      You can also use a shoulder bur, to do this.... Just that you need to be careful about the adjacent tooth.... Protect it with Matrix band if possible ✌🏼✨

    Thanks for such a detailed explanation.Can experienced person do most of the necessary reduction with single tapered round end bur only?

    • @doctor_vk
      @doctor_vk  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks a lot for the appreciation doctor 💓🙂 Definitely, as long as you are aware of how much tooth you are reducing, it is definitely possible.... awareness should be developed by knowing the average dimensions of enamel and dentin thickness of the tooth (can find in Wheeler's dental anatomy textbook) and diameter of the bur we are trying to use to create the depth orientation grooves for the preparation.... However, it is preferable to use one straight bur and one tapered bur.... My preference is SR 13 & TR13 for anterior teeth and SR 13 & TR62 for posterior teeth..... Check out this story in instagram (Dr stevenson's dental solutions channel) for a good selection of tooth preparation burs..... 👇🏼👉🏼 instagram.com/s/aGlnaGxpZ2h0OjE3OTExMzA3NzYxNjM4NzUy?igshid=1lrxlldo395d6&story_media_id=2532444785970401808_16987803417

      FOR LONGER TEETH
      TR-13 (L=9.2mm; Dia= 1.8mm)
      The diameter is the diameter at the base of the diamond coated area, at the tip the diameter will be lesser, approximately around 1mm.... Choose the burs according to the size and height of the tooth!
      For short posterior teeth
      TR 62C (L=7.2mm; Dia= 1.8mm)
      For long posterior teeth
      TR 13C (L=9.2mm; Dia= 1.9mm)
      C- refers to coarse diamond, green banded, cuts agrresively....
      There is also TR13F - SAME SIZE AS TR13C BUT MORE FINE, CUTS LESSER.....
      TR-14 (L=9.3mm; Dia= 2.2mm)
      TR-15 (L=11.4mm; Dia= 2.2mm)
      These are larger burs, can be used for posterior teeth that are huge.....
      For shoulder similar burs with coding as TF -13 can be used.... Just substitute "R" in TR and you get the shoulder preparation burs..... There is also RS series for rounded shoulder...... RS 11, RS 21 , RS 31
      CHECK THIS LINK 👉🏼 www.google.com/search?q=RS+series+burs&client=ms-android-motorola-rev2&prmd=ivn&sxsrf=ALeKk00cVW9h7hqJfhnrW-OfkzLMQNI93A:1622228173141&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwje9IPwhu3wAhXRQeUKHTHBDcMQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=360&bih=512&dpr=3#imgrc=UU8BM5ZbvpR5sM

    • @doctor_vk
      @doctor_vk  2 роки тому

      Hi, to be frank, indirect vision is a bit tricky, you need lots of practice, and mostly, it is going to be done with tactile sensation and not by vision! I'll try to make a video, on how to move the handpiece in case of direct vision....!

    • @doctor_vk
      @doctor_vk  3 роки тому

      Hi, thank you so much for watching the video and i hope you had some benefits from it..... 🤞🏼✌🏼💓For gross/initial cutting you can use - SR 13 & TR 13 (Blue bands/ medium grit diamonds).... for finishing you can TR 13F ( red band / fine grit diamonds).... it is better not to use any bur of yellow band, as they are too smooth and can cause poor cement retention.... yellow band will be with the code "XF" - meaning extra fine grit for example TR - 13 XF..... TR13 ( blue) TR13F (red) and TR13XF (yellow) - all of these are same size but different roughness..... hope this helps 👍🏼✌🏼🙂

    How much reduction palatal surface ??

    • @doctor_vk
      @doctor_vk  2 роки тому +1

      There are two options depending on the material you choose for crown..... For example, if you prefer covering your crown with ceramic on the palatal surface, that is, metal ceramic, then, you may need 1mm to a little more than 1mm reduction.....
      It you choose to keep the palatal surface, without ceramic, that is, like having ceramic only on labial and proximal sides, then you may need to reduce just about 0.5-1mm..... because it'll be just metal....!
      Normally, you can use a round bur that is 1mm in diameter and make dimple marks that are half the size of it.... This will create depth orientation marks of size approximately 0.5 mm.....!
      Connect them using drop shaped or wheel shaped bur and finish the preparation....!
