I got freaked out by the entrance when I was little and started crying. My mom took me through an emergency exit with permission from staff. We sat outside while the rest of the fam were watching, and I was still crying. A different staff member approached us and asked what was wrong, and then took me and Mom to where everyone got off the ride. She let us board right there so I didnt have to go through the scary entrance. Honestly, Disney is magical and they are so kind.
Lmfaoo that room was way to scary and harsh for the little ones. When I was a little kid I tried to hide on the walls before they moved in and then just closed my eyes on my parents arms
In the Haunted Mansion at Disney World/Disneyland, “you” commit suicide during the course of the ride and become a ghost. At the beginning of the ride the ghost host (the narrator) says the only way to escape the mansion is to die, and he shows that he hanged himself. Near the end of the ride there’s a moment where the ride vehicle turns around backwards and you go off a balcony, which according to this theory represents you jumping to your death. Before this part of the ride the ghosts are all trying to scare you, but afterwards they sing excitedly and invite you to party with them. (The Grim Grinnin’ Ghosts song.) The only human character in the ride, a groundskeeper, appears after the balcony drop. He faces toward the riders and seems terrified of you. Could be totally accidental, could be an intentional subtlety by the designers, but either way I’ve never looked at that ride the same way since.
not to mention the fact that in the grim grinning ghosts song there is a particularly dark part in the lyrics... i think it was "if you'd like to join our jamboree, there is one rule that's compulsory. rest in peace, then haunt for free, so hurry back we enjoy your company" , more or less implying that they want you to die so you can join them...
+TheStephano619 There's one thing wrong with that though... we can see the ghosts not because we are supposedly dead, but because of Madame Leota and her seance. And the first time we see the ghosts, they are having a birthday... uh deathday party. Or as the Ghost Host called it, 'a swinging wake', so they are celebrating the whole time. Yes there is that aspect of creepiness when they say 999 ghosts but still room for one more, so hurry back with your final arrangements; yeah it's implied for you to haunt along with them but I don't see suicide as being part of the plot, otherwise they wouldn't send a ghost home with you.
Is it me or are people now more rude then they use to be. I remember when I was young the pre show was always silent. People would respect the show instead of just talking the entire time.
It always makes me sad that the cast members have to yell instructions during the introduction (which has always been my favorite part of this ride) because people won't listen in the first place. :( It shouldn't be too hard to understand that you need to move all the way in so everyone can come inside, c'mon.
Corinne... I agree, and the intro does rock. That said, this has always been my fave Disney attraction... the whole first half of the ride is especially cool and creepy. Google Claude Coats... he laid out most of the first part of this attraction back in the '60's. There was a disagreement whether The HM should be creepy, (Claude Coats) or funny, (Marc Davis). They both won. Also, check out the way cool website "Doom Buggies". :)
I was scared of this ride when I was 8 and now I'm 13 and I'm scared of the video. Now you can laugh at me all you want, but this ride still gives me chills.
I went to Disney World when I was 6 back in 1972. I remember the Haunted Mansion vaguely. I also remember 6 Gun Territory and Bush Gardens. I haven't been back but hope to go again.
To the people saying the cast member in the beginning was being annoying with her shouting, you'd be surprised how ignorant and clueless tourists can be in Disney World. When Haunted Mansion is running at full capacity, she has to raise her voice.
Loved love this ride . Went on it at Disney World in 1985 and 1986 in the winter like Jan or Feb around that time but it was only at Disney World when Dad Mom and I went there !
i was 9 when i went on this ride and believed everything i saw "even the ghosts in the hall and on the ride" im 20 watching this video and still cant figure out how they did the ghosts in the hall "also i was freaking out on the mirror part xD that was the only time i tried to exit a ride while it was still moving....my mom and dad kept telling me they were surprised how much of a fight i gave them xD"
SERIOUSLY!! I'm sitting here thinking, "am I the only one who wishes all of those people would just SHUT UP in that stretching room?!?!" That ghost host has the PERFECT horror voice and I love listening to him! I'll never understand why people talk over him. I was in Walt Disney World in July and I rode this at night during extra magic hours!! By far the best time to ride because there's far less people and you can hear EVERYTHING he says!
Lady in the beginning should be fired. Not right to yell at guests like that and ruin the Disney Magic. Can't even hear the welcome track over hear shouting.
she is just trying to get as many people in as possible she is yelling so that the massive flood can hear her, plus it's the haunted mansion cast members are not supposed to be preppy and nice
Creepy VampGirl I agree but then the lines would be much longer and take a lot more time to get on the ride. I'd rather sacrifice the script then be out in the heat standing for an hour 😂
We were planning to go to Disney World this month, but we had to cancel due to covid 19. We know the park is open, but my younger brother has autism and will not wear a mask due to his sensory issues. Disney is making no exceptions whatsoever. Last year, my family went here for spring break and I rode the same one with my brother and at the end he asked me if I wanted to join the spirits and being a fan I joking said sure, the ride then breaks down and our parents were already off the ride and me and my brother were stuck there and I yelled at him for jinxing again
If disney world reads this here's a suggestion. The crowds need to be silenced in order to enter the first room. Way too much talking along with that worker shouting.
This ride always reminded me of that scene in Casper where they were on that chair going down the staircase idk 😂 The attraction looks like the manor in the movie too.
I used to enjoy this ride so much as a kid (I'm now only 18). I used to think it was one of the best rides in Disney. Within 1 1/2 years I have lost 3 people to suicide. When I went on this ride this past summer, without really remembering what happened in the room before (being a naive kid and all). when i entered the room I was filled with excitement, when I left, I had tears in my eyes and could barely focus to what was happening around me. When I saw the man hanging from the ceiling I thought I was going to pass out. One of the few thoughts running through my head was "what if any of the parents of my friends who committed suicide was there". which lead me back to my friends funerals with their parents crying out in agony for their child to get up. If that's what it did to me, I couldn't even imagine the pain and terror any parent or family member who has lost a loved one like that. Triggering the awful memories of a loved one hanging from a tree on in their room, when they came to Disney to have fun and try to forget about the pain for even a moment. The man hanging from the ceiling is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen in a Disney ride. Even the thought of the Haunted Mansion now makes me sick, for keeping such an awful thing for a point most people don't even understand.
Comment here what do you think was the scariest part of the ride! I think it was the bride part. When I went on it, she said, " Until death separates us" god.
where yhe boombuggy turned backwards and fell in a diagonal line, ohh also when the ride stops, I was on it and it stoped right in front of a hallway with a floating candle
I was five when I first rode this and it scared the living daylights out of me, especially the changing portrait in the beginning and the hanging corpse in the stretching room. I rode it it again years later and now it's one of my favorite rides at Disney :)
My goodness. How MANY people are packed in there all at one time? No wonder the "hostess" had to keep directing them. Also, what IS it that they just have to be constantly talking? I think they should have limited entrance and ditch the cell phones.
Next time you go, you should give it a try! I'm 18 years old and a complete wimp and was scared to go on it my third time at Disney, but it's truly stunning in many ways, visual effects being the real factor for me at least.
My memory of them is way scarier than they actually are. This is my first time seeing the ride since I went some 15 years ago; I didn't realize how harmless those beginning portraits are.
Same here i was 😨 on this ride too with my sister i didn't even look around while i was on the ride because i was scared i had my head turned to my sister the whole ride and the music from this ride would get stuck in my head on a loop
Idk how or why but the ride didn’t scare me at all when I was little....the room where the paintings moved up before the ride scared the shit out of me and I tried to hide on the walls before they forced everyone to move in🤣
I've never been to Disneyworld, but I've been to Disneyland. I love the twisted stairs seen here. You did an excellent job switching between normal light and nightvision! Other videos I've seen are by people who can't make up their mind and they switch back and forth all the time and it drives me crazy. But you know what you're doing and switched at the correct moments! My eyes thank you for that! ^_^
My parents and I haven't been to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom before, because we never planned ahead to go there when COVID-19 stops entering the picture. We were asked questions by unknown theme park guests one day on the monorail if we've been there and we responded, "No". They suggested that February is the best time to go down to Orlando, FL. It's different, but I'm sure that all will be well. 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
That is also why the ride stops so frequently, bc the workers have to go sweep up the remains. I really want to haunt this ride When I die bc there are so many possibilities!
Fred: Man, that mansion looks fantastic! Wasabi: Ooh, I don't know about this old place, but it looks awfully creepy, to me. Hiro: This old mansion could originate from an old European country, like either France, or Germany, Or England. Honey Lemon:[nervously] Or maybe from...[gulp]...Transylvania! Go Go Tomago:[scoffs] Oh, please, there's nothing scary living here. Hiro:[to Tomago] You're not scared of going on this attraction, are you? Go Go Tomago: Me? Why would I be scared of going on this? [starts getting little nervous] Well, maybe I am. [gulp]
Can't wait to see how the Haunted Mansion updated what haunts the mansion. Okay, the main changes I see are in the lighting and the mirrors at the end.
UMADBRO1221 21 That was a rumor that turned to be false. But the Pirates of the Caribbean one is actually probably true because they used to have real ones to make it look authentic but they had to remove them, but there was too many and couldn't remove them all.

It's disney. Disney is amazing. They spend tons of time perfecting everything. They travel to places (like for the Animal Forest) they traveled to the Himillias to get everything just right. They have an entrance to make it look realistic. It's amazing what disney does.
tbh I'm scared of rides like this! I like slow rides that are bright with no drops! like Its a Small World, the Donald duck ride, the Peter Pan ride, and other slow ones.
I'm nineteen and I might be going to Disney this summer and I am considering going on this ride then. Last time I went to Disney, I was seven and too scared. This video shows you what happens but as to the experience of actually being there, is it really scary?
+Rachel Lesch At the beginning there's a pretty high creep factor, but once you get to the graveyard the mood lightens immensely and actually becomes cheerful
@msladysaurus Their version of Indiana Jones is 'Dinosaur' same ride systems but still no where near as good. I was disappointed in that too. I think Hollywood Studios does a good job of matching California Adventure though, excellent park.
I’ve been to Disney land once’s and from what I can remember is when the lights went out at the beginning of the ride in that room I started crying like was like 6 or 7 I think I can’t really remember but I was little and also I remember getting stuck in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride next to the bird that kept repeating “dead man tell no tale.” Right as you go through the mist and that crashed ship with the skeleton and the mist shows the villain it was Davy Jone when I went they have probably changed it to Blackbeard or captain Salazar now. But that bird got annoying real quick lol
Normal Haunted Mansion is NOTHING compared to it's Halloween/Christmas makeover, Haunted Mansion Holiday. Also I kinda wish that he didn't turn on Night Vision, cause that ruins the mood a bit.
You should totally go on this! I love it. The only part that scared me was in the graveyard when things pop out of boxes, but if you know it's coming then it's all good :)
My husband and I went to Disneyland for our honeymoon, and the Haunted Mansion was closed because they were changing it over for Halloween/Christmas when it's fit to The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was so bummed, this was my favorite ride as a kid and my husband had never been to Disney.
WOW, it's a HUGE pet peeve of mine when anyone talks during the narrators speech!!! That speech kick-starts this awesome ride
Trefcuieo.
I got freaked out by the entrance when I was little and started crying. My mom took me through an emergency exit with permission from staff. Micah Cocking OMG i had the exact same experience
V8großeDübel me too I went through a special exit and skipped the pre-show room
Lmfaoo that room was way to scary and harsh for the little ones. When I was a little kid I tried to hide on the walls before they moved in and then just closed my eyes on my parents arms
"Sir, please don't touch that" and "Honey? Where is my cellphone?"....not the kind of conversations one would expect in a haunted house, LOL! ;-) ;-)
It actually smells like an old mansion too! I was scared when I was younger!
I love that scent!

TheStephano619 Dang. Didn't realize the ride was darker than I thought. O__o

I totally agree with you
Wouldn't you love to just walk thru this ride at your own pace, with all the sounds & effects going?
Those dead people popping up were what scared me most as a kid!
I would love to go on this ride alone :o)
Marigen Beltran That would be fun.
Lisa Parker umm.... No.
It always makes me sad that the cast members have to yell instructions during the introduction (which has always been my favorite part of this ride) because people won't listen in the first place. :( It shouldn't be too hard to understand that you need to move all the way in so everyone can come inside, c'mon.
They're trying to get in, some people walk slowly and the room isn't that big. You're also in a small area.
I heard the narrorator the whole time I was on
Corinne... I agree, and the intro does rock. That said, this has always been my fave Disney attraction... the whole first half of the ride is especially cool and creepy. The Reviewer omg I'll never even bother to laugh
The voice of legendary Paul Frees welcomes you as your ghost host. So awesome!
The people should be quiet and listen to the narrator!
+Pam Owens Knight exacly there never going to know what to do
+Pam Owens Knight his name is proffesor phineas plump, but you're totally right!
When I went on that part of the ride everyone was quite and I was the only one screaming because I was so small and confused
I went to Disney World when I was 6 back in 1972. I remember the Haunted Mansion vaguely. I also remember 6 Gun Territory and Bush Gardens. I haven't been back but hope to go again.

Jupiter9099 , yes thats what i’ve been thinking
I feel so bad for the people who have to work the Haunted Mansion. I don't know what it is, but this ride makes guests act sooo terribly.
Loved love this ride . Went on it at Disney World in 1985 and 1986 in the winter like Jan or Feb around that time but it was only at Disney World when Dad Mom and I went there !
When I was four I cried when the lights went off .

*****
***** no its figures below you and they used reflective glass to make it look like ghosts theres a video about it
The mirror part fucked me up so bad. I don't remember disney at all except for the haunted house. I was so scared I couldn't even cry back then.
Rolicoli8 Yeah...... Excpeted that's scary...
Douglas Moreland same gos for me except I was 8, and watching the video back at the age of 13
Bless you! A nicely-shot video, no commentary, just the experience. Brings back good memories.
excellent ride, but I must agree, there's no good reason for any employee to be yelling at anyone
SERIOUSLY!! I'm sitting here thinking, "am I the only one who wishes all of those people would just SHUT UP in that stretching room?!?!" +Cody Wolfe ikr xD
+jokermann 1000 fuck e, its not like anyone can sue disney
she is just trying to get as many people in as possible she is yelling so that the massive flood can hear her, plus it's the haunted mansion cast members are not supposed to be preppy and nice
+disney Personfan yes, yes they are.. You are correct that she was trying to get everybody packed in...
I don't see what's wrong in what she was doing. It sounded like she was yelling so that everybody could hear her not in an angry tone.
they shouldn't let that many people in there, kinda ruins the scary factor...
Creepy VampGirl I agree but then the lines would be much longer and take a lot more time to get on the ride. I'd rather sacrifice the script then be out in the heat standing for an hour 😂
It always made me sad hearing the doggy whine and whimper when the graveyard portion came into play...
?
Yea they don't know but we do
juan rivera ? What
Ive been on this ride so many times and I'm still amazed by the floating candle holder in the long hallway. this is classic disney at its best
We were planning to go to Disney World this month, but we had to cancel due to covid 19. Your night vision on your camera is fantastic! This is probably the best quality Mansion video I've seen. Thanks for uploading it :D
I Renee being stuck on this ride for an hour! It was horrible because every 2 minutes this monster thing would pop up.
I got stuck for 45 minutes in that ride, and it was the part with the floating instruments. That was hella annoying tooXD
Sometimes they just stop it because they want to put handicapped people in there
+Courtney Faith At least I was staring at a wall when I was stuck on, lol
shayla m
Courtney Faith I got stuck for these blessed 20 minutes and I was looking at the dancing angels right before the bride
Last year, my family went here for spring break and I rode the same one with my brother and at the end he asked me if I wanted to join the spirits and being a fan I joking said sure, the ride then breaks down and our parents were already off the ride and me and my brother were stuck there and I yelled at him for jinxing again
woahhh okay that is super creepy
If disney world reads this here's a suggestion. The crowds need to be silenced in order to enter the first room. Way too much talking along with that worker shouting.
Nicole Disney didn't upload the video
Changing the ISO would not affect the flickering, the shutter speed is what you'd want to change.
This ride always reminded me of that scene in Casper where they were on that chair going down the staircase idk 😂
The attraction looks like the manor in the movie too.
awww…thankyou for shooting this so well.
I could see you involved with Disney. That was fun wasn't it?😍😛😃😀😰scary
Jeanne Singleton I loved when my mother was whole and happy and constructive like this.
I couldn't enjoy the first part with the attendant screaming over the gallery dialogue.
I was terrified of this ride when I was about 5 and refused to go on it. I’m 13 now and I finally went on it a few days ago and I loved it
Leave it to Disney to make a haunted house ride into a damn musical!!
Tinker Bell the haunted mansion had music in it
Tinker Bell holy angels you got it
This is one of the best HM videos I have ever seen on here, nice job!
I know how to get out of the chamber with no doors or windows
punch a hole in the wall and get through as fast as u can
Punch a hole in the wall
then crawl owt
xplodovision What if the chamber is made of metal though?
BTW... I think all the lights turn off and something goes on with the paintings?
Isn't there a 'chicken door' though??? I'm pretty sure there is....
I watched a documentary on the ride and there’s a hidden chicken door
Its amazing ride I think what would be really cool staying in one of the rooms inside the haunted manison
I am in love with your channel. I watch this along with some of the other rides every day. It helps me get by until the next year when I go :)
He said there’s no turning back but as soon as that part ended I walked out the exit before I got on the ride because I was terrified
''Look alive.''
Such dark twisted humor, that's what I loved about The Haunted Mansion.
Comment here what do you think was the scariest part of the ride! I think it was the bride part. When I went on it, she said, " Until death separates us" god.
The lady in the beginning
mr. mullins I swear she said something like that.
I went on it and the scariest part was the start!
where yhe boombuggy turned backwards and fell in a diagonal line, ohh also when the ride stops, I was on it and it stoped right in front of a hallway with a floating candle
Trista Miesha, Angervil Omg poor you xD
I was five when I first rode this and it scared the living daylights out of me, especially the changing portrait in the beginning and the hanging corpse in the stretching room. I rode it it again years later and now it's one of my favorite rides at Disney :)
My goodness. How MANY people are packed in there all at one time? No wonder the "hostess" had to keep directing them. Also, what IS it that they just have to be constantly talking?
I think they should have limited entrance and ditch the cell phones.
I remember as a little kid I would always cover my eyes for the "hitchhiking ghosts", I'm glad I finally got to see it. Thanks for uploading this!
In Disneyland if you look close at the ground in the big outside hall leading into the house there is a ring in the cement
This is always a great ride to go on when it's hot out.
Good ride a little spooky at first . I was at Disney on Monday.
Nobody cares
I was here back in September. This is the only Haunted House I've ever liked. I WANT TO GO BACK TO DISNEY WORLD SO BADLY!!!!
i went on this ride when i was like 9 and the scariest part to me was when those zombies popped up from those grave thingies
I screamed at that part twice
I got stuck there once. D:
SAME
Next time you go, you should give it a try! I'm 18 years old and a complete wimp and was scared to go on it my third time at Disney, but it's truly stunning in many ways, visual effects being the real factor for me at least.
I was 8...soooo scared by the portraits at the start of the ride...could not sleep for weeks😓
My memory of them is way scarier than they actually are. This is my first time seeing the ride since I went some 15 years ago; I didn't realize how harmless those beginning portraits are.
I LOVE THIS RIDE! It's such an amazing ride, everything looks so real!!
i remember going on this ride when i was 8. didnt have much fun because i was terrified.
When I went on it, we got a message saying the ride broke down...
omg was there a girl crying her eyes out bc that was me. The ride broke down that time
Absolutely, Mansion is a Disney classic. Can't be missed :)
Going to Disneyland for the first time now that I'm 18. This ride is what I'm most excited for.
Who wants to hear a fun fact lots of people spread ashes on the ride they have a team of workers to get the ashes because its so common :D
That is also why the ride stops so frequently, bc the workers have to go sweep up the remains. I really want to haunt this ride When I die bc there are so many possibilities!
@sourpatchbabes The doom buggies that you ride in rotate in various directions throughout the ride.
[gulp]
I loved this ride! :) The 2 year old and 6 year old loved it too! It's great for the whole family.
I tried to go on this but the beginning of the ride scared me so much I didn’t go on
No video of any ride does it justice. This is a great attraction and well worth going on...especially at night. :)
Sharp productions is amazing. But that employee lady is annoying.
Can't wait to see how the Haunted Mansion updated what haunts the mansion.
Okay, the main changes I see are in the lighting and the mirrors at the end.
I love the noise the clock makes
this is my favorite ride at the Magic Kingdom! thanks for sharing the vid so i can relive it again and again:)
I remember going on this ride when I was 6 and I was terrified after
Thanks for the video! My favorite ride at Disney World. Brings back a lot of good memories.
there is actually reall skulls used on hat ride a the offices chair
They also use real skulls in pirates of the Carribian
Rowan Purifoy wait dey do 0-0 im never going to disneyland again now
UMADBRO1221 21 That was a rumor that turned to be false. But the Pirates of the Caribbean one is actually probably true because they used to have real ones to make it look authentic but they had to remove them, but there was too many and couldn't remove them all.
my dad works there and FBI came in and took the but the owner hided one and puted on the chair kinda weird right ´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´´`

It's disney. Disney is amazing. They spend tons of time perfecting everything. They travel to places (like for the Animal Forest) they traveled to the Himillias to get everything just right. They have an entrance to make it look realistic. It's amazing what disney does.
I haven't been to DisneyWorld since 2001
tbh I'm scared of rides like this! I like slow rides that are bright with no drops! like Its a Small World, the Donald duck ride, the Peter Pan ride, and other slow ones.
First time I went on that ride I was scared about not anymore
The haunted mansion is my favorite ride at Disneyland. I could ride it over and over never getting tired of it.
It sure is!!! Especially at the end when you find-out that the narrator wants to kill you and take your soul!
Especially with that chamber with no windows or doors thing when all the lights go out and the room shakes violently!
great camera work! loved it! brought back fum memories
Hey I wonder where luigi at?
i was wondering the same thing
W
Marcus Rodriguez I was pretending to be Luigi on the ride once lmao
Nice lugis Mansion joke.
Yeah can u ever imagine Luigi was included this ride could hv been even BETTER
Loved this ride! I'm such a sucker for anything dark, eerie, and spooky!
I went on this ride as a nine year old and I cried
I used to cry on this ride because of the screaming in the stretching room!
Marcus Cheng that’s exactly what scared me I thought something bad was gonna happen
Omg same. I stopped when I recognized the crystal ball lady and the head statues. The part with the dog made me really sad tho, lol.
Galaxia9 same! And I totally agree that part made my dad sad
Irescyjuio.
@msladysaurus Their version of Indiana Jones is 'Dinosaur' same ride systems but still no where near as good. I was disappointed in that too. I think Hollywood Studios does a good job of matching California Adventure though, excellent park.
Мне всегда нравились поездки в особняк с привидениями.
Not all of Magic Kingdom's rides held up for me as an adult, but this thing is still fucking amazing.
OH MY GOD THE GHOST SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME UNTIL I REALISED IT WAS A HOLOGRAM.
Which one? Constance Hatchaway?
I went on this ride it was AMAZING! I recommend it.
I remember going on this ride when I was 6 and I was frightened lol
It used to be more scary years ago. There used to be popping up heads that screamed loud in the attic room.
+Tyler Carta to me this age it would be rlly cool if I saw that :U I wish I go to Disney again soon :3
+Tyler Carta They have that in Disneyland, but not in the attic.
Also after listening to the part in it where they sing, that song will stick with u the whole trip like its a small world it's pretty catchy 😹
+Glittersmypup AJ Yup
you can totally see the string holding up the "floating" head
Cool, kinda killin the feel but, cool
Great way to ruin the Disney magic
Wow, the quality of the footage is amazing! Especially with the alternation between nightvision and such. Can I ask what camera you used to film this?
Is this haunted room actually stretching?
“ yes”
Lol
But which way..up in both Florida and Tokyo and down in Calif!
Oogie Boogie I went to Disneylang in December 2015 and went on this and I liked Grim grinning ghosts
You should totally go on this! I love it. The only part that scared me was in the graveyard when things pop out of boxes, but if you know it's coming then it's all good :)
I had my eyes closed the whole time when I was there😭
I always look forward to this ride every summer.
watching the movie right now
My husband and I went to Disneyland for our honeymoon, and the Haunted Mansion was closed because they were changing it over for Halloween/Christmas when it's fit to The Nightmare Before Christmas. I was so bummed, this was my favorite ride as a kid and my husband had never been to Disney.
