I just made this rack. The idea is great, but the dimensions are small. For anyone wishing to build this, I'd strongly suggest increasing the width and especially the depth of the sides by 1" to 1.5" inches. However if you use thicker plywood, be sure to take that into consideration. And if your pliers have thick /padded handles, take that into consideration too. I've built about 8 various french cleat tool holders and the one thing I'm learning quickly; if you have limited wall space it's very important to build holders which have a narrow wall profile and are deep and extent away from the wall. I like the concept, keep it up!! Thanks.
Thanks so much for showing the pieces laid out with dimensions. By the way, I think you forgot to warn us that this French cleat thing would become addictive.
Fantastic! Thanks for this, this was an extremely easy build with your walkthrough. For metric users, the cut list with 12mm plywood is: 180mm x 194, 180 x 110 (x2, then cut the triangles out that are 70mm of the 110 width and 80mm of the 180mm height), 170mm x 65, 170 x 95, 170 x 125.
I made the hammer holder and it was a space saving design. I sent you a picture by email. I plan to make this one. My current plier holder is not very good. Thanks
at 1:42 he says, "all pieces are a quarter of an inch thick", but the measurements (and clearly the plywood itself) is for 3/8" plywood, not 1/4". I'm about 90% done with a version out of 5.2mm (just under 1/4") ply... wish me luck!
I happened to be in the wood shop when you posted this and measured, and you are indeed correct. Thank you for catching my on-camera mistake. I had no idea I had done that. The holder is definitely 3/8" and I hope your version is super successful!
I just completed this pliers rack and love the design. However, I believe you have an error in your measurements. If you will give me your email address, I will gladly explain it to you. I am really enjoying your series of French Cleat builds!

Very excellent comments and great modification to the design! We hope yours works as well for you as ours has for us!

Sorry, but French cleats will definitely become an obsession! Glad you like our designs. We'll keep building new stuff!
Nice, I plan on building this and adapting it to my peg board using L-shaped threaded hooks :-)
Sounds great! It should work perfectly that way!
Now I want to add some French cleats to the blank spaces on my garage walls. Any suggestions for mounting on a cinder block wall?
I made this rack to replace my old one. This is a great design and works so much better than my old one. Thanks!!
Great to hear! And very glad you like this design. We use ours every day and still love it!
Grazie.

Sure! Just use the email address on the About link above!
Maybe you could give us the accurate measurements. I just cut out all the pieces and want to assemble it tomorrow. Thank you
Yeah it would be helpful for everyone if you could add or update your comment here with correct measurements. TIA
Glad you liked this one!
