Can't say I know much that goes on there, but I have always had a soft spot Queensland QZL Reds, since my cousin moved to live in Bullyard there In the middle of nowhere, after marrying a marvellous Ozzie fella. She sadly passed away from cancer a few years ago, quite young really, hardly past 50, Penelope. Her sons were rugby players, top amateur standard. They dabbled in Ozzie rules too - tall lads

Both pasifika teams will have alot to reflect on in the off-season especially with those coulda woulda shoulda moments, but with that being said it was a great debut for both of them and they'll obviously be getting to work in the preseason midway through the year on the obvious issues.
That blues pessimism is hard to overcome. Still, I believe.

Congrats on the excellent season the Blues have had. Just a couple of years ago, they used to be the token kiwi pushover in Super Rugby, and look at them now. Sitting dandy at the top of the tree. A team built on rugby 101: powerful physical forwards and backline skill and speed. And they're fun to watch, too. You've deserved this for being such a loyal fan through the years.
But for me personally, the biggest positive is the two PI teams. I've followed a couple of sports and seen a couple of expansions, and let me tell you, it gets ugly sometimes. It didn't here. Yes, they finished bottom of the log, but they weren't out of place and both teams notched some impressive scalps. It's beyond obvious they're only going to improve from here onwards. And it will do their respective national sides a lot of good to have their 2nd string players playing all season long against kiwi and aussie teams. I'm already satisfied with the season, no matter who wins.
Yeah man agree. They have done very well to get off the ground and be as competitive as they were. There was a risk this season with expansion, new format and covid would be a disaster, but it's been pretty solid!
I think for next season the number of seeds for knockouts should be reduced to 6 and the top two seeds get bye weeks while the remaining four play the quarters. I think having 8 teams go through is a bit too much, and having an even 6-6 split in the standings for playoff and elimination spots would make more sense imo.
Basically the old 2011-2015 playoff format

I see in previous vid that some people are whingeing how Highlanders got to the quarters - maybe it is because they got a better points difference, and won at least as many games as teams below them. It's mathematics. 😁😁😁
