- Benton Harbor defeated Ypsilanti Lincoln 86-83 in what was perhaps the game of the year in Michigan. Recently offered by Michigan, Benton Harbor junior Carlos "Scooby" Johnson led the way with 38 points and 16 rebounds. For Lincoln, the country's number-1 ranked freshman Emoni Bates led the way with 36 points and 9 rebounds.

Scooby definitely is special, but if he wants to add value to his name/brand going forward then he'll consider taking his game to Bloomington, IN for at least one year to play for the Hoosiers. Adding some Cream and Crimson to his bio instead of maze and blue would make him more valuable in the long run because Hoosiers are loyal to their ballers and will follow him throughout his career! Look at Gary Harris, for example. Great ball player, but would be earning a hell of a lot more money in endorsements had he done the right thing and gone to IU instead of MSU. No one in Indiana cares about him now and Michiganders don't really/truly care as much about basketball as they do football. Just sayin! Truth is truth.
Both ended up being busts. Scooby with the law and Bates with just simply being overrated.

At the 8:16 mark in the video, he literally just shoots a little two-foot baseline gimmee shot...AND THEN STARES DOWN THE DEFENDER LIKE HE JUST DUNKED ON HIM OR SOMETHING! I know Emoni is very young, but someone needs to get ahold of him and help him reign in his childishness. The more likeable he is the more successfull he'll be and the more likely that parents will allow their kids to buy his sneakers one day. I'm not throwing shade on him; I'm just being honest. He needs to act more like a man and less like a boy...but dang, he can freaking play!

I know he's young, but he could benefit by acting a little bit more like a man instead of a boy. The game today is chalked full of emotional "me me me" types of players and I really think he'd do incredibly well by himself if he acted more like Kawhi and less like Westbrook. Be unique by acting bigger than everyone else rather than exactly like everyone else! This ain't HATE that I'm dishing out; this is just constructive criticism because clearly...this kid is special! I'm very interested in seeing how well he incorporates his teammates into the offense because THAT is the real measure of greatness. If he ends up averaging 8 to 10 assists per game by the time he graduates along with his 10+ rebounds and 30+ points then WATCH OUT!
