Plymouth City Centre 1992 Vs 2017.
In is video you can see the changes to Plymouth City Centre from the year 1992 to 2017. Using footage filmed in 1992, I retraced steps and recorded footage from the same areas in Plymouth almost two decades after using my #GoProHero4.

Totally love this. Personally think Plymouth was definitely better in 1992 as it was more greener and we had the subway too!!! Notice too how more active the city centre was back then. Now it's quiet as most of the shops are either closed down or relocated elsewhere. Such a shame really. Awesome film to watch though xxxx
Not to mention the giant Waffle building wasn't there.
True that lol
Plymouth City Centre in the 80's and 90's was so so great. And while it looks very similar today, it's so different. Great times as a kid going in Arcadia and Woolworths in the 80s and 90's buying He-Man toys and WWF Hulk Hogan videos!
Plymouth was such a proud, clean and vibrant city. I drove through at Christmas and was so saddened by how grubby and run down it had all become. The city fathers who rebuilt the city after the war must be spinning 😞
Union Street is now a graveyard, town is full of the same shops selling the same thing.. it's depressing.
I remember the armada dial was the meeting point before we all had mobile phones in the early 90s. My siblings and I used to fight over who got to sit on the 'British' ones, with the German ones being the least favoured!
I was sundial era! haha
Shame there doesn't seem to be any footage of the old Drake Circus online only pictures.
Aye, I've not found anything besides pictures.
And if they had left the subway under royal parade an old lady wouldn't have been killed by being hit by a bus.
You're not wrong, mate!
It was a lorry, but totally agree. Moronic councillors have ruined parts of town. Flattened the subways, now we have antisocial skate boarding louts on it. Built another cinema on the bus station. More student flats and more students flats. Stupid woke councillors who half of are not even from here I'd bet. Someone should go to the council and tell them the meaning of "if it ain't broken, dont fix it"....
And whether you like it or not if the subway wasn't gone that lady wouldn't have been killed. Simply logic.
