That noise is Cliff raging on the bass. The perfect sound for a gigantic octopus cosmic god lol

Cliff is the distorted wah. He is also playing a "lead bass" behind the guitars with a lot of shredding involved

    "What was that noise"
That noise is cliff Burton (their bassist who died tragically in a bus accident on tour in Europe back in the 80s).. their best bassist imo.
You should check out cliff playing his solo "anesthesia pulling teeth" live in Chicago 1983. He was a fucking monster on the bass.

This is a Story of a man who wanted to PROVE Ktulu (they had to change the spelling) existed. So he got in to a boat on a Dark and fog/stormy night to go Look for him. Some times, when you go looking for Monsters, they just Might Find YOU ! Listen to the Music, Close your Eyes. You can see a man getting into a old small fishing boat on a dark-foggy-rainy night and going out to sea. Ktulu whips up a storm as he comes to surface and chases him. He flees back to shore amid chashing waves. Only to just make it back to shore where Ktulu retreats back to the deapths of the sea leaving the man shaken on the beach with a wrecked boat.

This piece is a Dave Mustaine composition. He likes those Moorish-sounding modes that we’ve come to associate with surf music and spy movie soundtracks. He picked up that love of those modes from Buck Dharma, lead guitarist of Blue Öyster Cult, whose live improvisations were a big inspiration for him.

Parts of it are definitely from Dave, the intro riff and a bit of the riffing in the 'verses', but to call it a Mustaine composition is a bit of a stretch. There are sections where it's clearly Hetfield's riff writing such as the section leading up to the guitar solo, and the approach to the soloing is Hammett all the way through, not to mention the rhythm section and the bass leads. Still, kudos to Mustaine for helping in the creation of this masterpiece

This is not a Dave composition. Yes he wrote a few chords but give me a break dude.

uh, no. If this was in anyway Mustaine related, it would have been pre released at about 8x speeded up. Just sayin'
