He is just a moron off the track, being used for propaganda at NBC, like you. And you were never on the track, or good at anything. How about asking the question if anybody hates you, and why?
Jeff Emig is one of the only Pros I know that actually takes the time and puts the effort to answer back to you.I can't say enough how I appreciate that. Thanks Fro..
That was the worst idea removing Emig and Ralph from Supercross. Just something about it. When you heard Ralph and Emig, you knew you were watching Supercross. Those two are the Godfathers of announcing Supercross
Yeah no, Ralph was terrible maybe even worse than the new guy now. James, ricky, and Jeff would the ultimate combo. Keep the ones who have never touched a bike as far away from the booth as possible.
Ralph should never be near a mic at a dirtbike race , nothing personal . Leigh Diffey is the best at Dakar , it just isn't the same without him . Grant & Weege outdoor nationals l love those guys , Jeff & Daniel need to do SX , somebody make this happen .
Ralph and Emig were great broadcasters. I never knew why they got rid of them and now we have a new group like every week. Imagine Emig, Ralph, Ricky, Blair, and James. Insane talent lineup.
Emig is one of the best broadcasters he explains things from a racers perspective and Ralph was great with him my favorites for sure .also I have talked to emig at the track and he is a genuine nice guy
I think Ricky and Jeff would make such an amazing team for the broadcasting of any race. I actually love these dudes so much. And between then both they have more skill and knowledge than most riders today ever can dream of.
Jeff is totally for the sport you can tell he lives and breathes moto from the racing to the ODI grips to gear development and racing back in the day then broadcasting. Truly loves and cares about moto more then most people think. Miss you in the booth Jeff you are a perfect match for it.
Met rickt and Jeff at an rcu ride day, they especially Ricky was one of the most down to earth people I have ever met, no ego what so ever, met bigger egos at school boy meeting,,,, top bloke 👍
Emig is one of the most approachable guys in the sport. Talked to him at the LL qualifier in Tyler and he was just a natural. Took time to talk about the 300 he was racing and we talked about his upcoming announcing gig. He's got a cool setup in his mini van. He smoked the O 50 and O 40 classes as well.
Always liked Jeff. Was one of my favorite riders and had so many fans because there was a period people were tired of seeing McGrath win (even though his wins were well deserved) and Jeff was the only one who seemed to be able to steal the win from him. Like Jeff was the only answer to McGrath's dominance. The fact he went through and answered all those messages of support on social media tells exactly how Jeff Emig is truly a good guy.
Really interesting how Emig protects RC. Emig shared about the article and how he needed to stop caring about what the athletes think to become better. RC has not done this and he still does not share what he really thinks…which is the real reason he gets all the hate!
My issue with Ricky is he has a hard time talking, he is constantly making mistakes. I like James and Jeff. Ricky is the goat at riding but not announcing
Emig did great as an announcer in my opinion. I do love the Bubba and Ricky duo though. I feel like every multi champion should get their time to announce a couple years, then move on. The generations coming up will watch more when the hero of their era announces. Next, I think Villo and Dungey could do it.
“These guys are the best in the business. It’s hard to come through the pack when you’re racing the best guys in the business. Did I tell you, these guys are the best in the business? It’s like watching poetry in motion.” This over and over again plus him stuttering and tripping over his words constantly. It drives me insane. Feld has to know this isn’t good. Right?!?!
Fro-Daddy...man, how crazy this episode is.....seriously, you are one of the greats.... I even encountered you once in Vegas (parking structure) you were totally cool and involved with our interaction, I didn't ask for an autograph or pic but we had a moment, I told you I was a fan and have always looked up to your style and success in racing. Anyway, I also stood in line at one of the hotels in Vegas for a breakfast Buffet and bumped into Ricky....another awesome encounter (an one of my heroes). I've also bumped into one other famous rider that was a total ass (no need to mention a name and spread hate on someone if they were just having a bad moment). I'm a fan of super cross and motocross,.... a huge fan... wish everyone was as cool and humble as yourself and Ricky! I hate the trolls! Respect! You are a class act!!
My kids grew up with us taking them to the track watching McGrath, Emig , RC . And James Stewart and all the changing of the guard cool time to watch racing , I dont know how anyone could hate on Ricky he gave it all every race he was in it was crazy watch someone ride on the edge like he did . Also have to mention Doug Henry, larroco .lusk , albertine windham it was a great time to be a fan .
The problem with the SX broadcast is the director and the structure. For example, when Will has something about her conversation with so-and-so’s mechanic. Or when they cut away from a battle to show the leader cross the finish line.
They also need more cameras trackside. Those long shots from up in the stadium have got to go. Their solution was to put those stupid pointers that follow the rider around.
There was a lot of criticism of Jeff and Ralph when they took over from David Bailey and Art Eckman. People were brutal about Jeff when he first went into the booth. To his credit, he took the criticism in the best light and worked to be a fantastic announcer. Ricky is trying to do the same thing. Pretty much, the new team will catch crap from fans of the last broadcast team.
I love hearing every thought from Ricky and James, those guys are so smart and so talented and understand dirt bikes and bike set up so well that just listening to them talk is all learning for me every broadcast , who better to learn from, besides Eli lol
James and Ricky was the best decision they've made, they bounce off each other really well. I've always liked Emig and Langston as well in outdoor. Emig tends to toot his own horn alittle much but can't blame him, but all in all they all do really well. DB as well, and Weege.
I have heard a few people say that Emig brings hisself into the broadcast too much and he toots his own horn. What i don't get is to what they are comparing that to. Its the job of the analyst to use their *PERSONAL EXPERIENCE* as examples, and to relate to the audience what a specific racer may be thinking, attempting, and strategizing, among other things that require his own knowledge as a 4 time AMA national champion. I loved that he always would inform the audience who had the fastest lap the last lap, or who were the top 3 on the previous lap, and don't know why others don't use that as a tool. Its very informative and helps engage the audience.
@@dougdickason I said I don't blame him cause I totally get that, and understand it. But yes compared to the other Champions he talks himself up more often.
@@Slipvayne1 im sorry that you felt i was being hard on you moreso than what was needed and i may have come across that way, because i have heard others say similar things maybe. That's his job. Ricky brings up his battles with Chad and James quite often and always says he would rather be behind them than in front of them during the early periods of the race. Also i dont know how many times Ricky talks like James was so much faster than him, and i know hes trying to appear humble but thats not the truth. James was faster usually in SX because he was great in the whoops and in moto Ricky had James covered pretty well. But Ricky is going to have people thinking he wasn't as great as James when he was. I hear Troy Aikman bring up battles with the 49'ers in NFC Championship games, and heard Bill Russell talk often about how he would try to guard Wilt Chamberlain and when players today block shots they show off by swatting it 20 rows out of bounds and back to the other team(and some might call this tooting his own horn) but that he would try to block the ball and tap it to himself so he could get the ball moving for his team.
I have a lot of respect for Jeff, I watched all the nationals back in the day and he was just learning to control "you know," He dropped a ton of them and look at him now. Kuddos.
Ricky had improved tremendously in the booth since he started, but the best SX broadcast booth was Ralph and Emig. Bring them back and add RC as the broadcaster he is now and it would be awesome
I started racing motocross in the mid seventies, I have watched Roger D Marty Smith, Bob Hannah, Jeff Ward, Ricky was the smoothest rider I have ever watched.
I love Ricky in the booth. He has been doing it since I started following the sport again so I guess it’s all I know but I’d miss him if he wasn’t doing it anymore. Knowledgeable, passionate, entertaining and generally seems like a good dude. Sure he stumbles his words occasionally and sometimes says a different word to what he means but that isn’t an issue to me.
Could you imagine just letting the guys be guys on a broadcast, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Jeff Emig, Chad Reed, K-Dub. What an Epic broadcast that would be. The Fans would go nuts.
I think a lot of it is the fact that Ricky hasn’t raced in this era, fuel injected four strokes and he is given the gold card anywhere he goes. The Dude deserves respect. He’s the goat. He’s earned that. ✊
I never got the hate for Ralph. He kept it exciting. Emig and Ralph were great together. Ricky was always my favorite rider and was great trackside. He falls flat in the booth though. He seems like hes trying too hard and ends up repeating himself over and over and over and over. "If you're cooper webb" "inside outside inside outside". He jsut needs time to be comfortable. And the NBC guy is terrible, clueless about the sport, definitely not a moto guy
Yeah because we need more Australian broadcasters simply because we have 2 Aussies who are dominating the sport. Get used to it for a long time to come.😅😅😉🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I met and took a pic with Jeff in 2006 at the Vegas Supercross final. I should mention he was talking to 2 hot chics 😅 and so I waited and then asked. He was the coolest and was so chill. 👍👍
I love this sport because all the commenters in the comment section seem to be on a first name basis with all the riders, former riders and broadcasters. That says something.
People are never happy and the better the TV coverage, broadcasting, and access gets, the worse people will trash talk it and say how the previous Era that they used to trash was so much better. In short, people are awful.
Being the young kid who was beating up on an aging McGrath prob started it. Then this young guy came along who was anointed "the future" and massively pushed bc he looked different, and Ricky just continuously took dump after dump on him for the title. Ricky lost some battles, but almost every year he win the war. Nonetheless father time is still undefeated, and his numbers speak for themselves. He dominated super and moto, and did it against a guy w huge financial backing, a massive team, better equipment, and the support of the series.
Ricky seems to have a nervous energy when he is in the booth, it fragments his speech, he can't find the right words, stumbles. I have had this issue in public speaking until i could calm down and just be myself. If he could forget that he was on tv and just hanging with some friends, I bet he would be awesome. He does have good insight from experience.
You want to know why people criticize Ricky? Because they have nothing else to do in life but bitch about....ANYTHING and also they've never amounted to a damn thing in life. Ricky's done an admirable job at announcing, and he should totally keep doing it!
I think Ricky was hard on Sexton because he knows how good he can be and thus reminds him of himself.. and subconsciously he treats him like he would himself.. always holding himself to a higher level of criticism .. (just a guess) but sure seems that way to me..
Loved Emig on the broadcast, but time marches on. I remember haters talking about how "horrible" he was because he struggled at times, and I would vehemently defend Emig because he overcame so much. As far as RC, people are just haters because they are jealous. He is great, and when he and JS are together it's pretty cool. It would be cool to have Emig and RC together, the different perspectives from the different eras would be great.
I see so many people hate on Ricky in the booth but I don't get it I think he does fine and certainly knows what he's talking about. It's usually people like Leigh Diffy who are saying Justin Anderson and dumb things like that
Ricky's perspective is great but early on..... "He's got a lot of wood to chop..." and "He's off to the races....". Yeah, it was a little rough. But now he's doing great. Hope they keep JS in the booth with him. They are fantastic together.
Im a Ricky fan but I miss Jeff calling it. Ricky is ALWAYS on Roczen and Jetts jock. He BS’s his like for Tomac. And yes I am a Roczen and Jett fan too.
Daniel Blair and fro would make an awesome combo. And also they need to bring back that black dude from a couple years back. He was the life of the party
Emig was great in the booth....i was gonna race supercross only back when bradshaw was battling with mcgrath i figured damon and jeremy i d fit in about the number plate end of year that would be me jeff an RC fighting for that # 4 plate thanks Rick....RC got it hands down...peace R K cant we just all get along...
The hate for Rickey came from the blank stare moments when he wouldn’t catch a great opportunity to weigh in. And just the face that he wouldn’t just unload his knowledge. Like he was holding back or scared to say something negative or describe what a ride did right or wrong. It took some time but I don’t think he catches near as much as before.
Bob Hurricane Hannah still my favorite. The things he did. Dallas Ga, 1977, 500/125 National, Burnt Hickory, epic track, Marty Smith the man, Hannah down in first corner, broke clutch, last to first twenty minutes forty five minute motos old school, Smith was done. Second moto, back and forth, Hannah pulled away. Smith done. You should have seen what he did, bouncin' off shit, wide open, yz400....Unadilla MXDN, mud 125 finished third to win, unreal.
The only problem Chase has is, Honda gave him a CR that’s has a front end problem. Why do you think Ken left Honda. If you look back, the CR had the same problem when Ken was there and Honda would not make the changes that Ken asked for. They finally decided to listen to Chase and they made some big changes to the CR. That’s why Chase has been doing so good, the last few races. You guys should do a detailed video on this subject.

It would be cool to have Emig and RC together, the different perspectives from the different eras would be great.
I see so many people hate on Ricky in the booth but I don't get it I think he does fine and certainly knows what he's talking about. It's usually people like Leigh Diffy who are saying Justin Anderson and dumb things like that
Ralph was the best announcer in supercross 100%
He is doing a great job announcing flat track. Ricky is the GOAT, but dude has a speech problem.
With them both in the booth not one person has to have all the work load when you have 2 greats with an insight into the sport it becomes a team thing
Ricky is the Man. Always has been aways will be. Ricky is real.
Ricky's perspective is great but early on..... "He's got a lot of wood to chop..." and "He's off to the races....". Yeah, it was a little rough. But now he's doing great. Hope they keep JS in the booth with him. They are fantastic together.
I didn’t realize RC was getting so much hate. He isn’t a polished broadcaster, but I like him. I liked Emig also.
Ricky is super professional & so is Emig! Both are phenomenal announcers. I miss Emig in the broadcast booth. -NY
Hello.Emig! Great job! We miss Lynn Nickerson!
holy shit jeff i thought you chose to get out of announcing the races
emig stewart and carmichael would be awesome
no diffey!!
Im a Ricky fan but I miss Jeff calling it. Ricky is ALWAYS on Roczen and Jetts jock. He BS’s his like for Tomac. And yes I am a Roczen and Jett fan too.
RC can't put a sentence together & he is way too biased.
But he's RC, the goat so he gets a pass lol
@@CR250rSMITH Yup
Daniel Blair and fro would make an awesome combo. And also they need to bring back that black dude from a couple years back. He was the life of the party
I miss you on the broadcast 😢
It would be great to get emig back with Ricky and James!!! That would be amazing!!
Dang with JE, JS & RC. That would be a great combo.
Jeff is, a, great comunicator
i miss jeff and ralph. the new broadcast seems very fake
Ricky has definitely gotten better. I miss Langston for motocross. It's crazy to think they let him go because he wouldn't get the covid shot.
Emig is awesome. ‘Nuff said.
I like Emig. I like Carmicheal. I like James Stewart. I typically like all the retired riders and would prefer them to a Diffey type.
Forever 4 and 7 equals 47. Love this sport! 🇺🇲⚡😎👍
Didn’t even know there was a big issue with Sexton and Ricky. Where can I find out what happened?
