What’s most surprising to me is the consistency of the painting. All the models seem to have the same amount of polish and are all the same colour and theme, it’s insane
That is definitely one of the best looking armies I've seen on the channel....we need to see the entire fleet in action against another massive force. That would be epic!!!!
@@DJROCKSTAZ I wouldn't mind the scenario or the setting...I just wanna see the destruction left in the wake of this massive hive fleet lol. I think we might need two or three protagonist groups to even stand a chance
cool, though heads up typhon wasn't a god! He was more akin to something like a titan, he's the son of Gaia and Tartarus, a titan of massive proportions. He's known as the father of all monsters! his head brushed the stars, as one arm stretched to the west and the other to the east. upon his many sprawling fingers lay the heads of innumerable dragons. And you named your fleet after it... very nice! 😂
It would be fun to see you play a Custodian Army and just see how long they can survive wave after wave. Just do 1,000 points and give the Custodes 6 CPs every turn to let them wail on the bugs and see how long it takes to be overwhelmed!
Clean Palette is indeed a thing. Shitty things tend to happen and when they do, when I can sit down and glue and paint something, it just cleans the head. Recently I started doing LED lights on my models and gotta tell you soldering works as well :D
I love the beach-like colours! My Bugbois are brown flesh with a black carapace with bright yellow highlights and a neon orange on the ridges just to provide that nice contrast
My favorite theory I've recently converted to is that the Necrons created them to clean the galaxy while they slept and didn't expect or anticipate rampant evolution and have completely lost control since the Nids left the galaxy. There are plenty of cases of Tyranid type creatures existing on planets in the galaxy well before the hive fleets arrived.
Been a fan of the Tyranids since 2nd ed. Back then I got a army deal and the mailman hated me for it, 2k points of metal models is not as light as it would be now lol. I mainly played others in 3rd ed and I had people forfeit due to the Lictors, people were terrified of those things. Now I mainly do solo play and I still love them :).
His paint job is exactly what i wanted to do but my skill level wasnt high enough to work with the white carapace so i opted for a black carapace resembling hive fleet ouroboris
Typhon was unfortunately not a sea god of any sorts in greek myth. The only association the name "Typhon" has to the ocean was that it was the name of 2 navy ships that served in World War II, so it adds up regardless. In greek myth, Typhon was a horrid snake-legged, winged and (sometimes) multi-headed monster that was among the most dangerous in the entire mythos, able to claim temporary victory against Zeus himself. Also being the husband of Echidna, the two would go on to birth most of the notable monsters seen in greek mythology, being credited as the father to notable monsters like Cerberus, Orthus, Hydra, Medusa, Scylla, Chimera and the Sphinx among others, the specific monsters depending on the account you're going with. So all in all, Typhon is a good name for a Tyranid Hive Fleet, whether it's referencing the battleship or the father of the most fierce and iconic monsters in any mythology.
Wow thanks for sharing. Isn't POSEIDON the water god? (without googling) Or was it NEPTUNE? I keep mixing up Greek mythology with whatever the other one is...
@@nimmha6708 Neptune was the Roman equivalent of the Greek Poseidon, who was the god of the sea, controlling over it's tides and winds alike. I might as well put alot of this knowledge on Greek mythology I have to good use. It was a childhood obsession of mine, learning about the myths going hand-in-hand with learning how to read for me (thank you, Wierd n' Wild Creatures).
My hobby budget I plan for the future by this way: 1. Collect money for a BIGGEST launch box of new Warhammer 40,000: 10th Edition. And for any new designed Tyranid miniatures, if it really will be. Because I almost completely missed the 2014 wave of Tyranid models. Because... 2. I will continue to buy any Oldhammer fantasy models and bits. For my very special Warhammer Age of Sigmar collection. I even sacrificed Tyranids for this. It's so cool, and fantasy on round bases is a brilliant idea with me forever. 3. What remains of the money I will go to the Leagues of Votann. I just have to support the good old crazy 40k against the Horse Heresy that is everywhere now.
Gorgeous Army, Hive Fleet Oceanus might be a better fit for the Water theme. Typhus was a god of volcanic forces and winds. I’d still love to play with this army.
Amazing army! Love the blue. And that huge tyrant. What's the colors of blue you used? Also totally agree with the Palette cleansing comment about what War40k does for the mind.
He probably confused Typhon with Triton. Typhon was basically Zeus' "Titan" rival for supremacy of the world. A last ditch effort from Gaia to overthrow her grandson.
@@reubenwittwer1721 It's been decades of research for me but I use the internet to find writers and stories from classical antiquity. Then I purchase and read the books. Think people like Ovid, Homer, Virgil, etc.

THIS!
Also only do melee nids (or at least only use melee attacks for the nids), as the swarm coming in after withering fire is always cenimatic
Custodes would do better if they hadn't got nerfed a bit ago.
You should root for the bugs in Starship Troopers, though. They're the ones being invaded.
You weren't supposed to?
The theme of my bugs are the original Xenomorphs from 1979 and they are a from the shadows of their world. Anyone who lands gets wiped out eventually.
Its impressive how coherent this army is
I like how the features are pushing the inclusion and gems of the game and hobby. Definetly agree it makes your brain a clean palette.

Very impressive army!
Couldn't stop listening hearing how passionate Cody was about the Tyranids, especially about the lore.
Being someone just now getting into Tyranids, seeing this beautiful force all fielded on the table gets me SO EXCITED to start expanding the force
love these showcases of people armies and why they love warhammer its awesome, keep it up
