Apparently, no one told the sellers on eBay about these price drops.
for real! i was trying to buy the xmen annual 14 for around the 150 price just now lmao. still asking 350 ish
You got that right! Sellers are still asking 3k for Ultimate Fallout 4’s in 9.4 lol😂
Lol 😂
You took the words right out of my mouth
Why won’t Predator 1 9.8 drop???
There is a moral to this buy the books you want and enjoy at a price you are happy with and can afford, way I have done and buy a spec book for under 50 quid and you can't lose
Alias, Hulk 180 and SIKTC 1. Those were what I wanted. They just happened to go down in value. You are absolutely right.
9.8 sales are expensive! 9.0, 9.2 9.4 and the lovely 9.6 are so much cheaper and still have that great look! I just bought a Incredible Hulk 340 at a 9.0 at a very affordable price and it looks great in the collection. Plus it will continue to go up In price! So keep on Hunting!
"Poor bastard" is right on that Eternals book. I remember commenting somewhere online in 2021 prior to the Eternals release that I wasn't going anywhere near those books. Just seemed way too risky.
Just adding these to my shopping list :)
It's kind of scary watching prices fall like that, even for non-speculator collectors because wanting to buy one feels like trying to catch a falling knife. This does demonstrate how ridiculously high prices were getting, far beyond their historic value.
Hi James. I was the winning bidder of the MCP 72 9.8 for 187.50. Good to see I only paid 22% of the high sale. Keep up the great content
Great video. It would be interesting to also see if the FMV on raws of theses books have drooped comparativly to the slabs.
That noise when the image freezes..... It comes from inside my head and makes my skin crawl (in a bad way) EVERY time lol
Love these videos! Every time you show one I'm interested in, I get on ebay and start looking. Appreciate the tips!
Glad you like them!
E-V-E-R-Y single time!
I hope Carange dosen't find out his key issues are being under valued, because he'll come after the people that are doing it and I'll say this much, unless Spider-man or Venom shows up to stop him, it's gonna end really badly for those people.
You GOTTA do these eating some pop corn or some milk duds or something. It would be hilarious! Also you gotta add the “dumb” comment with a fart sound. 😂😂😂
Volatile market dang
the guy that paid $800 for the #360 must be weeping into his Rice Krispies
This is a great series thank you for putting these together.
I love the fact that you are doing these. More UA-cam vloggers should be doing this. It is a nice way for collectors to invest in slab speculation for the future. I use these videos to buy slabs at a discount that I highly believe will have a great ROI within the next 5 to 10 years.
Honestly this video was a blast to research!
Man James, this video was so cold that it kept freezing up as I watched it! 🥶
Stick with gold and silver, and very EARLY bronze, and you won't lose your shirt next time.
Puts the high and low comic prices into perspective.
Those are some big drops. I really like this series! I mostly do raw books but I did pick up a few slabs that I've been waiting to drop. I got ASM 276 9.6 for $23 (you can check it on last sold on eBay). I actually sniped it and I thought I would pay its 2021 value $50-60. The slab is in excellent condition too. Be well!
Again, love these vids. Hard to imagine u could buy 4 or 5 of some of these books for the price someone paid for one. I mean damn!!
Great vid James. Really enjoyed the freezing CGC case animation.
Not at all, that's the 80s and thay reprint was not uncommon and a fraction of the value, this small.pocket of layer printings being more valuable really is just the 90s dc
Appreciate your honesty about declining prices… you are honest about Fomo. There’s a lot of dishonest influencers (Jernos Comics for example ) that are promoting comic books knowing that they will probably dump after a bad Disney MSheU movie. Keep up the good work
@Ed Duran I disagree with ur assertion that Jerno's comics is dishonest. He always states IMHO, do ur own research, buy what u like, etc...Just saying.
@@shawnmccann9762 I did…minute you say not to collect a comic he calls it misogyny 🤪 Plus remember “some”influencers have agendas because they are sponsored…paid. No worries, just my opinion
Hey great video, a few of your mentions I have been able to get at real deal prices, but not CGC's, I tend to go for grail's in that situation. I picked up that Batman 567 for under $20.00 NM, those ASM's you mentioned about Carnage was good info, I was eyeing that one ASM book with Carnage & Spiderman locked in combat, white cover it's hovering between $100 -$150 now but maybe I'll wait on that one. I am eyeing CGC Vengence of Bain, I passed on a 9.6 for about $100 to pursue other titles at the time, but yes that book seems to be price trending down, but I think it will always be a collectible book. Thanks
Oh spit I think that was me I bought a ton of carnage stuff insane cheap 😂
Keep it up, these help me seek books on the dip, love it
Oh man, why don’t I ever get such great deals on books? These folks seriously scored with some low bids; good on them and many thanks for putting this video together!
You got that right!
Some comics were at crazy highs, and now back where they should be. Others are now at crazy lows, and its time to grab'em!!
Love the content! Been watching for a while and just joined as a member!
Check that Monica Rambeau price drop, something is off 1100 to 600 is not 67%
Came here to say this same thing. There's a couple of them over the videos where he's messing up the math a bit. Good videos just need to get the math right.
Loving all the videos! Appreciate the info.
Yeah, that ASM 344 sale was shocking. I picked it up on my radar at what I thought was a bargain about 2 months ago for $150 and thought that was the floor. Just wow.
Many of these prices were just stupid anyway, way too much. So many comics falling in price but I think many of these are still too much and will keep falling. $1182 for ams annual 18???? $600 is still too much. But the x men annual Gambit was an absolute steal.
Would you say that there is a comic bust coming in the near future, or is all ready here on graded comics? Cause those are some big drops on BIG books.
MCU speculators are like stock day traders. Sure, you might make a big hit here and there, but most people are going to lose their pants. If you're going to buy comics as an investment then I think it might be best to consider long term instead of short term, but to each their own.
'holding up hulk'?! bawawawahahahaahah Hulk wishes he were just being 'held'.
Please keep them coming!!!!! I'm hunting and these videos help!!!
People spending 45 grand and 11 grand on a comic have the money to throw away. Always, buy on the dip or after the movie hype dies down. I'm shocked people haven't learned this by now.
Loved the last video, was hoping for another one, just didn’t expect it so soon! Awesome vid
Great video I have always enjoy watching yours. I seen other market update videos but by far yours are the most entertaining and the most informative. Keep up the good work.
Your cold list is very helpful in todays buyers market. Makes me want to pick up some of these once pricey books. Thanks.
Buyers are now at least 50% less stupid than they were in 2021...nuff' said.
Thanks for the information again it's awesome every time I learn something. Also, I wanted to say you look a lot better and happier doing what you like now compared to what you were doing and didn't like too much. You know what I mean LOL keep it up brother you're doing good.
THE VAST MAJORITY OF BOOKS ARE NEWER ISSUES YET SLEEPER ARE PAST BY PRIME EXAMPLE IS ADVENTURE OF GOLDEN AGE BATMAN DEATH. AND SOME OF THE MARVELS LIKE MARVEL AGE 19 WITH THE FIRST SPIDERMAN IN IN BLACK.
Please do a in depth Batman collection there’s none on UA-cam and I always find my self watching your one we need it! 🙏🏼
I regret not selling EVERY COMIC THAT I OWN one year ago.
WOW GREAT INFO KEEP THE SHOWS GOING
Heard you are going full time! You got this, for real you are good enough! Do some collaborations and keep the creativity for these new segments. By the way how much do you bench bro?
You can thanks Kevin Smith for the He Man drop 😀
Sad that I have almost all those books
Pretty crazy to see how a combination of the luxury item market (collectibles etc) crashing and REALLY BAD MARVEL MOVIES can affect the prices of comics so drastically. No surprise all the Carnage books are down despite their significance. That movie was a stinker through and through.
You gotta keep this serious going
Talk about going back to the well. 25 comic books that have dropped by half, part 354 😀
the actual first , cameo appearance of wolverine......
I love this videos, tell me how to shop. Have you considered comics that are rising?
It's insane how far Ninja Turtles books have fallen. I've been snagging keys for a fraction of what I would've been paying had I started buying when I got the urge to start collecting TMNT last year.
The reality is no one under the age of 26 is a fan at all.
Love the content. Hope you can make this your full time job. Can we also get a series of books that are going up? BTW, based on your sold numbers, the Spider-man Annual had a drop of 48%, not 67%. Sorry, the math geek in me had to say something. Keep up the great work!
saw that one too :)
Nice, wasn't expecting another one of these
Another great video James, but it got me thinking. Did you look to see if any of these books were Newstand at the highs vs the lows?
Great video very very informative 😮
Do one on the Neal Adam bronze age books and compare it to the modern books.
Another awesome video bud! Can’t believe some of those huge drops in price!
You know what this all means? It’s a great time to be shopping for comics at these prices, I know I have been
Guess l need to hold on to my Amazing Spiderman carnage books for now!
Find these kind of videos from you informative and fascinating. Please keep them coming!
I honestly would... don't try to sell em anytime soon haha
@@MintHunterComics Haha thanks 😭
Hi James, loved the first cold comics video. The thing that always strikes me about ASM #328, apart from the great poses McFarlane gives the two characters, is grey Hulk's green tongue. Huge money for Incredible Hulk #180, and huge drop. MCP #72 is now where it should be, it was hugely overpriced last year. The drop with Savage She-Hulk #1: partly a reflection of dissatisfaction with the show? All this just goes to show that there is still volatility in the market when it comes to Copper and Modern books.
Could you do a video on promotional comics? Like Superman meets the Quick Bunny? Things like that.
That's a really good idea
Anyone who paid the peak prices of 2021 just doesn't have any business collecting comics in the first place. I mean, if you don't have an internal circuit breaker that trips at the thought of spending anything remotely near $800 for ASM 360, you are in the wrong hobby. Lots of people who were trying to make a quick buck, in part by labelling everything as "a key" book are deservedly losing thier shorts. You haven't seen the price floor on most of these books yet, BTW. Defenders #1 will NEVER be worth more than about $5K again, and if I was the guy who lost $8000 on it, I'd be taking a leap out of the nearest window. BTW, Mint Hunter, kudos on being one of the few voices of reason over the last couple years. Wish I had a dollar for every UA-cam influencer who scoffed at the idea that a bubble was going to burst post-COVID.
I guess if they wanted it THAT much maybe?
Really enjoyed these two videos, I just got back into comics at start of this year only high dollar item I bought was a 7.5 hulk 102 and I think it’s maintained it price so far maybe even an up tick
How about Superman 4, went for $375 (my sale!) the weekend the movie came out, down to $94.
I have the vengeance of bane and once I got it back from grading it dropped like that :/ but still I love that book so I don’t mind if it won’t move
Yes I still have all of my Ghostrider rise of the Midnight sonscomics! Penciled and inked by Joe Adam and Andy Kubert! There artwork is tottaly amsome!
This is a good time to buy these great books. Finally o might be able siktk#1 cover A .
Some people on eBay still have it as 800, and when I make a offer of 360 I get declined 😂
To me the curse of carnage sounds like I need to buy some carnage stuff
Have you ever done a video on new character speculation? If not, could you make one? And are buying multiple copies of the same book worth it?
What goes up must come down the question is what goes down does it ever go up?
time to buy?? ASM360 seems priced correctly given how many of them are out there
Definitely. Most are on the auction side vs a sale.
Wow! I think I paid 25 dollars for raw ASM 360. A 9.8 slab is only a little more now!
I love comics
Do you think it is better to leave a book in the poly bag or remove and grade it? I have 2 of those ultimate comics Spider-Man. One is still sealed.
I need to send this video to all the eBay sellers who did not get the memo 😏 still charging 2021 prices
Why can i never find bargains like these
A nice presentation. Thank you for posting. Is anyone really surprised? Yea, I didn't think so either. IMO, with the exception of a few titles shown, most of these books have not stood the true test of time. Every fanboy knows 2021 was the most aberrant year for comic prices during the lockdown of America. Tons of spec buyers who couldn't care less about the genre and just wanted to make a buck. Hundreds of thousands of books printed. Plenty of variant covers that nobody could keep up with. FOMO was at a new all time high, along with MCU movies propping up prices artificially. Now, reality sets in with books finding their more realistic prices and it's an opportunity to buy for true readers/collectors.
I look at some of these current price points and I think, I'd rather buy a Silver age gem for the same money or even less and have a nice semi grail from titles like Tales to Astonish, Tales of Suspense, Journey into Mystery, Strange Tales, Daredevil and even Fantastic Four and Romita era ASM. And more after the double story books split like early Captain America, Iron Man and Hulk. But that's just my 2 cents and to each their own. Best to all.
Some of these feel like speculators were playing hot potato until the price crashed
This is a great video. You should showcase drops for all kinds of series like x men and star wars or something like that
Maybe do books that have the most upside short term/long term
None of those books had any business being at those high prices to begin with. They're still much to high as far as I'm concerned. The Eternals were always junkie dollar bin comics back in the day. Nobody cared about those books.
That's an opinion. Part of this hobby is having opinions about art & differentiating between titles & issues for yourself.
But we can't dictate those tastes to others. We just passed 8 billion people on this planet, it'd be a shame if they all had the exact same opinion on everything.
Yeah, movie spec has had MANY many times where I've said "WTF no one EVER liked that comic that much, I saw that in the 50 cent bin"
This video seems misleading. Just because you showed a 9.8 graphic doesn't mean that it was a 9.8. I didn't hear a disclaimer that these were all 9.8 - correct me if I'm wrong. I'm starting to wonder that the drops are from a slowing market, and people picking up non-9.8 cgc slabbed books for cheaper
Time to buy I'm snatching those keys I could not have've have afforded
Example a hulk 180 oh yeah
Many of these have to be over-valued due to the cgc grading, right?
The movies can elevate a a comic on specs and hype… but when the movie or series is a quote unquote flop….the air comes out fast…and the sellers are grabbing them and are stuck with them…and if that’s your job you can’t afford to wait 3 or 4 years until the price maybe comes up again….buyers beware 😖😣🙁😕😕
I was eyeballing Teen titans 12 (1st batman who laughs) for 3 years but was hesitant as a graded 9.8 would vary between 1000-800$. I finally bought one but heres the catch, it was being sold for 475$ and i offered 400$ and got it at that price. plus shipping, it came up to 430$.
WOW!
Things got out of hand for a few years, but the market is finally starting to correct itself.
I don't follow the comic collecting scene closely. But clearly prices were absurdly high for a year or two. As you wrote, the market is just correcting itself.
Awsome Video Thanks!!
Thank you Dennis!
I purchased a couple Blood Stained Teeth # 1/100/50/25. Spec never paid off but I love the story and it’s actually getting better.
Loving this market! Now if only had the disposable income..I would be buying like crazy!
You got that right!
Mine comic that sadly tanked was Elsa Bloodstone #1 It wasn't even with FOMO, I truly thought it would sustain the 800.00 Price I paid for it, and not 2 weeks later...it was down to 250.00. 9.8 which is what I got as well. *sigh*
2:20 Hulk #180 for only $4500 bucks????????
I have a low grade hulk 180 won it in a blind auction for charity. Might of over paid but it was charity. Also got first appearance of second green goblin.
I honestly thinks it’s the amount of slabs available their everywhere. I’ve picked up some tough spawns 9.8 cheaper than raws. I got 174 175 227 and 231 insane cheap.
