Well they tried with Steve Jordan. We'll see how that works out. I will point out that Daryl Jones has been playing bass longer for the Stones than Bill Wyman ever did . . .
All members past and present had an impact/ contribution Michael, they are one of the bands where all members were involved and not a bit part, talented people, i would suggest that micks driving force and obvious talent took them to the top, always the biggest show in town having moved playing live from the clubs, then at the start of bigger events in arena's and took rock music tours bigger again doing the stadium stuff, over the decades some fantastic artists and bands got a support slot in a stones show which was a dream for anyone up and coming as didn't get any bigger and all done their own job, sorry for the lengthy comment Michael but I'm sure your cool about it,
En 1975 se publicó 'Metamorphosis'. Las ediciones deluxe de 'Sticky fingers', 'Exile On Main St.', 'Goats head soup', 'Some Girls' y 'Tatto you' cuentan con un segundo disco con canciones descartadas y/o tomas y mezclas alternativas de algunas canciones de los álbumes.
This was recorded during the Sticky Finger recording sessions in 1969.Later on,it would be rerecorded for EOMS (1972).Love the guitars on this version, and Mick still trying to put words to it!
No all down the line seems to be dated between december 1971 and March 72. Guess This super version is a pre demo tape maybe recorded at NellCote d'urine the exil.period.i guess it was recorded by Bill Wyman and Nicky Hopkins..

What was that reggae track they did that ub40 later did and also before ub40 I think Eric Donaldson did it it think Eric covered most ub40 tracks before ub40
What is amazing is the difference with the finished version. This song is for me the summit of Exile. Everything is top on the electric version: Mick incredible vocals, Keith guitars, the bass, the horns and Charlie fantastic drums. They never could nail it as well live...
Yeah me too. Been a fan since 1967 and I find the more relaxed and improvisationaly they play. The better they sound. They sound great polished ( Time waits for no on / can’t you hear me knocking) but there loose and gritty and dirty stuff now that’s the shit ( as Kieth would say. ) lol.
When those drums kick in, its the Stones. Unmistakable.
RIP , Charlie.
You can't be replaced
Keith is the riff master as someone else said . I agree !!

The Human Riff once again demonstrating why he’s the greatest.
Mick's vocals are very pure and unaffected here😊👍❤️
Keith got a great feel for rhythmn guitar. You cannot teach that. Locks in with Charlie so well.
Bless our Charlie, forever!

I wouldn't diss Mick's vocals on much, if not here. Who could touch him on Wild Horses, my fav song period, or Angie?
Wish the Stones would release a double CD of rough cut songs.

absolutely
The strength of Keith’s acoustic playing here is fantastic. He’s showcasing his rhythm work as one of the GOATs.
No way dude sorry, remember Clapton with cream, remember SRV ,Gilmour, Page, beck, gallagher, bb King, gary moore, Santana...
So your point is? You listed some great lead/soloists in reply to my point about KR “showcasing his rhythm work”.
Chas - I was gonna call this guy out for throwing up names like Clapton 'til I saw your reply. You nailed the idiot.
Keith is the GOAT of songwriting (his guitar is his magic wand).
You know when mick goes a Ohh it drives them on! Nothing better then someone lovong your song

Jst so good. Only band that make me really feel. And from where they are from its crazy they can do this rock n roll
so completely beautiful
60plus years,, ALL DOWN THE LINE,,, YEAH
That's how fucking good songs get written.
Acoustic before electric.
Keith has mentioned that he often starts his writing with acoustic guitars.
Yes sir.
If it sounds good on acoustic it'll likely sound good on electric. The reverse isn't true.
U know i still love them Rolling Stones.
The Rolling Stones are PURE MAGICAL MUSICAL MUSICIANS!
ok beyond beautiful
Wonderful guitar! ☺️☺️ go Keith!
aWESOME! I used to have this version on an old cassette. I was disappointed this version didn't make it onto the Exile bonus disc.
The Rolling Stones can play anything rock blues country raggae
And Jazz Charlie studied it

Think I prefer this version
@@Guitarpeacepic your choice. Not mine. And by far
The Exile track is one the most brilliant Rockers ever committed to vinyl !! 😄🎉🥳
This is merely a nice glimpse into how they make songs!
There's a fantastic version on 'Totally Stripped' , & it's definitely NOT ' unplugged' !! 🎉🎉
I love this version of the song, now prefer it to the electrified version. Charlie Watts was the best drummer in the world.
I think this is better than the final Exile version. And that was fucking incredible 😂.
Why?
The song in its beginnings.
Much better than the one Mick usually sings on the stages
Fantastic.
J'adore c'est chanson des Stones
SUBLIME ! JE TROUVE QU 'ELLE SONNE COUNTRY ! 👍👍👍
Oui c'est une belle version, très pure.
Great Charlie drums and his little delayed time make the sound so magic
I like this a lot better than the album version

Great version of a great song
Thank you for this

Really good to listen to this early version, so we can see the diference, thank you!

I love Keith more than anybody. But what are Brian Jones and Ron Wood doing in these photos? This was all about Mick Taylor.
Not sure why Woody is pic'd here - this is way before he came along.
Que Bueno,!!!
So which comes first the Keef riff or the song?....In this case the song
You got the riff here, on acustic, no big difference in the riff.

It’s good, but they didn’t have the part yet where he says you can’t say yes, and you can’t say no. That really filled out the song in my opinion.
