It's the annual fire season. Check previous years, you'll see this year's fires are pretty average when compared to the past 15 years. You'll also see that the affected area is not exclusive to Brazil. Huge fires are happening right now in Bolivia and Paraguay too. You won't hear about it tho, as the problem is being presented by the media as a consequence of right wing politics in Brazil.

The trees in north america grow tall and the wildfires don't normally affect them as it wipes out low lying brush making more room for growing trees. What If we cleared Amazon?
Well, Brazil lobbed by USA is already trying to find the answer.
The Amazon rainforest will be lost in 2037 unless protected.
yep and around 2055 there won't be enough fish in the ocean anymore to feed humans! Due to the way we fish on a large scale and all the plastics and all the chemicals, and many MANY other kinds of garbage we throw in our rivers wich make their way to the ocean.
ALL the waste from the lands and the rivers will be washed away and brought back to the ocean in the end so if humans keep multiplying themselves without thinking just a little bit more about our climate then we will suffer from our own mistakes in the near future.
Wietepietepatat humans don’t need to eat fish. They are just greedy and ignorant.
@@flowersforever5970 i know thats the irony of it lol
The Amazon will be lost before that at the rate of destruction it is currently seeing. Not to mention the things we eat would entirely change, fruit and vegetables would increase in price, fish would be more expensive, even meat would be more expensive due to the money it would take to feed them. There would be a worldwide famine that would take place all over the world.
@@commandersyfe5983 thats not even the worst part lol. Without the amazon there is a huge airfilter gone. The amazon helps cleaning the polluted air and water. No filter means that we are slowly poisoning ourselves with our own lifestyle. Lets hope that lots of people will learn about holistic lifestock management where lifestock is being used as a natural way to fertilize the earth so that grasslands can grow back. Even the most dry area's can be turned into grasslands again if they'd know how to integrate holistic lifestock management. It is something people have done wrong for the past 10000 years simply because we were not in the know.
Lifestock used to graze in huge numbers from spot to spot where they fertalize the ground and after the grass is eaten they move to the next spot to do the same. They only come back to spot 1 when the grasslands are fully growing back.
Since people are involved into moving lifestock around they've been doing it wrong. There needs to be at least 8/9 spots where the lifestock needs to graze in order to let the nature restore itself. Also it comes down to having LOTS of lifestock grazing at one spot at a time like in between 500-1000 animals. Then they move to spot B to do the same for couple weeks, then they go to spot C, spot D, spot E, spot F, spot G, spot H and when the animals are done pooping and peeing and eating on spot H then they go back to spot A again to start over the process. Only that is the way to stop the lands from desertification.

Whos here while it’s burning uncontrollably?
It is possible to controle it by military airplanes filt with water I don't know why they wouldn't do that I think because of money
@MaxAcVa2000 not neccisarily true, infact fire is much better for the soil than clear cutting, fire burns down resources to their base mineral forms, this creates massive amounts of potassium which is fertilizer, the amazon was once intentionally burned by tribal groups thousands of years ago and is one of the reasons why the soil is able to support many of it's species. Fertilizer used to be burned wood in clay pots (potash) and is the root for the word potassium.
Potassium is used in fruiting and blooming plants, and terra preta is a special type of dirt unique to the amazon that is incredibly rich in microbes and nutrients, in a relatively hard to farm region. Some historians think this is exactly how large Mayan and Aztec populations were supported, as well as other populations that thrived at one point in the amazon.
The deliberate burning on the scale we are doing so is extremely dangerous still however, the natural process is from forest fires, and is how forests recover. In the mass burning and clearing for agriculture the land is not given a chance to recover, permanently changing it.
We are at risk!
Every country should help in controlling this fire. I'm looking at you Donald the one who does not wan't to spend money on renewable resources.

This video got me thinking. I wonder if agriculture caused the Middle East to become so barren, because (irresponsible) agriculture causes deforestation decreasing evapotranspiration making a region more barren. Not really, if it was people from Brazil would have already died from the toxic monoxide smoke, it is probably least than a 1% of the rainforest *at the moment*
I just read from the news that after Bolsonaro was elected, the annual burning of the rain forest (to get more farm land) has increased by 83%. The farmers burn forest for farmlan usually during summer when it's drier. Some villages have compleatly been covered in smoke from all the burning and some areas have lost electricity due to the smoke.
It’s all getting clear we’d be idiots if we let it burn that much
Christian Doretti people of Brazil are already dead, and those are the indigenous people that live or used to live in peace with nature.
@@jokuvaan5175 83% because last year was one of the least fired. Considering the last 15 years, it's still average. And, only half of these fires 83% is in the Amazon Rainforest. French Guiana has grown by 120% in fire numbers, and the place is entirely in Amazon Rainforest, how about complaining about Macron too?
What an interesting scenario, but that would realistically never happen

It is bad what 's happening to the amazon right now but project was announced in September in Brazil, aims to restore 73 million trees in the Amazon by 2023.

Oh No No.
it's impressive and scary to think about such events, but scarier is to think we are a fifth of the way there.
amazing video by the way.
I completely agree, we’re like kids who haven’t realized how strong they aren’t yet. Thanks for watching!
Meh, 70% of the forests in Europe are gone and nobody cares. When developed nations destroy their farms and replant the original vegetations, I'll believe that the "love for the rainforests" is true. The American National Farmers Union amemorandum called "Farms here, forests there" just make the environmental concern seem very much based on American farms losing market to tropical competitors...
What's even more frightening is that we still let furries exist.
I hate to be "that guy," but we're going to get all the way there eventually. Humans, for all their benefits, have some pretty glaring limitations. One is that we have an insatiable thirst for wealth. We don't learn to live within the confines of the ecosystem where we live, we seek to dominate it; to alter it to our suiting and then trust in our innovation and smarts to compensate, and we allow the few of us driven by nothing but power and wealth to do basically what they want if we believe that the ends justify the means in moving toward that innovation. In other words, if we believe it helps everyone today, then we'll allow those with a thirst for money/power a free hand without seriously considering the effects it has down the road. History is shockingly littered with examples of human shortsightedness. Second, we humans are woefully incapable of seeing the end game. All around us we act/react in a way that says we only care about what's right in front of us. To us 50, 25, ten, even five years in the future seems like a long way off, so we almost always ignore long-term damage in favor of immediate gratification. Lastly, we don't act until it's a crisis. We spend all kinds of efforts identifying problems and then who's to blame for them, but surprisingly little effort is spent on how to steer clear of issues that miiiight be a crisis later because hey, "what if we do all this stuff and spend all this money and make all these sacrifices and a crisis DOESN'T occur? Then what?! I'm not giving up my A/C and cheeseburgers and monster SUV unless you can prove to me without any shadow of a doubt that if I don't the earth will plummet into the sun, just so a bunch of tree huggers can go watch a bunch of monkeys swing in threes on another continent." So because we can always find someone to counter an argument in any science that doesn't produce one, indisputable fact we do nothing (like the guys who refuse to believe climate change is real because they step outside and it's cold). That is we do nothing until we simply can't avoid it any longer and when, sadly, there's no way to completely eradicate the damage done. What's a crisis? Well, human behavior suggests a crisis is defined as something that has, will, or very likely could affect US. Not us as a collective, but us as an individual. We don't seem to offer any real signs that we truly care enough about anything that's only affecting others, in anything other than short bursts (like when we all donate water/food/blankets after a hurricane, but then forget about it after the next news cycle and stop contributing further or when we give huge amounts of food during Thanksgiving and Christmas, but do nothing the rest of the year, as if hunger only happens at the holidays). But, when the event affects us personally, THEN it's a crisis and we leap into action. So a global crisis, to me, will happen only once we humans have f*cked up this planet so badly that huge, vast majorities of our national populations are being personally affected by the damage we've done. Only then will we care, and even then we'll only care about what helps US locally, even if that hurts somewhere else more. Honestly I don't know what can be done differently because it feels to me like doing so would require a fundamental shift in the way humans behave, and I don't see that as likely until we have no other choice. The only uncertainly is, which crisis will effect enough of us directly to force that change? Even then, there will be a significant number of humans who won't give a crap because they will have the resources to avoid the penalty the rest of us will pay. Rosy picture I paint, isn't it?
@@AtlasPro1 Who's this "we" you talk about? The only way to protect the rain forest is for the west to invade Brazil and protect the rain forest with military forces. As Brazil's population increases people will be moving into and cutting down the rain forest for living space, how will you stop them? Forcibly remove families who's only crime is their desire to get out of the crime ridden cities of Brazil? What will your leftist friends think of that? Are you ready to support such a move since it would be to save the rain forest from "evil" humans?
it's weird how this is just showing up in my recommended during the preventable tragedy happening in the Amazons right now.
“If”. I feel sad that it really has to be asked in the first place
Chage "if" to "when" and despair.
It’s actually horrifying that this was recommended during the burning.
I also noticed how the description changed due to the wildfires currently.
Let's all just live everyday like it's our last because it's coming up quicker than expected.
The president of Brazil is way ahead of you man - getting paid by cattle ranchers and logging companies to illegally deforest and burn down the Amazon to clear land for those industries 🤑🤑🤑
