Of course she nailed it, and was part of the Magnificent Seven, the first US gymnastics team to win team gold. ❤
Charlie Daniels, my God rest his soul, was one unique and talented performer. He fans adored him, his music sold millions, and he was one of the best. I'm glad you enjoyed this one.
This is probably my favorite Southern song and nobody does that better than Charlie Daniels. He did this one in 1979 when I was 28. When Charlie Daniels died, Vince Gill sang "Go Rest High on that Mountain" for him. I was tickled when I saw you doing this one and knew you'd love it. Look up some of Jim Croce's work - Photographs and Memories, Operator, my favorite of his, Time in a Bottle, I'll Have to Say I Love You In a Song.
I grew up listening to The Charlie Daniels Band. I was lucky enough to see him live, shredding his bow, many times. He was a great story teller, and one of my favorites was The Legend of Woolly Swamp. As a writer, I think you'll love that one.
If you don't know the difference between a violin and a fiddle, a violin has strings, and a fiddle has strangs. Rip Charlie. He is a true genius. This was released before the first official rap song. Charlie wasn't truly country, he was able to cross into several different genres. Same as Dolly. Check out her collaboration with PTX on Jolene.
I knew the name fiddle, but never really knew what it was and how it sounded. Thanks so much for sharing this info! I checked out that collaboration. Should be in the Pentatonix reactions playlist.
@SaeedReacts. Dolly is an absolute gem. My dad, who played violin as a child, and his 2 younger grandchildren also played. He told me about a late night show where the host had Charlie and some famous violisnist who made some comment that Charlie couldn't play "real" music, so Charlie picked up his fiddle and played a famous classic piece, no music sheets around. I have spent hours trying to find it. Dad couldn't remember which show, and he passed away, so I can't ask. Charlie doesn't really fit into any specific genre. But his storytelling ability. He passed away in 2020. He was a great entertainmer. There is a sequel to this song, with several other artists. It's called the devil went back to Georgia. Enjoy!
Fiddle and violin are the same instrument, physically. It's just tuned differently and fiddle music tends to be much more energetic and fast-paced, while violin is more slow and somber. My grandpa played fiddle and gave his to my uncle's wife when they married. For many years, she played it as violin in her church's orchestra.
Welcome to 1979. Charlie Daniels is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, this tells you why. Still played on both classic country and classic rock radio stations today. Great reaction. Charlie Daniels passed away in 2020.
I learned the lyrics to this when it first came out - and I can still sing along! You’ll find some of the best storytellers in country music, and also some absolutely fabulous musicians. What comes to mind is Harper Valley PTA, Sunday Morning Coming Down and He Stopped Loving Her Today as far as story songs. I’m sure others, who know country music much better than I do, will have other examples. Love this song and loved your reaction to it. Peace …
One I've always loved is 'She's In Love with the Boy.' The last verse always gets to me. Then on the other end of the emotional scale there's 'Third Rock from the Sun.'
I remember when this was first played on the radio. We always listened closely, just in case the DJ played the "real" instead of the sanitized version. (SOB instead of son of a gun. It was the late 1970s, when bad words were a rarity on the radio.)
There will never be anyone that can back a viddle sound like metal and country like Mr Charlie Daniels he was one of a kind and his type of music will never die & never be copy .
Many years later, Charlie Daniels did a follow up to this song with Travis Tritt, Johnny Cash, Marty Stuart and Mark O'Connor. O'Connor plays the fiddle for "Johnny". Excellent song.
@@kanditraxel Best wishes. Remember too that Vietnam Vets were treated poorly by the left in the US. Many openly supported the enemy whom the US was fighting, like Jane Fonda, Angela Davis, and many college kids. Your uncle did what his country asked. That is a big thing.

@@kanditraxel I am stating facts. Vietnam veterans were treated badly by the left. Many veterans were spit upon and called baby killers by leftists. As a writer myself, I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it at 6 years old, sitting in the backseat of an old car on my way to grandmas house. I hung on every word, I was wrapt within the story like I was right there watching it - but I was super worried for Johnny because I kinda thought the Devil wiped the floor with him at the time 😂 it’s a moment I’ll never forget - and watching you have a very similar experience not only made my day, but it made me feel all warm and nice inside. Thanks so much for this comment. It brought a smile to my face 😃 I can relate to the feeling of falling in love with a great story and being inspired by it. This song is a masterclass in storytelling. Great concept and amazing execution. Thanks so much for subscribing!
Way back when there was a black man named Robert Johnson who wanted to be a great blues musician but was just no good at all. He disappeared for 2 years and when he reappeared he turned out to be the best blues musician there ever was. He died at 27 and was the first member of the infamous 27 club. Legend says he made a deal with the devil at a crossroads. There is a movie called Crossroads that is based on this story. Check it out
There is a sequel to this song where Johnny plays the golden fiddle. The Devil Returned to Georgia. Charlie Daniels and Johnny Cash play in it and it even has a music video!
" Legend of Wooley Swamp" and " Easy Rider," ...from CDB..great Storyteller songs, with a tight ass band! Hope you get to them both. Love from Oklahoma Saeed.,✌️
#CharlieDanielsBand #DevilGoesDownToGeorgia #SaeedReacts Oh my..an oldie but goodie...yee-haa 👍😁... my family came from Georgia..both sides... I was raised in North Florida and Southern Georgia at different times and a short stay in Louisiana..so fiddles were used in a lot of music..in fact in 5th grade my teacher asked if I could join the music group after hearing me tickle the ivories during a reccess break...well pianos were out of our financial budget so dad got me a violin 😮...as we were in a home with multiple family relatives..my learning violin wasn't their cup of tea..the next year dad let music class slip 😄...then the following year he got me a second (or third) hand piano after we moved to our own private home... Since my short stint with a stringed instrument.. I can well appreciate Charlie's gift with the bow...good on you for adding this legend to your catalog... If you're looking for stories try this fella..Sir Tom Jones..yes knighted by Queen Elizabeth..and if you do listen I would recommend them in this order to hear the trifecta unfold... 💥... I'll Never Fall In Love Again 💥...I Who Have Nothing 💥... Delilah Basically I would call him a crooner in his most powerful songs but the number of writers that brought their works to him created a large and complex catalog so beyond these 3 you'll hear a wide variety..and he even had a Variety Show in his name..This Is Tom Jones... So please consider adding him to your list if you haven't heard him..the first live from the Ed Sullivan Show and the next 2 from his show if I remember correctly...I didn't see him in your playlist..and DO these 3 in order 🙏..lol... Have a wonderful morning Saeed... 🌿🌿🌿
Thanks for sharing. Never too late to pick up the violin again. 😃 I do know a few song by Sir Tom Jones, but not a lot. Definitely need to check out more
There is a classical violin piece called " Devil's Trill" and I wonder if it influenced this masterpiece. Still in Saigon" is a great Charlie Daniels song as well. More of a rocker.
Saeed, I don't ever subscribe to any channel until about 10 reactions in. However after my 4th view of a reaction on your channel, I had to subscribe! You're a genuine guy and are thoughtful in your reacts. I appreciate and your work. That's about all...
As a writer myself, I also love the story telling. There is an interesting fact about the chorus; it perfectly describes what Johnny played...ie... "fire on the mountain" run boys run...etc are all names of Bluegrass songs that are standards. It must've been an epic battle those songs are not easy.
LOL I grew up with this song (from the south of the US)! It was one of my karaoke staples when I was in high school. I wasn't really into country, but I made an exception for this.
Hello, Saeed. I don't know how I missed this reaction. It didn't show up on my notifications. I just ran across it today on my home page of UA-cam, lol. I'm so glad I did. Charley Daniel's was a great storyteller, and this song will get you shaking your head and dancing in your chair. Charley once said "The difference between a Fiddle and a Violin is a Violin has strings..a Fiddle has strangs" just a different accent for the same instrument that he could play the heck out of. So glad you reacted to it and enjoyed a legend. May he rest in peace. Thank you and enjoy your day. ❤😊
Saeed, you need to hear Garth Brooks, " If Tomorrow Never Comes." Garth is one of the best country singers in America and an icon in the industry. Bring your hanky....it is a tear jerker !
Great fun to see this again! I was fortunate enough to see this live WAY back when I was a young'un in my 20s. In fact, long enough ago that I had forgotten what year the concert might have been. I swore it was the '70s, but checking with google I suppose it had to be the '80s instead. I'm surprised as I would have thought it would have been back when I was more into 'southern rock' than 'alternative'
Charlie was certainly one of the great storytellers but there are many more. Harry Chapin, Bob Seger, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne and a favorite for me is early Bruce Springsteen. His first two albums are loaded with great stories. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸
Ha, ha...Beat the Devil at his own game and he had to pay up..I'll bet he'll be sore about it for eternity. I like how the "Devil solo ended with sounding like a body being dragged down to hell...But Johnny's was pure-S*&%-Kicking, Foot Stompin, Good Time Fiddle playing, and the Red Face SOB knew it, too.
Thanks for the recommendations. I reacted to Believe, but its currently blocked on UA-cam. I put it on my patreon in the meantime. As soon as its unblocked I will post it to UA-cam
Another narrative thats pretty close i think youd really like is 'salvation' by Citizen Cope. He does quite a few pure story telling songs, and is also just a generally awesome dude. Great reaction to a classic. This was the kind of radio random that would get a whole carpool bouncing around
There is a great part 2 to this 20 yes later in the 90s. Guest are great. Johnny Cash Travis Tritt Marty Stuart and Mark O'Connor as second fiddle ( literally ) lol very well done. Called THE DECIL GOES BACK TO GEORGIA. Hope you check it out as well
Such a great song! Great reaction! I love how you like the stories!! Here is a band you haven't done - or a style you probably haven't heard.. The group is The Dead South - the song 'In Hell I'll Be in Good Company' They also have a version of 'You Are My Sunshine' that made me never sing that song again as a lullaby.. but - start with 'In Hell I'll Be in Good Company'... you will be amazed!
I've listened to that song so many times and it never gets old. If you like story telling I also recommend Kenny Rogers (Coward of the county), Dolly Parton (Coat of many colours), Johnny Cash (A boy named Sue), Johnny Horton (North to Alaska) and Bobbie Gentry (Ode to Billy Joe). Sorry, I couldn't stop. I love good story telling, too. 😊 My favorite artists are Meat Loaf and Alice Cooper, both of them excellent story tellers, each of them in their unique way.
Hi Saeed! If you like story songs, you really should listen to Harry Chapin, an American singer-songwriter who tragically died in a car accident in 1981 at the age of 38. His most famous song is "Cat's In The Cradle," but some of his other great story songs are "Mr. Tanner," "Flowers Are Red," "The Rock," "Taxi," a funny one called "Dance Band On The Titanic," and my all-time favorite song of his, "Corey's Coming." So beautiful! Hope you like them! 😁
I was lucky enough to see Charlie Daniels Band in concert years ago. He was an amazing storyteller and fiddler.
We lost Charlie Daniels a few years back. He was a storyteller, a fiddle player, a patriot and a national treasure.
Sorry to hear that.
Definitely will explore more of his music.
He's from not far from where I live in NC
National Treasure. Damn Skippy! ✌️♥️
Charlie didn't simply play the fiddle, he would make it stand up and dance.
This was awesome! Definitely checking out more!
Check out the Geico commercial where he takes the violin from the guy at the fancy restaurant and plays it as a fiddle.

I reacted to it! Great song!
" Legend of Wooley Swamp" and " Easy Rider," ...from CDB..great Storyteller songs, with a tight ass band! Hope you get to them both.
Love from Oklahoma Saeed.,✌️
I did those! Awesome songs! Thanks so much for watching. Love from Belgium!

Oh my..an oldie but goodie...yee-haa 👍😁... my family came from Georgia..both sides...
💥... I'll Never Fall In Love Again
💥...I Who Have Nothing
💥... Delilah
Basically I would call him a crooner in his most powerful songs but the number of writers that brought their works to him created a large and complex catalog so beyond these 3 you'll hear a wide variety..and he even had a Variety Show in his name..This Is Tom Jones...
I do know a few song by Sir Tom Jones, but not a lot. Definitely need to check out more
I see you enjoyed that. Look up the Geico commercial with Charlie Daniels it will blow your mind.
Amazing song! Thanks for watching! WIll look that up :)
Legend of Wooley Swamp. You'll love it!
Thanks for the recommendation!
There is a classical violin piece called " Devil's Trill" and I wonder if it influenced this masterpiece. Still in Saigon" is a great Charlie Daniels song as well. More of a rocker.
I love all your reactions!! This was a fun one.
Such a great song and story. Thanks for watching.
Best story telling is Hardy's "Wait in the truck"😮
Will add that one to my list. Definitely want to check it out.
Thank you.Really.Thank you.
Thanks so much for watching!
❤Legend of the Wooly Swamp...Charlie D 😊
I reacted to it. Great song!
Saeed, I don't ever subscribe to any channel until about 10 reactions in. However after my 4th view of a reaction on your channel, I had to subscribe! You're a genuine guy and are thoughtful in your reacts. I appreciate and your work. That's about all...
Thank you so much! That is very kind of you to say! Appreciate the support! Have a great day!
As a writer myself, I also love the story telling.
There is an interesting fact about the chorus; it perfectly describes what Johnny played...ie... "fire on the mountain" run boys run...etc are all names of Bluegrass songs that are standards.
It must've been an epic battle those songs are not easy.
Oh wow! Thanks for sharing that. An epic battle indeed!
I love he was spitting bars before it was a trend
LOL I grew up with this song (from the south of the US)! It was one of my karaoke staples when I was in high school. I wasn't really into country, but I made an exception for this.
Incredible song!
Charlie Daniels was one of a kind! Love him love his music. RIP Charlie! Love your reaction!
Amazing song! Definitely checking out more. Thanks for watching.
Its an amazing song. I just checked out the sequel to this one. The Devil Came Back to Georgia. Amazing storytelling.
Thanks so much for watching!
He had a lot of great storytelling songs.
Will check out more.
Saeed, you need to hear Garth Brooks, " If Tomorrow Never Comes." Garth is one of the best country singers in America and an icon in the industry. Bring your hanky....it is a tear jerker !
I will add that one to my list. Thanks for the recommendation!
Awesome!!
Great reaction! Such a fun song!
Amazing song! I just reacted to the sequel. Also great.
Thanks for watching.
Legend!! CDB IS FIRE!! 🥰🔥🎶
Loved your reaction.😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much!
Welcome Home Saeed, Charlie Daniels Band ROCKS
Incredible song! Just reacted to the sequel as well.
Iconic!!!
Wide and I saw him live at the Opry shortly before he passed. Played a mean guitar, too.
Incredible song and performer.
The sequel to this, "The Devil Comes Back to Georgia" by Mark O'Connor, with Charlie Daniels, Johnny Cash, and Travis Tritt, is also worth a listen.
I reacted to it!
@@SaeedReacts. Whoops! Looked through and didn't see it.
So awesome you saw it live. Its a great piece of art!
@@SaeedReacts. Not THIS concert specifically, but I did see him and his band in concert.
Charlie was certainly one of the great storytellers but there are many more. Harry Chapin, Bob Seger, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne and a favorite for me is early Bruce Springsteen. His first two albums are loaded with great stories.
✌🏼😎🇺🇸
American Country music is full of stories.
Definitely exploring more!
A reaction to the sequel of this song will be on the channel later today.
This is the second best song I grew up with, the first being the gambler ❤
Both great songs! Love these storytelling songs.
@@SaeedReacts. me too 😁
Looks like you're running through my playlist 😂
Pure coincidence 😅 (or not...?)
Awesome story!
Two stories off the top of my head…
Cole Swindell- You Should Be Here
Brooks and Dunn - Believe
I’ll be back with more !
Thanks for the recommendations.
I reacted to Believe, but its currently blocked on UA-cam. I put it on my patreon in the meantime. As soon as its unblocked I will post it to UA-cam
Thanks Saeed! 🎻🔥
Thanks so much for watching!
Awesome song!
Another narrative thats pretty close i think youd really like is 'salvation' by Citizen Cope. He does quite a few pure story telling songs, and is also just a generally awesome dude.
Great reaction to a classic. This was the kind of radio random that would get a whole carpool bouncing around
Thanks so much for watching and the recommendation!
Hope you check it out as well
I did react to it ! Awesome song.
I have not checked out there music yet, but i believe they are on my list. Will check and add this song as well. Thanks!
My favorite artists are Meat Loaf and Alice Cooper, both of them excellent story tellers, each of them in their unique way.
Thanks so much for the recommendations! Definitely want to check some of them out.
Yes I second that suggestion for Uneasy rider.
I reacted to Uneasy Rider since then. I also heard about a sequel, but havent checked that one out yet.
I'm loving your reactions and comments to The Charlie Daniels Band ( The Devil Went Down to Georgia )🎵🔥🔥🎵🎵🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much!
Classic.
The 80s live iron maiden hallowed be thy name.
great band
Thanks so much for the recommendations! Will add those to my list.
A good story is the legend of woolly swamp by them
That one is on my todo list.
So loved your reaction, wish I could do more than 1 thumbs up
This comment is worth a thousand thumbs up ❤️❤️❤️
Another group You've probably reacted to. Lynyrd Skynyrd. A story telling song called Gimmie Three Steps
The Ballad of Curtis Loew would be a good one from them as well.
I have not yet, but definitely will! Thanks for the recommendation!
@@SaeedReacts. Southern Blues Rock
Ahhh. This the one I missed. Not the sequel 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
This was my first reaction and then i found out about the sequel. Good stuff!
Marty Robbins! Thats storytelling.
