When people restore their tractors, they do them up better than when they were new. I think at the factory they had the manifold on the engine, and then painted it. I almost never change the manifold studs, as you run a much greater risk breaking them when you're trying to remove them. Usually they come out though. I have never used a stud remover. To remove the studs, I just double nut them. That's often the only way you can get those pulley set screws... They can be nasty.
IH quit using that round IHC in the 40's sometime it should be just IH on the casting. I'm surprised they casted it like that. Like yer channel alot! Thanks for doin it!
When i was in high school i used to try to milk all the gas in the hose after the pump turned off by squeezing the lever and shaking it. In my defense, i was 17 and driving a '68 Continental. Was living way after the gas crunch, driving a car from well before it.
Friend tested the multi fuel same hose at the pump when himself and another individual would fill up street bikes. One bike that got fuel first would run but could tell wasn't the happy. Other would fill up first and then same thing. 2nd to fill never had issues. Since the bikes wanted premium, and unless another bike or sports car got it just before you.
Lots of really great information ! At least you're doing everything the right way and not half a$$ing it . Thanks for sharing and have a great evening !
Excellent video Gino :) also B414 DESIEL motor are same way doing belts too Generator & Alternator plus the Water pump to Crankshaft too! Also up hear In Ontario Canada we have 15 to 10 % Ethonal in fuels , 89 has 10 to 5 % Ethonal , 91 to 96 or 100 octane gas has no Ethonal % use in Airplane or race cars or older vechiles made before 1987 with Carbs or TBI at fuel stations also DESIEL fuel has 15 to 5% Ethonal too! Plus furnace oil low grade DESIEL has 10 to 5% Ethonal ! Also Farm gas Ethonal 10 % in 87 octane gas , farm DESIEL has 15 to 5 % Ethonal gas to with Purple color die in too ! But as of May 1994 Petro Canada fuel stations have Tactrol in fuels to! Farmers in my area use 89 to 91 octane gas from Shell or other companies Ethonal does like Carburetor motors too also fuel injection cleaners to plus 10w30 no synthetic engine too or 15W40 to ! Also one thing! Also one thing clean old gasket and plus to use on drill a small grind stone! I have tough shoulders Gino and take blame Lol!
Good day fro Kitchener Waterloo area Ont. So ethanol is in diesel too, but I guess because everything is mechanical it should not matter, So were are u from? Thanks
I don’t run ethanol in any of my equipment I learned that it will eventually screw up the carburetor I learned that the hard and expensive way! One question I do have when the season is over and any tractor that you don’t use in the winter how do you winterize it? WhatI used to do when I had my John Deere B was I would put gas stabilizer in it, run it for five minutes so that the fuel system was treated. Then I would pull the battery and cover it with the biggest tarp I could find and believe me getting the biggest tarp was not cheap!
We had a Dyno day and one guy ran his tractor with standard muffler and then straight piped and straight pipe gave 1.3 extra horsepower 😳 but did sound like was putting out way more💪👍
Saw the same thing the other day about the ethanol free/ethanol pump. There is actually a notice saying at least the first 5 gallons may be contaminated with ethanol.
Over here 🏴 non ethanol fuel is virtually non existent would probably use a full tank driving around trying to get it 🤔😟 seems the powers that be would rather develop treatments to add to the fuel 🤔 good video Red Power 💥👍
Nice tractor.ur completing it.i did notice grease fitting water pump paint covering it.must be not greased since painted.where u painting manifold dont forget petcock for running milk pail if the power goes out 😖
I never had any luck loosening that dang pulley. Either had to use a undersized belt and roll it on or them link belts also work decent... Whats your opinion on carb needles rubber tipped or no?
As a novice mechanic that's willing to learn, are you at all worried about flinging some rust and/or wire brush pieces into the cylinders? Maybe it's just my OCD acting up.
Looks like we've been using the same barber!! Lol...love it brother!

Just having fun. Have a good day.
I never thought of that with the gas but you're 100% right
The non ethanol definitely makes a difference. Luckily our pumps have a totally separate hose for it.

Quik Trip has a separate hose for non- ethanol gas and the cover on the handle is red,
New subscriber......I like your attitude and style. No nonsense. Thanks!
Appreciate it

Getting it done💥BOOM💥 almost there!
I noticed that the upper water pump hose was bulging on the engine head side. Is it possibly the wrong size or cut too long?
He cut it too long lol
@@FarmallFanatic 😂👍🏻
@@America-First2024 I mean they sell them pre cut to perfect size why not just order one
@@FarmallFanatic that’s true! I’ve bought them for my H.
@@America-First2024 You can buy an entire set for like eighteen dollars... It's just being careless

Full tanks with fuel treatment
@@FarmallFanatic that’s what I did when I had my Tractor
Lol, the suspense is killing me, hahahaha. I'm looking forward to seeing it in the field, lol. See you in the next one.
Chrome stack adds 10 horsepower.

5 gallons is unacceptable
@@FarmallFanatic Especially if you are filling a 5 gallon or smaller gas can.

Rubber tipped with non-ethanol gas
@@FarmallFanatic awesome 👍 thanks for the advice I really appreciate it
where did u buy the stud pullers from? maybe this fall our A will get a new Manifold.
I might have got them on ebay

Is the TA the only difference between the SM and the SMTA?
Torque amplifier and independent pto.. mine has power steering as well
Great I am waiting for it too .
God bless you

I was being very careful and I also reached my finger into the hole and made sure that they're very clean
Getting closer! Enjoying the repair content. Is that Pizza Hut still open? All of ours around here are closed.
Oh yea, they just remodeled
Did your pizza huts get rid of the buffet and salad bar? Ours all did. I hate it
Them old engineers was NOT dumb. that is the same procedure as the VW air cooled motor, and the old Ford flat heads.
Not 100% sure but I think that copper coat is more for certain types of head gaskets. Not so much for exhaust manifold gaskets.
It's high temp, I've used it for both with good results. Just a light coat is all you need.
It's definitely for exhaust manifolds as well
take studs out run flat file across to clean and level
While you have the manifold off, you should have just install a turbo. With a larger carburetor you could increase your horsepower by about 50%.🤔
Bust out the final drives 😆
We started having rec gas delivered to the farm in bulk. Easier and significantly cheaper.
BOOM !
i would paint that with high temp clear
Yes that is correct. But do you know why their is only 4 washers? The 4 washers allow the exhaust manifold to expand and contract as needed.
I know there are 6 on some and 4 on the others.. that is what I know.
