Along with many other Creative Artists, I share a great love & admiration for good Storytelling Well Presented. It’s not difficult to imagine how pervasive is the reality of being inspired by that which is emotionally conceived & dynamically well crafted. Indeed many a song of mine has been hatched over the years sitting in a darkened Movie Theatre while watching the intertwined communion of Shadows & Light spreading its Magic bouncing off of a Film Screen & right back into our eyes.
During the last couple of years that I lived in Malibu California before returning to Europe, I was privileged to get a chance to hang out briefly with the great Icon of Stage & Screen ROD STEIGER. I used to see him in his Brownish-Beige Volkswagen Cabriolet driving up & down the Pacific Coast Highway in his popped collared Polo Shirts & a beatnik’s beach worthy bucket hat rakishly worn atop his head. And not to be outdone were his (more often than not) cargo shorts & boat shoes.
We both favored the same Gas Station, a Union 76 right on the highway & one day as I saw him there also refueling his automobile, I chanced the opportunity to introduce myself to him as a big fan who very much appreciated his immense contribution to the Art & History of the Movies. And as it often is with those of us in the Arts, FLATTERY WON HIS ATTENTION & what warm affection thereafter flowed. I was likewise flummoxed that he had heard of who I was & for an all too brief spell of time, I’d invite him to lunch at a local spot called ‘TAVERNA TONY’S’ where the Greek Food & Whiskey flowed. In return for my generosity in hosting him, I’d receive the gift of his recollections of the ‘Golden Days Of Hollywood’. And as Songwriters are but themselves the Keepers of the Tales of a Thousand Nights, I basked in the glow of these reminiscences & cherished the coveted moments therein. Not to mention his seasoned advice concerning my own life at the time. (*)
We hereby salute all Actors, Writers, Directors, Producers & those whose visions & work in the Industry has set the world’s imagination alight & given to us the nuclear matter of dreams & often a soft place for our fears to land.

Yhis was surprisingly unexpected. You can't help getting caught up in the storytelling of who is Mr. Steiger...
Daryl Coley, Rev. James Moore, Isaac Carrey, & Dalon Collins are also at the top of the GOAT list, but this man is the only voice that equals Donny Hathaway in pure gut churning, platinum dripping soul, and perfect opulent balance. I'm a second generation fan, my late aunt turned me on to him in the late 80s. WOW. I getting up to date on his music, but my life would be tremendously enriched if he sang the slow version of Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy'

@Sananda Maitreya, man, this is some of your finest work for a few reasons. I have to point out the irony and humour first, both of which are so evident from 20 seconds. Musically, it's just stunningly unique, but coming from you, man, I've never expected anything less. Visually, it bears similarities to Tarantino?? Seriously, I haven't experienced anything quite like this since Maynard James Keenan's band "Puscifer" did a cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody". That recording and video has quite a similar approach. SO WELL DONE, my friend. Love it. I'm sharing this link with all I know who would love and appreciate it. THANK YOU, Sananda.

Mr. Sananda Maitreya, I loved this video! I learned how to drive in that car. How to shift gears. I was the only girl in high school that could drive a shift. Who am I kidding? I was a bad a_____, I could drive a tractor before I was ten, being that I was raised in the country (farm). The best life EVER!! In the video, I was a little afraid of that clown with the red hat though, whew!!! I really appreciated the tribute to the writers and actors at closing, who keep us entertained and help us to realize through the act of the stage and screen what is possible in our minds, hearts, and souls. Rock stars like you, who really help us to tap into our feelings and imagination through poetry and music for over 36 years, have been that inspiration that helped ME to believe that coming from meager beginnings or a person who experienced loss and had to really struggle. Who could be born a POOR little girl like me, If I did not push, scrap, and claw with confidence and not exalt?? If I had won all of the time it would be easy to think that nobody could ever beat me. But, like you, my past is the past. ONE DAY, knowing I was going to pop on the scene just like you did AND START WINNING. God was on my side and I am a winner today.
