This is your BEST video where you really explain everything and you're not using a turkey brine product that many can't find or afford. You told us all the ingredients we need. Just wish you'd say the actual measurements of the pot and the ingredients. But men don't usually focus on that stuff anyways.
I have never cooked a turkey but was asked by a friend to make one for our Friendsgiving. Looked for brines and used yours except I used white sugar. I brined in the bottom portion of a crab pot for 24 hrs. Then, I slathered a butter compote with rosemary and thyme all over the bird for another 24 hours. Ohhhh we, my friends loved it, and I was so proud. Now I'm being asked to make another one 😂.

I've done brine before. I've waited 24 hours and noticed a little bit of a difference. This year, I tried your brine except I used pure maple syrup with it and also let it sit for 1 1/2 days. Boy oh boy! What a difference! I did notice a bit of saltiness, but not so much that it was a deal breaker. Came out juicy and flavorful. Best turkey I've ever done. Will definitely do again

Great video. My mom used to Brine her turkeys all the time for the holidays and I would help her out. Since she passed away my sister had been doing the turkey, but I'm hosting Christmas this year so I was taking the duty of brining the turkey. Your video is very helpful so that I can get an idea of what I was getting myself into. Much appreciation, sir. 😊
Let me tell y'all something!!! I followed these exact instructions and I will NEVER and I mean NEVER do it any other way, THE BEST turkey I ever had! It was juicy as h3ll😂 I will never go back to injection, I will brine everything I can from now on, thanks AB
Down here in the Louisiana we use half Tony chachrie Creole seasoning and half salt. Some use just the Tony's by itself instead of salt. Luv brining.. Great job..
I do salt, brown sugar, peppercorns, Orange, rosemary sprigs, and thyme. I will add bay leaf next time. I get a bag of ice and pour the hot brine over the ice. There is usually some ice that doesn’t melt. Put in the bird, add orange and herbs. Put in cool garage overnight.
Made my first turkey without any help using this brine and the turkey was so juicy. The only changes I made was I used fresh herbs instead of dried and I only used 1.5 cups of salt instead of 2. For reference, I made a 20lb turkey, no injection. Coated the outside and under the skin with garlic herb butter, seasoned it, put onion, lemon, whole garlic, fresh rosemary, thyme, sage inside the turkey and it was incredibly flavorful. My family and guests were raving about it, there was NOTHING left!
My guy! Thank you for the video. Getting ready to brine and then do 40 minutes of pecan smoke. I've looked at 8 videos from the top search for Turkey Brine Recipes before seeing this video. Your video ended up being the GOAT. None of them mentioned about slightly boiling the brine first to help the salt, sugar, and other mixings marry together before using as a brine.
I made my first brine today! I added sour orange, clementines, a red onion, mustard seeds, all spice, fresh Bay leaves, black pepper, Swedish Pearl sugar, 15 garlic cloves, rosemary, thyme and salt. I've been adding Ice on the hour (no room in the fridge) and the house smells divine!
Great recipe Ab! Brine is life. Ever since I brined my first turkey I have never looked back. The main reason for brining is to add moisture to the bird and make your cooking more forgiving to avoid getting that nasty dry turkey texture that you probably had in your younger years. Of course if you are infusing things in the bird you might as well impart some flavor in there. Brining will help your turkey no matter how you cook it afterwards (deep fry/smoke/oven/etc.) so give it a try.
A b I’ve been brining over 30 years I have never boiled water I always used cold water kosher salt, white sugar ,ice is a must 10 hrs or over nite comes out juice & seasoned too the bone delicious
Good stuff there! I use a 50/50 apple cider and water, salt, brown sugar, peppercorns, bay leaf, a knob of ginger, garlic, onions, oranges, Gochujang and a cinnamon stick. The Gochujang gives it an awesome colour and fruity flavour, with very little heat. Since it is just the two of us now, I spatchcock it and smoke it. I smoke my par-roasted root veggies during the last hour of smoking. Thank you for sharing! Happy Thanksgiving!

Not so much with Brining, but when my family makes Turkey soup, we use salted meat. We do a double boil on the salt meat, which basically means we boil the salted meat for about 20 minutes, dump the water and then boil it again for 20 minutes. Remove the salted meat and chop it up to mix with the soup. The reason we use salted meat instead of salt, is because it adds just a nice taste to the soup. I would imagine it would have the same effect for brining. The perfect salt level. We double boil it because the amount of salt in the meat is way too much. So on the 2nd boil it actually mellows out the stock to a nice flavor.
I always put my brine in a ice bath in my sink to cool it. I don't like putting ice in the brine because I don't want to dilute it. Then keep the bucket in a cooler with ice to make sure it doesn't get warm. Sometimes we get those warm days in November. Nobody want a funky smelling turkey when you go to prep it for Thanksgiving morning
Hey quick question to anyone. Are you supposed to remove the leaves and lemons n all before pouring into the Turkey or just wash it when it’s time to cook it?? Thanks
I would recommend leaving lemons, herbs when you dump into the bucket with the turkey to continue getting the flavors. After the brine process, take it out and rinse off and pat dry the turkey -- so when you season the turkey, it will stick
AB! You did one of these 5 years ago. You used veggie broth... this one you used water. What's the difference boe? Oh and I brine and inject! Living on the edge!

We double boil it because the amount of salt in the meat is way too much. So on the 2nd boil it actually mellows out the stock to a nice flavor.
Love this have you ever brine the turkey and put it on the grill to make turkey bbq?
✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾 I put so many people up on game on those big bags from the Dollar tree it ain't even funny going back some years now
What big bags? I’m going today!!!!
I am so excited 🤭👍🏼👍🏼
AMAZING!!!! Made this bring for my Thanksgiving turkey it was truly delicious.
This That Bang Bang Channel. 💪🏾💪🏾💯💯😎😎💃🏽💃🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥
💯🤤
Hey quick question to anyone. Are you supposed to remove the leaves and lemons n all before pouring into the Turkey or just wash it when it’s time to cook it?? Thanks
I would recommend leaving lemons, herbs when you dump into the bucket with the turkey to continue getting the flavors. After the brine process, take it out and rinse off and pat dry the turkey -- so when you season the turkey, it will stick
Ahh thanks. It got time for me to brine it and I ended up taking it out but next time I’ll try that
AB! You did one of these 5 years ago.
You used veggie broth... this one you used water. What's the difference boe?
Oh and I brine and inject! Living on the edge!
Website is down for me too. Can you put the recipe in the comments or description
Good stuff, did it last year close the this guys recipe. How I prepare my Thanksgiving turkey to smoke
Do you dry rub your turkey after the brine?
AB keeping on doing thing Bro, btw i'm brine my turkey with same the ingredients listed on this video, but i'm adding some apple juice, slice oranges and some ground all spice, I did that to my turkey 3 years ago for Thanksgiving's Day it was slamming.
He’s so chill with it I love it lol
I love to brine my turkey and chicken. Thank you.
Thank you! I will do this for my Christmas turkey. Merry Christmas! ❤🎄
Each time l see your receipe, am sure its going to be good.
Hey AB.... really good tip.... I've never brined a turkey. I usually put the dry herbs, lemons and oranges inside the bird. I cook it breast down. Never to old to learn.... thanks for the video!!!💕
You've never made a turkey but usually put the lemon in the bird?? 🤔😁
@@dawhoda1 I've cooked plenty of turkeys but never brined them before cooking them.
Super random.....You look like someone's cool uncle seriously. I know you give good uncle hugs
I intended to get a brining bucket, but I didn't get a chance to. I got a big bag after seeing Malcom Reed brine a turkey, but i ended up just putting it in one of those disposable coolers and putting ice around the bag. I still have ice packs from when i ordered something from the butcher shop. I probably could have used those
I'ma pour some dark beers in the brine to cool it off. Thank you for the video
I’m tuned in to learn bc I don’t brine or inject 🙋🏽♀️
I’ve always been in charge of the a a a a a alcohol 🥃🍻🥂
