup. It was semi-mutual but it was a loss nonetheless. In the end I had to let them go; but we still communicate and are striving to be good friends. I don't believe in signs but what I just experienced is a little freaky in my opinion. I just went through a heart wrenching break up - I'm so lonely that I decided to move in with a stranger. While moving in a kid drove past on his bike and sang "when you try but don't succeed". This song has cheered me up so much, its exactly what I needed. I know he wrote this song to help his wife deal with the death of her dad. My thoughts may be too serious for this site, but, here goes. I am dealing with a lot of suffering in life. All of us carry a burden in life, some have heavier ones and must carry them further. We all know pain and we all suffer loss. It may be a loss of a loved one, our health or we lose ourselves. It seems we all ache for a person to 'fix us'.
To me, the video means something different. In the entire video, we only see one person. When she looks into the mirror, she sees her own reflection. I see this as symbolic. Truly, life has taught me, that the only person who can fix us, is us. Love and support is priceless, essential and beautiful. However, I am the only person who can fix me. I cannot fix you and neither can anyone else.
I believe many relationships and marriages fail because we want someone to fix us. We want someone to make us feel happy. We must look deeply into ourselves, find the real source of our pain, and slowly fix it ourselves. We are the only one, who can look into the mirror and say 'I will try to fix you'.

My lights just went out today. It's not that there is no room at the Inn. I guess home just where you are ! . Where I thought I belonged I never did! ! Note to God , you win! This song was the first song i listened to (randomly) after my best friend Mack (a great dane x american bulldog) passed away in my arms after he ingested a whole bag of snail pellets. It was and still is the hardest thing i have ever been through, i cried more than when when any human in my life passed. I suffer from ptsd and schizophrenia, he was given to me for comfort and love.
He gave me so much for so long, but it only took a split second for it to be taken all away. He was one of the best things that had ever happened to me. I'll always remember his derpy face and grin. When i listen to this song i just imagine him as my light, how he fixed me and how now he is flying off to heaven. I made a promise i couldn't keep the day he passed "you'll be okay, you'll be fine..." But i guess we can never guarantee that.
