Let's take a look at adding additional DMR networks to your hotspot. I demonstrate with WPSD, but this is similar to the latest version of Pi-Star. We can add in TGIF, DMR Plus, AmComm, all the networks!

Thanks for the demo of TGIF - looks simple if you have a robust DMR radio. I need to build another hotspot for DMR since I use a very local DMR repeater to pop into our local TG

Here is a topic, how to use WPSD with DTMF to control hotspot vis the ID-5100. With openSpot 4 or Pi-Star it is flawless. Haven't found this capability in WPSD, maybe you or your viewers know how and will share..

Hello. How to add Dmr Talk group?

Jim, i'm a very lite user on DMR. So why would you use it. For example, I see a large list of TG's on TGIF but it seems all of these are also on DMR with brandmeister so why would you add a "5" and connect. Not sure I understand the reason here but I am sure there is one LOL. Please advise. thank you

Why would I use DMR? To talk to other hams. Is it better than any other digital mode? Nope. IMHO - they're all just about the same. In order of ease of use - Fusion/DMR/D-Star (not order of cost). DMR radios are a lot cheaper than Fusion or D-Star, that's the main reason a lot of folks use DMR.

I feel like an idiot for asking this. Do I need to add static talkgroups for Brandmeister in my WPSD? I can't get my parrot to come back to me but noticed I have no static talkgroups. I have not seen anything about those so I never touched it.

No sir, don't feel like an idiot! Honestly, I don't understand the difference between static and dynamic TG, other than what the name implies. AFAIK, the static TG linked to your hotspot stay connected. WHY that matters at all, I have no idea. The way I program my radios, when I change TG on the radio, it changes TG on the hotspot. I *think* the static/dynamic is more of a repeater thing, than specifically a radio/hotspot thing.
