Walthers makes me laugh. They put out low quality products but then complains n scale doesn’t sell. You did a good job compensating
Walthers puts out good products. I enjoy putting them together, painting, and weathering them.
Man I came back to watch your video after just finishing mine. I thought I was missing a page of directions or something. I have like 2 sprues full of stuff for little buildings and junk that I have no direction for that I was hoping to see someone else build.
I had to re-read the directions closely to see they wanted you to glue all the long walls together first before assembling the building. I didn’t need a support column in mine when I put it together.
I have two grandsons who are big into LEGO, and the more bags there are in the box, the better they like it.
Yeah I feel the same way. You feel more involved with more parts to put together.
Trick that might work for you doing weathering is using a can of compressed air to move around the watered down paint. Just a thought I had while watching. Looks great as always

I built the paper mill in N scale a few years back. I didn’t like the smoke stacks for the era I was modeling and found brick smoke stacks and was happy with the results. I repainted mine a complete different color and also blocked some windows out as they would do as the mill got older. Was a fun project. Also made logs and stacked a bunch in the yard.
I have this kit as the “centerpiece” of my layout. Fun build and looks great!!!
Nice job red flashing lights on the smoke stacks. door numbers on the truck doors and outdoor lights on all doors.

Got one of these for next to nothing that someone bought but only partially assembled. I didn’t build the kit as a paper mill but used the parts for background flats and other buildings in my layout. It’s a great kit for that even if you don’t need a paper mill.
You did great with the paper mill. It's the first time I'm seeing Walthers mill built online. I did it so many times myself but in HO. I got two paper mill complexes. A smaller one standing on 12 foot long on 3 modules. The BIG one is a complete 9 x 9 foot room layout. It's a combination of many buildings all put together. Mostly Walthers. From the wood chip and pulpwood yard to the shipping building, trains ops serve the complex. It's interesting that you've painted pulp storage tanks in silver. I got many on these and there all concrete color. I need to find a way to make them look more prototypical. Concrete is hard to model. It needs artistic skills to do it properly. Keep on your good work.
That kit just seems to be a bunch of other buildings kit stuck together. The long wall needs front to back bracing so it won't curl or bow in later. Also they needed to provide a support for what you had to make. Also I found out if you use a white wash over the gray or silver ac units and etc. It gives a toned down , but rain beaten look. Anyway that kit will add a large industry to a layout. It could be kit bashed and reworked for an even better one.
good idea for the white wash. I know it works on colors, didn't really consider it for metallics
I've done this on other Warehouse buildings your ford. Truck bass I would have glued one of the doors halfway open.. it is a very nice effect
Use a square piece of balsa to hold up the Floating wall section to make it more solid as to not get a sag
Good idea. Really anything used to hold up the floating corner is a good idea IMO

You have done a great job on this fantastic kit. I started on the HO version of this kit just after Christmas. I think it will be another month yet to finish it. Interesting to see quite a few differences between the HO and N scale versions. I think perhaps too that the HO instructions are better although not great. I have been thinking that I would make my silos concrete but I do like your steel version. I went with a different take on the rail entrance to the main building and just cut out two ties to go over the "concrete" foundation.
It takes a bloody long time doesn't it?! haha

It’s cool that the N scale kit comes with 3 kits in one. I had to buy all my ho kits separately. Did they ever do a Kraft Mill in N scale? Looks great thanks for sharing.
I am not sure if the Kraft mill can be purchased separately in N scale. I do find this scene is a decent value considering the size of scene it creates.
Shame Cornerstone hasnt updated their moulds. Seeing that excess flashing material is a waste and causes more cleanup of there models than necessary, especially the large attach points from the trees. For what we pay for these models they should revamp their process. We shouldnt have to 'fixup' any defects. Dont get me started on their instructions either.... as you discovered during your assembly process.

Oh yeah what happened to your corners when you glued your buildings looks like chewing gum welds... Figure you would fill in putty and sand. Bottom line is your happy..
The plastic walls weren't completely straight. I even put a rubber band around it to hold it together and it still bowed out.
