    Great information! Ive taken my PANRE twice and have opted to to take the PANRE-LA this time largely based on the information you have provided. Smarty PANCE is awesome and I used if for my last 2 PANRE exams. I appreciate you!

    @TheMedicineCouch Hi Michele! Just FYI, I have viewed most all of your videos and have been researching all the options for PANRE-LA review. I am due to start in Jan. 2025. After lots of comparing and review reading, I purchased the SmartyPance yesterday using your discount code and have not looked back. It is by far the best review course I have seen in my 24+ years as a PA.
    I have nothing but positive things to say about all that I have reviewed in the last 2 days. I still work full time as most of us do, so this looks like the very best option for all of us trying to adjust and adapt to the new LA format. Thanks again for your videos. Super helpful and supportive. I appreciate your honest, calming approach to it all.
    Best regards, ElizabethC.

    I am on my first quarter of the PANRE-LA. I used Chat-GTP as my only resource. I used the microphone option to dictate the questions into Chat GTP. It did not supply the correct answer 100% of the time but was pretty darn close. I did notice that if I read the choices for answers as well as the question the answers seemed more accurate with a better explanation for the answer. There was a question about antibiotic choice for Lyme in pregnancy. It chose doxycycline as the treatment. I knew this was not correct. So I asked "What antibiotic should be used to treat Lyme in pregnancy?" It answered this correctly. It is not perfect but it is a great resource to use.

      I love the idea about using the voice dictation and also about asking it follow up questions. I suppose you could also ask it other clarification questions like why another answer couldn’t be correct. Thanks for commenting and sharing with us your experiences with chat, GTP!

      For multiple reasons, it sounds like you are cheating

      You’re welcome! Good for you for signing up for smartyPANCE. I use it pretty heavily for the test. One thing I would advise is that you use practice questions to get used to how to use the searchable blueprint, especially the free search feature. It took me several quarters of doing the test before. I really understood how it works. I could’ve saved myself some frustration if I would’ve figured it out earlier!

      @@TheMedicineCouch have you done a more in depth tutorial video on smarty pance answering questions? If not that might be a great video. It would help others navigate the site easier.

      @@jethrobodine4638 I haven't. Do you mean something like me running through some practice questions and showing how I search and where I find the answers?

      @@TheMedicineCouch yes running through some questions and how you navigate the resource. Also what you learned later on to make the site easier.

      @@jethrobodine4638 ok, got it. I'll think about it. Off hand, I'm not sure how much I can expand on the tutorial that already exists in this video, but perhaps I could go through 4 or 5 questions highlighting different tips. I could see how that may be helpful. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Thank you for the great video and tutorial about the exam. 26 years in practice I am doing PANRE-LA Way too busy in Cardiac Surg for conventional methods. Do you know if I open a question and see the content area its coming from and then exit I am still good to comeback and not have started it, or do I need to store it to be safe? Thx again love your site. Frank

    • @TheMedicineCouch
      @TheMedicineCouch  9 місяців тому +2

      Hi Frank! You are fine to open the question, look at the topic, and then exit out of the test without storing the question. The only time that you need to store a question is if you don’t want to answer it, but want to continue to do more questions in the current session you have open. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    I am taking quarter 2…I just was given a question that I had in quarter 1 that I got CORRECT in Quarter 1? How does that make any sense? I thought the repeated questions were to help you learn..?? Why not give me something I got wrong and see if I learned from my mistake? (And possibly improve my score)

    • @TheMedicineCouch

      I understand the frustration! I think we are all scratching our heads with this test now. It was perfectly fine the first 4 quarters, but changed drastically these last 2.

    I hate the PANRE-LA. it is just as ridiculous as the PANRE. Something that should be so simple to answer, about things that you see in your every day practice, don’t even come with correct answers. Sometimes they’re multiple steps down the road but the question is asking you what your first step would be. It is so frustrating. I really hate NCCPA. It is nothing more than a money grab. These test questions are incredibly frustrating. Although I will agree that they are better than what they were back in 2016, you know the test question that would be linked with an image that was completely not related to the question that was being asked, but still. I have to wonder who in the world is writing these test questions

    • @TheMedicineCouch
      @TheMedicineCouch  8 місяців тому +1

      I agree it is beyond frustrating. I have had multiple questions this quarter with several correct answers or ones where I, and my sources, didn't agree on the answer they chose. I know they actually have practicing PAs that contribute to question writing, but you do have to wonder sometimes!

    • @BeyondAestheticsAZ

      I agree 100%. Many scholarly sources (as well as my many years of experience, and many of my seasoned and highly respected colleagues) found some of the "correct" answers to be wrong as well. This exam is NOT any indication of my capabilities to provide stellar high-quality patient-centered and evidence based medicine care to patients.@@TheMedicineCouch
