FAT the sandwich needed just a bit of fat and using the recipe from Full of plants would do that! Lets change the way you make a Plant based pork!

I find inspirations from you the SauceSquad and my constant hunt of social media to see what food is being made around the globe and how can I try to make it. Lets try to make some food and have fun!!
I have done this recipe a couple times....it's awesome. Today I made tacos with the mushrooms adding Mexican seasoning (cumin, garlic, oregano etc with a little smoked paprika).....baked it longer and skipped the pan saute at the end.....OMG.....SOOOOOO GOOD! Shredded taco meat perfection!!! Thanks Mark!!
I love your energy so much. Your sense of adventurous cooking and wonder at the results are so infectious. Keep up your fascinating work!
Aww that means a LOT!! Thank you soo much
Do you still watch Disney kids shows too?
I'm agree with you Gillian! Also I think he's amazing and he's doing an amazing job with all of these recipes!
This kind of mushroom is awesome, we do with that a version of a typical spanish dish, "angulas". Usually if you have a lot of money you may buy baby eels because is the main ingredient in this recipe. But the normal people buy frozen "angulas" that are made with crab sticks. The name of the mushroom version recipe is "Angulas del monte" and it has a very similar taste, but it's cheaper and vegan. Thanks for this recipe by the way! ☺️
I'm a mushroom farmer. Also vegan.
Regular oyster mushrooms shread even easier, because the caps naturally separate alongside the gills. Also because the gills are paper thin, they give very consistent results.
You can easily make then taste like fried bacon.
I know this video is old so maybe you won't read this comment. But have you messed around with semi-dehydrated mushrooms? Fro example for this recipe I think if you had dehidrated the Eryngii a little bit, maybe by 20 or 30%, they would thoughen up, acquire that rubbery texture and integrity, which not only gives them a crunch, but also makes them soak more liquid seasoning and makes them handle more cooking techniques.
You sir, are a wizard.
hahaha thank you!
I've made this a fair bit too - one thing I do differently, though, is that I fry the mushrooms initially before-hand.
Basically get a big, heavy, metal pan screaming hot, coat with a high-smokepoint oil, add the mushrooms, and toss them. Keeping them moving around, and cook until they become deeply browned and shrink by a lot. They'll start to smell really meaty after a while.
Then you can toss them with seasoning, and simmer in a marinade. The idea is to rehydrate them a bit, and get extra flavors into them while doing so. You don't want to go overboard on acid, though as that will make them more tough (if anything, a slightly basic marinade would be best - think a pinch of pickling lime).
Do you still put it in the oven?
yes! i came here to say exactly this. Pan frying on high until browned definitely gets me a great texture and taste, and its much quicker and easier than using the oven
im not even close to be a vegan / vegetarian ( i don't even really like vegetables ) , but i have found myself watching your channel for the past 6 or so months now .
I just love how excited he gets.
Maybe the universe is trying to tell you something ☺
The ooo Girl that meat is yummy, but you can also make some good stuff that doesn’t exactly taste like meat?
I hate when people dislike his videos. This dude is amazing. His demeanor is wonderful, he articulates perfectly, super relatable and his food looks delicious. Love this page! 🤟🏾👍🏾

Why is there 7 dislikes? What's not to like about a vegan BBQ pulled pork replacement? If you are only for the real thing look at it this way, he is leaving you more of the pork left at the market to fulfill your glutton ways! I'm not even vegan and i watch and enjoy all saucestache videos.
I've been trying out the synthetic meat side of things for a bit, I have a friend who won't eat meat so I have to create alternatives. The one thing I'm finding is that a lot of it is closer to chemistry than norrmal cooking :D
haha it really is... and honestly its more fun that way

It's always a pleasure to watch your vegan videos. Thank you.
Great video as always. a trick i learned to make food taste smokey is to take a piece of charcoal pour some oil on it and put a flame on it until it reacts. then put a lid on the coal and the food you need to be smoke and let it sit for a few minutes.
Ohh I've done something similar!! It works really well, but in my case it always tends to make the house a little smoky smelling for a bit!

Now u kno if you're by ya self and you take a bite of ya food and start clappin, You kno its good!!🤣 Love it!!
Yes! Hardcore carnivore here...I'm being persuaded. I came for new takes on classics with a (vegan) twist just to have some more fun in the kitchen and to appeal to a few dinner parties guests that abide by dietary restrictions. After this many fantastic videos, well, you all may have a new convert.
I love that this channel is presented purely with cooking skills, audience engagement, and not vegan dogma. I don't care if you are a vegan or why. You don't need to tell me. Just show me alternative recipes that I may love and I'll decide whether or not I'm on board.
Well done.
Add some nutritional yeast for some protein. And to thin out the marmite ads some boiling water and it should thin it down. You don’t need much.
I’m quite excited for this recipe.
The mushrooms themselves provide protein, they are considered the meat of the veggy world for a reason.
I'm not sure what that variety has off hand but about a cups worth has around 5g of protein for most mushrooms
SilvaDreams depending on the variety. This king oyster mushroom has just abort 2 grams in a half of a cup.
That looks really, really delicious. I also love the fact that it is not just made from some soy or wheat protein. Mushrooms are very underrated.
arnt a lot of the fake meat products mushroom based to some degree
I'm starting to grow gourmet mushrooms with my husband and we love watching your vids!!!!☺
Just tried this recipe. It IS wild how the mushrooms shreds up like meat. Also the spice blend really smells like BBQ sauce!! Anyone else tried this?
Omg by the time he adds the sauces my mouth is uncontrollably salivating
a deep fried pickle inside there would of taken it to the next level :D
I’m a big meat eater but this show is really cool and I really want to try some of these recipes. 👍🏻keep up the good work man.
yah im farthest from a vegan there is but man im become more tempted daily to try these
Wow! I made this for supper tonight and is this ever yummy! Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. Will definitely make again.
Love this! I have made Pulled Pork from Banana peels and it was so yummy!
Please tell me more. Banana peels? Did it taste seasoned?
Got any plans to try out plant-based jerky recipes?
I was going to try hen of the woods jerky this year. Suppusedly really good. Someone got my second one I was letting mature so wasn't able to
Ooh yeah! He should totally do that 😋
I use this method all the time man because of this video so thank you. :)
Absolutely love this! I will try it. I can't find jackfruit where I live but mushroom is everywhere.
You'll LOVE this!!! Thank you
I took this pulled "pork" idea, used another sauce recipe and made street tacos. So good! :) Thanks for showing us creative ways to make plant based meals!
You're always so positive. Thanks.
1) I have used and been inspired by your recipes , thank you 2) I just saw a recipe for vegan turkey from cabbage and I'm really curious how you would go about it 🤔😊🙏
_Full of Plants_ is like a mad vegan scientist 😄
I love that he claps to himself!! I bought these mushrooms, will try it!!
Man you have such a quality channel! This stuff deserves more views

Excellent!!! I love the section on making "fat"! I am learning so much from you...Thanks!
I’m not vegan / vegetarian (what have you) but I really wanna try some of the recipes. I wanna see how close they really do resemble their meat counterparts. You definitely make them look good!
I'm over here doing a happy dance just from the look of this❤
wooow I really want to try it!!
Ingenious! I'll have to try this! Thanks for sharing!
have a blessed holiday sauce stash love your videos brother
i'm going to give this a shot without the oil today, looks great!
This looks so delicious!
Sauce stache isn't V sauce's culinary Channel.
Goddamn.
Shredding the king oyster mushroom... Smart. I wouldn't have thought abt it.
I’ve seen these king oyster mushroom 🍄 used to make a plant based seared scollop.
i suggest to squeeze water out of mushroom after you shreded. it will give more meaty texture and absorb much more flavour
So excited to try this one. Jackfruit is so messy to prepare. This looks a lot easier. Yum!!!
Love wicked kitchen
Im from Memphis... and when you squirted that ketchup in there, my soul jumped out of my body for just a second. EKKK
Me too, also fellow Memphian
Side note: I love mushrooms and want to try this, minus the ketchup sauce.
Finally I made it🔥🔥🔥🤯
Well I'm super hungry now... that looked amazing my dude!
King oyster mushrooms have a fantastically meaty texture. It made perfect sense to me when I saw they are used to make vegan scallops, but pork? I am intrigued
Nice!
I've been doing this a lot! Great video man
Genius. I’d why I never thought of this making heo quay chay 🤦🏽♀️
You inspire me so much
🌴 Oink-Oink... meatless version!!! Vegan is awesome!
Omg I wish you had slapped some slaw up there too
Looks delicious
Tengo mucha FE gracias a Dios. Lástima que no tengo armás
Wish I could find king oyster mushrooms, but I might have to try this anyway. looks so yummy!
Kansas City native here 😁
I think if you bake it after you cook it in the oil you'll get nicer burn marks.
I love being early. Hello Mr. Sauce stache!
YES!! Hello!
It's rare that i am impressed however watching this certainly would make anyone say wow I need to ask - have you looked at the resource called gregs mushroom grower look for it on google
That looks *good*. And it should have a ton of umami too.
New subscriber, you’re recipes are amazing
Hello thank you for your video I cannot find the recipe on your site can you post the link please thank you so much and thanks for showing people how plants can taste better than animals
Great idea. Love it. Roomie is allergic to coconut, and alternative suggestions?
Honestly I think any plant milk would work but I would try to emulsify it with some oil to thicken anything else up... you could also use aquafaba mixed with a nut based milk to create the fat.
feels like we need more vegan people in the government, they are particularly good at selling stuff xD.
You know every vegan recipe video is like ''that is unbelievable'' ''I can' t describe it'' ''It got everything, the texture, the flavor, the bite''
But I salute you, the less slaughter the better.
It is kinda funny though.
xD
Im tryin out the BBQ style oyster mushroom tonight :)
My personal tip would be squash/pumpkin/zucchini blossoms, man if you fry or grill these things, it doesn't taste exactly as meat, but it has such a nice omami flavor it is definitely up there if not even better than your regular flavor from meat, it is a must try!
Ok, I can dig this! Mushrooms is the bomb!
wow how did i miss this episode?! score! extra sausacestache to watch
Ok could watched this, but all the bits in between that was too confusing so never again...that said my Mushroom version(4 years now) I use 3 types of mushrooms (and king was one)but not as complicated.... I do use a bbq sauce, thai coconut seasoning, Sun-dried tomatoes, plus well a caramel tasting RUM, I do use cheese sometimes for binding(vegan or not) and bits of Cauliflower and nuts at times plus seasoning...I finish it on the bbq with those thing black non stick bbq sheets, plus toasted buns. Haven't made it in years....
Im not a cook so please excuse a possible stupid question, but could you make like a huge amount of this, meal prep style, then store some in the fridge or something, then fry it another day or eat it cold or something, or would it go bad. Also could you do the same by freezing some
That looks delicious! Who knew a mushroom could do that.
Loving these meatless recipes would dried mushrooms work the same but this looks delicious 😋🤤
Looks amazing!! Just a reminder to toast those buns though! Lol
I’m gonna have to try this one very soon! Thanks for making it so easy to go vegan!
SAUCE STACHE!! YOU GOTTA TRY THE NEW TOFURKY TEMPEH BACON!! IT SERIOUSLY HAS THE SAME FLAVOR AS BACON!!
how have i only just now found this account? i have been missing out on so much
Can you make the banana leaf I believe it's called into battered fish. I know Its winter but sometimes I miss seafood
I’m sorry what is the red paste you used? I think you said “Marmite” where to buy please?
Hear you laughing evily in the background lol. You are genius!
Made it it was amazing
Looks sooooooooooo good 🤤!
I prefer to call it a bbq pulled mushroom sandwich, no need to compare it to pork
Another good “fat” is silken tofu
...Yeast extract is another term for MSG....
Not always. Yeast extract is sometimes simply the leftover of beer brewers yeast. It is treated and sold as an additive. It is very high in glutamate, but is not bonded with salt like msg.
What are the mushroom seasonings? I don't have them in the stores nearby, unfortunately.
maybe a Fish stick style Lion's Mane Mushroom or lion's mane fish steak? Heard that Lion's mane has a seafoodie like taste.
Where did you find the jumbo trumpet mushrooms?
It sounds like you’re saying “pooled pork” so it sounds really fancy. 😆
Mushrooms aren't plants, their fungi.
I have Gout and Marmite is bad for gout. Is there a sub, for marmite I can use?
You should try making pulled pork from spaghetti squash
Can’t get marmite. Can I use miso?
cant find the link for the mushroom seasoning.anyone help me find it?
you can't tell me that's not brisket
