Peace through strength. I believe this 110%. I want the USA military always to have the best toys in the battlefield. Moving forward the more integrated the systems are air, sea and land the better for our young men and women that are there to fight. We may not have the best weapon in all categories, you can’t as things evolve. I want the best systems we possibly can have and hacking other nations computers and networks is just as important as what guns our men and women carry into combat. The future is the layers of systems and the last key is best trained. Like in Layette Gulf the Japanese had the USA out gunned out maned out everything. The USA navy had good training the captains in charge of those destroyer had the best tactic, best trained crew and equipment that was best we could make. The navy did not have any battle ships nor top line carriers but the pilots of the plains we had were the best trained and that skill paid off. The small fleet fought like a fleet larger then it was leading the Japanese to think there were more ships then there really were. Build the military the best fighting equipment you can, I will pay my share of the taxes for it.

Awesome work! I was talking to some friends today about this and how wonderful it would be if Ukraine had a few of these in key areas like cities, power plants and other vital infrastructure to be able to drive Russia out of their country.
At this moment Russia is constantly terrorizing civilians and it's diverting the strength of the UA because, well, they actually give a bit about their civilians!
Anyway, hopefully, one day systems like this will arrive there (and in Finland, but that will happen in the near future I guess)

If I was an enemy trying to overcome the defenses I would deploy a saturation tragedy using cheaper missile than the defenders missiles. Not sure what counter measures work for LASERs but I will be happy when that tech. matures.

@@ToreDL87 it's legit a credible threat. When you have 20 small boats all carrying explosives. Some or all of them can be remote controlled. And only one of them needs to get close to a ship to put a huge hole in its side.

Totally agree that the aegis can be fooled, and to add to that: Most frigates/destroyers these days arent really armored so doesnt need much of a bang to do a lot of damage.
@@_jay51Carriers travel with a security escort covering dozens square miles of ocean. The swarm tactics assume the entire security escort would have to be caught completely by surprise which is less likely than winning the Powerball. When an adversary vessel "sneaks" up on a U.S. vessel you can be assured they've been watched for at least an hour if not more. Laws and rules of engagement and just tact dictate to just let them be unless they are within a threat profile which is a very broad definition. If some fast boat does "get through" I can almost assure you 100% it was allowed to get through in order to allow an excuse to engage an adversary nation or serve a national, political or/and economic purpose

have you not thought about making a hypersonic anti-weapon missile defense system to ward off df15 df17 df21 df26 or df100 missiles, for example, making a new sm7 missile with super high speed mach 10+.

Or just saturating a specific area with a task force's deckguns with burst rounds calculated to explode at point where missile will be.

JUSTACHIPN railguns mate, that’s the next long range round.
Large chemical rounds just don’t have the range anymore. The Iowa only shoots at max range of 24 miles with its main guns. That’s just not far enough today
@@MrCoolguy425 Yep, Railguns are the way to go, with waaaaaaay longer range than conventional guns.
They have a lower range than missiles, but have a much shorter engagement time for mid-close range targets.

They have a disturbing ability to distill and simplify whats necessary militarily. For instance, they realized that the best way to cripple a fleet is to take out the aircraft carrier.
"Not so", you say. But consider THIS: an aircraft carrier has 6000+ people onboard. If it gets hit and begins to sink, THOSE PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SAVED. That would take the rest of the fleet to do. Or at least most of it.
Does the navy even have a contingency plan for such a scenario? This is how china THINKS.
We would be wise not to underestimate them.
@Anonymous Male My understanding is that their hypersonic "Carrier Killer" missiles have a range of over a 2000+ miles.
Strategically, that would mean all they would have to do is get in position FIRST and that would give them a 2000+ mile buffer zone against a carrier group.
Ok, I'm fudging a little bit; The Aegis Combat System on the Burke-Class destroyers would ultimately be the deciding factor here, but the pentagon already SAID they don't have anything in their arsenal to stop these missiles. They may have been LYING, but who knows?
The pentagon is funny. It's more political than a military organization these days. They imply that because the U.S. tends to severely underestimate and downplay it's capabilities

Could an Aegis ship share data with a non Aegis ship like say an Iowa?
Theoretically, yeah, but you’d need to develop software and most likely hardware to do it. Something that old would only slow it down.

The metal dispersants saturate the battlefield and high tech radars and satellite combine efforts to measure and record positionary data to produce visual and virtual intel. Or is that top secret?
Or just send an F-35 out there and let IT transmit everything back via the networked battlespace in real time across all spectrum to all assets in the air, on the water and on the ground. All whilst remaining undetectable.

@@sag8730 SMART MMR has both ballistic and low level SLCM track capability, it's also a lot lighter and energy efficient than SPY-1. The rotating SMART MMR in stare-mode is amazeballs.

I feel some protest wathing high speed flying missles and slowly moving ships which carry them. Probably, newest navy ships should move faster a bit.
You do realize that these ships not only have to generate enough force to move several thousand tons, but also have to push that same amount of water out of the way as they do it? 30+ knots is a fairly high speed for a ship. You can’t possibly expect a large warship to go the same speed as a car or plane.
