I love Duke's. Has a special place in my heart too bc they have some pictures of my grandpa and some of my grandparents' friends (he was one of the OG beach boys and my grandma ran the Waikiki Beach Center) besides the great old pictures of Duke.

Love that you released a video of something in Waikiki the week that we are there! I walked over to Duke's after watching the video, but didn't go in because they were busy. We have been having a great time and doing lots of food crawl. Had malasadas from Leonard's, and just had lunch at Highway Inn. We also made our own hole-in-the-wall discovery of a small takeout place in Waikiki - Burgers and Sushi. Already ordered three times from there in a span of two days! :) I appreciate that you are sharing your family with us, Amanda -- Zeke.

you'll probs not see this but what felix had was simply jasmine rice, no farro that i could see. farro is an ancient egyptian grain, similar to bulgar wheat, so it has a slightly denser, chewier texture and nuttier flavour than rice. it would've gone nicely with the monchong piccata. haven't been to dukes in forever but glad you enjoyed!
Food reviews are always good. Appreciate the honesty and description. When I get to try the food it is exactly how you described it. I also really appreciate the driving part of each video. Gives me a better idea of where to go by car. Thumbs up! And please keep the Von in your episodes. Always good to have at least three verdicts on the food. Last note, I don't know who does the editing and production but the accompanying music is always a good match for what you are doing.

I’ve been to Oahu 9 times. The one place I always go is Duke’s. Can’t take a trip and not go. This year was the first time they didn’t have Opa. Was very disappointed, but it was still great. The salad bar is one of the best deals in Waikiki.

Always wanted try Dukes but the pandemic got in the way with plans. A small dessert suggestion: you guys should try Diamond Head Chocolates specifically the one in Ward. I was in Ward yesterday and saw how empty it was. Heard from couple of store owners in the area that a lot of long-running local businesses closed down due to the pandemic. I thought it was so sad and I thought you guys could come in and give businesses in Ward some love.

Dukes' is a wonderful/fun place, I normally go there on Sundays to see Henry Kapono when I'm out there (the people watching of those dancing around is just as entertaining as Henry Kapono!). All of the food you all dined on looked great. I always enjoy their coconut shrimp and also the calamari strips. The seafood stew looks so good I must try that. I normally get the fish dish similar to what Felix had with the lemon caper sauce. Mahalo for another great vlog!

Enjoyed this video, I haven't gone to any fancy restaurants since covid. Interesting to see Amanda's family. Those appetizers were really ono looking, in fact I could eat everything. I think you needed more of the dessert, I could eat all of that myself. Mahalo and Aloha.

Haven’t been to Dukes but I’ve been to Kimo’s which is a sister restaurant to Duke’s. The food was great so I would guess Dukes would be great too! It’s nice to meet your family. Your sister is so shy! Was there a special occasion for the dinner?

Really enjoyed this video - we plan to book happy hour Duke’s when we are there in Feb! I thought the view looked more spectacular than the food - I am a HUGE coconut shrimp fan so will be trying that for sure. Hope we get a great table! Thanks for sharing this and your Ohana too! I used to live on Kalani Ave a half block from that statue so this brings back some good memories. Never been to Duke's, but I'll add it to the increasingly large and unattainable list of places I want to eat. lol. 🤙🏻

Great video Felix, beautiful family Amanda. The plate that your dad had looks good, may have to try it. We always used to watch Kapono perform at Duke's on Facebook before the pandemic happened. We were just at Shore Fyre in International Market place this morning. Had to take a dip too at the beach today. So much places to visit.. Mahalo guys, good to be back in Hawaii.🤙🏽

Just got back from Oahu - missed out on Duke's this time - Usually go at least once a trip.
I think farro is just wheat grain, dried whole and then cooked. Sort of like rice, but with wheat kernels.

Haven’t been to Dukes but I’ve been to Kimo’s which is a sister restaurant to Duke’s. The food was great so I would guess Dukes would be great too! It’s nice to meet your family. Your sister is so shy! Was there a special occasion for the dinner?

As for Waikiki Malia! My Regional Managers come to nest there every year, when they comve here. Its a Business Oriented Hotel.

It was ono! I’d definitely recommend getting reservation at least 2-3 weeks in advance, Hawaii is very busy and overbooked so many places are busy!
