This whole time after seeing what happened, my first thought was that the reason it happened to Chris Rock is because he reminded me of the kid who got picked on a lot growing up. I feel if it were anyone else, the slap would never have happened. I learned today, even with being a fan of Chris for years, that he actually was picked on growing up. Will should be ashamed but part of me wishes Chris would have throat checked him back. Much respect for turning the other cheek and continuing on.
Aww after years of him being bullied, for being the small black man who couldn’t physically fight back, ppl saw that and took advantage, and now that thing that once made him weak is now finally being recognized as his strength! Good for him!!
Pleased to see someone else state that you need to be incredibly smart. They often get branded with oh their just funny, seriously not that hard. Like yourself, I’ve realized the greats were yes, smarter than a lot of us.
Chris keeps taking the high road and coming across as a consummate professional and a gent. Meanwhile, everyone forgot that Will issued an "apology", just like everyone forgot that he won an Oscar. I'm still looking for a list of all the actors who stood up and gave him an ovation after watching him physically attack someone on stage. I think we would all benefit from knowing which actors we should no longer respect.
Easy I think Will has a lot of marital problems and he felt he had to do something but slapping him was the wrong thing I don’t believe he knew she had a hair condition. Come on all guys over 50 are losing hair and they are not happy with it but they don’t slap someone because that doesn’t fix anything. Now if he thinks he was picking at his wife I get it you can say something but to attack someone is a violent crime. If I had been security he would of been in handcuffs. They should have got between them before he had a chance to hit him where they were I don’t know but they weren’t doing their job. They add there to protect everyone not just the gold statues
The whole thing about this situation Chris Rock, is a professional comedian with a clear stable mind..God bless you man..keep us laughing as you done for years.

I love hearing that Chris Rocks’ concerts are selling at a phenomenal rate. Chris Rock is a standup dude. I am now going to proceed to wipe my ass with Will Smith’s latest DVD movie.
Tom Harris… why defend Will Smith? Write out the facts on paper and read the words. Consider jokes comedians have told at shoes in the past and at the same show. How is this reasonable? It’s not cool or tough. He absolutely wouldn’t have done that if the person telling the joke fit a different visual description. It’s weak, and the way the show continued to play out after that moment was weak as well. A bunch of insecure artists that forget that their roles aren’t real life. Will is too far removed from being a dude from Philly with edge… now he is an entitled millionaire.
@@Kevin-ui8cz and you know that because? Using that same argument, Chris wouldn't have told that joke to someone else of a visual statue or background. It happened. Move on.
Chris Rock during this situation IRL has shown that he’s at whole different level of intellectual and emotional security.. like he’s just a more evolved human? *if we all learned a little something from him the world would be a safer and more peaceful place* 💯
It's amazing how Chris Rock has been so composed throughout this past few days. If I got slapped on stage and public television I would have left the stage and called for security.

I’ve always liked Will Smith’s performances, his movies. I think he’s a good actor although my perception of him on a personal level changed a few years back when I saw him interact with a child in a negative manner. The kid could not have been more than 10/12 yrs old when he mustered up the courage to ask for a selfie. I was within earshot when the boy was talking to his parents and he was excitedly nervous about approaching Smith but his parents encouraged him to do so, they didn’t see anything wrong with it since Smith appeared to be alone. Needless to say, Smith was not verbally kind to the boy and he refused the selfie. I’ve lived in LA county my entire life and I’ve run across many celebs throughout the years. I view them as ppl who put their pants on one leg at a time just like myself, I’m not a “star struck” kind of person but to hear and watch that child get excited over Smith’s presence was really adorable.. until Smith shot him down. That particular incident is something not easily forgotten in my mind and I’ve never viewed Will Smith the same again. I thought he came off as being very immature/cruel and the incident with Chris Rock didn’t help change my opinion. It certainly wasn’t the time nor place to be creating a scene and if he gets banned from the Academy, he only has himself to blame. I’m not a huge fan of Jada either, not bc of her public affair (or her “entanglement” rather) but bc she come off to me as a self righteous know it all. I’ve seen a few of her Red Table Talk episodes which I think is rather clever if I’m being honest, I’ll give her credit for that.. but she gets way too opinionated about other ppl’s business. If it were another celeb who got caught in an entanglement (as she puts it) with one of their children’s friends, you know her opinion would be all out there and not in a good way. As far as I’m concerned, her affair should have remained private and dealt with between husband and wife but you know we haven’t heard the last of it.. such is the life of a celebrity. 🤷🏻♀️
Chris deserves respect. He was shorter than Will but he stood taller than him that night. Never saw such level of professionalism and dignity after a slap like that
Pfizer sponsors the Oscar's. They're about to release a medication for alopecia. Chris Rock is now going on tour. The slap was staged. If it's on TV it's fake. I don't know why it's so hard for people to see something so simple
I love Chris Rock, to be able to go right back to presenting is nothing but true professionalism. It may not seem like it, but I hope he knows that he has a lot of support
The interviewer handled that last interaction so well. Didn’t push it for a sound bite from some rando guy on the street and left a potentially uncomfortable situation on a good note.
I love when news people are so aware of their environment they know exactly how to interact with the community. Check out the way the commentator fist bumped the brotha. Kudos.
I always liked Chris Rock. Now I like him even more. The consumate professional. He could have reacted very differently to being bitch slapped by Will Smith...but he didn't. He maintained composure and kept the show flowing. And on his first performance since the slap, he again took the high road. Amazing. He's such a class act.
Wasn't a fan before. After the Oscar's, now a fan. All of the positive comments about Chris rock and everyone coming out to see him. I'm so happy for him .
I'm so proud of Chris... he didn't full on talk about the situation without completely ignoring it. Truly a class act. He wants to process it first. Smart. Slow to speak... rare character and one you wouldn't expect from a comedian who could easily come up with tons of material from this.
He came to his already prepared show and delivered his show to the audience that paid for his show. The audience didn't pay for an Oscar rundown. I'm glad he stayed professional. I'm glad that there aren't tons of negative comments towards Will and keeping the focus on Chris.
I saw someone comment about how gracefully Chris handled this whole situation, and how mature he is for “turning the other cheek” hahah but yeah, I have definitely gained great respect for Chris, and I admire his ability to stay cool, calm, and collected. I don’t know if I would be capable of holding back from reacting and swinging on Will. One thing I haven’t seen people taking into account is the fact that, especially for men, when someone violates you and puts their hands on you, and there are a bunch of people there watching you, your pride and ego will usually cause you to hit the person back and try to beat the person’s @ss.. because when there is a huge crowd watching, people will feel embarrassed and their pride will make them react in ways to save your image. No one wants to be bitch slapped in front of a live audience of “celebrities” and on national television! Especially for a man, when society drills into you that you should never show weakness, and you should never let another man put his hands on you like that and get away with it. The whole toxic “alpha male” and “beta male” thing. People are much more inclined to save face and try to beat the sh!t out of anyone who attacks you, because your ego and pride are on the line, with people witnessing you get smacked. I would probably feel insecure and less than a man if I didn’t hit him back, not only out of principle because the person hit me, but also to prove myself and restore my bruised ego. But that’s nonsense because the people witnessing it don’t matter. Their opinions don’t matter. Being an adult and being able to exercise restraint is much more commendable to me. I really respect Chris for how he handled it. Some people will have the toxic outlook I was referring to and call Chris a b!tch for not swinging on Will, and they will have an immature outlook on the matter. But Chris did what a professional should do. A mature adult who has nothing to prove to the audience or the world. People keep bringing up the fact that Chris is so much smaller and that’s why Will did what he did, and while I do agree with that probably being the case, that Will wouldn’t have done that to a much bigger dude, but don’t be fooled.. I’ve seen MANY short dudes with wayyy less body mass, lay out guys who are 3 times their size. I have seen guys who are totally jacked and look like WWF wrestlers, and then you see them fight and they are a huge pu$$y who cannot fight for sh!t. So don’t count Chris out in a hypothetical fight against Will. Anyway, sorry for typing a whole book, but yeah, I just really respect Chris Rock for the way he handled things, and I seriously think Will Smith suffers from some sort of mental illness. I’m not only basing this off of the Oscars situation. I’ve watched several videos on UA-cam of him and his family and other sh!t, and it seems like in damn near every single video, Will ends up crying. He is definitely a bit emotionally unstable. His and Jada’s marriage is CLEARLY toxic, and her cheating on him and all the other stuff she subjects him to are causing him to become increasingly unhinged. He needs to divorce her, for real. It was their negative relationship and it was her reaction to Chris’s joke that triggered Will’s response and took him out of his character. Anyway, Will is an amazing actor, and I’ve always been a fan, but he was out of line for sure. Proud of Chris. And that will conclude my book 😂
Chris deserves to be highly elevated by all his peers for his stoic professionalism under such excruciating and humiliatingly circumstances! Chris Rocks🤙

Pressing charges isn’t the only way lawyers could be involved. He could be speaking with lawyers and continue to do so for months before any lawsuit is made public… And that lawsuit might never be heard of by the public if they settle it quickly and no disclosures are signed. That’s what I may do if I was Chris, have my lawyer reach out to smiths lawyers and tell them the current request / negotiate behind closed doors, and then walk away with 30 million dollars In silence.
CMON PREACH PREACHER !!!!!!!!!!!

Welll yeah, good thought.
I was saying this just now
Chris Rock is incredibly smart, most comedians are. He'll figure things out. I'm just glad that people are realizing what a professional he truly is.
Pleased to see someone else state that you need to be incredibly smart. They often get branded with oh their just funny, seriously not that hard. Like yourself, I’ve realized the greats were yes, smarter than a lot of us.
If Will didn't slap Chris it would be on Chris for his inappropriate remark
@@debralambert1475 is it a bad movie?
Chris Rock went to University, Will did not. Its easy to tell in their carriage.
Chris Rock definitely sets a better example in of behavior than the other person..
Much respect to Chris. He is showing what professionals are supposed to do.
And Will was showing what he is. Not a good person

@Tom Harris Source: Trust me Bro 🤠
Tom Harris… why defend Will Smith? Write out the facts on paper and read the words. Consider jokes comedians have told at shoes in the past and at the same show. How is this reasonable? It’s not cool or tough. He absolutely wouldn’t have done that if the person telling the joke fit a different visual description. It’s weak, and the way the show continued to play out after that moment was weak as well. A bunch of insecure artists that forget that their roles aren’t real life. Will is too far removed from being a dude from Philly with edge… now he is an entitled millionaire.

@@kellyroberts7268 yes! couldn't imagine. 😞
Kudos to that brother for not throwing another black man under the bus for mainstream media satisfaction

Smiths will pay more if the lawsuit doesn’t cause their reputation any more damage.
