I've been Detecting with Deep Digger Dan during his digging the coast 365, that was fun. I used his XP Deus... Very light. I started out using the Garrett Ace 250 and then added a Nel Tornado coil. After that I started using a Nokta Makro Kruzer and some how managed to find so much more on land I thought had been detected to death. Silver coins, WWII badges and bullets and down the beach I've even found GOLD and Silver Rings. In my latest video I've finally found a Roman Coin and A Saxon Strap End. Hi Mate, I made one of these a couple of years ago, what you want to try is a piece of iron above or below a target item, in the other tubes, and then see what readings you get with and without the iron, might be more interesting, I definitely found it helpful when I done it..

best review i’ve seen and i’m glad you’ve done it. for me my 540 at max depth has a lot of noise and i find the best sensitivity is to have the bars just at the corner of the battery level for best results. thanks for posting this as i wasn’t sure how deep it could go. love all the vids. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 from 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Something seems off, ask your self how many targets you dug up on hunt which are deeper than 10', let alone 17'? Seems that dirt box gives as much resistance as air.

Depth would be very similar. A Vanguish 540 is pretty much a non waterproof Equinox with a few less tweakables. Depthwise, and assuming similar coil size will be similar results.

The issue I have with these tests is your moving the coin and the coin is not mixed within the soil which can affect how deep a machine will detect a coin. I am going to do some tests myself but I will have to go out into a quiet country area as there is too much EMI where I live.
Agreed, this test is in no way accurate or scientific but it’s just an indicator as to the detectors capabilities
Typically though, a long buried coin in dirt will give an even BETTER signal than this test is providing.

Previous video he did with his Go Find 44, the next ones will be with his Simplex and Garret Ace 250 .
No longer have the Garrett so the next test will be Kruzer and then Simplex (old update vs New)

Whats your point? He tests many different machines in this same soil and box. No one said it would replicate real world conditions exactly. But you can get an idea of detector depth moreso than air testing. Also, an item long buried will actually give an even better signal. Of course ground mineralization, colocated iron targets and so on will effect depth, but theres no way to replicate those variables. These Vanquishes are legit, and multi-iq is legit, if a machine is weak in this test it will be weak in the real world.
Sorry mate..the added wood is just dumb...this machine is awsome without it..And 90% would never dig that deep anyway.
