I remember singing Randy’s ‘Christmas Song for All Year Long’ for the wards at the local juvenile hall max unit some years ago. Hopeless people need God’s love so much. Phil Keaggy music has had an important place in my quiet times this year. The Bible comes to life through a lot of those old tunes. I think we were listening to a 1980 recording of ‘What a Day’ yesterday at home.

So glad God gifted us by giving you such a wonderful musical talent to use for his purpose.
I could tell you how much your music was a ministry to me, but I'd rather tell you how much your music has opened people in my life to Jesus.
In short, just one of many examples.
When I was in the military, once people knew I was a Christian, they treated me different, sorta stayed away from me.
I can remember so clearly listening to Time and someone said, "wait, you can listen to that kind of music"?
I mean, that guys got some pretty good leads, who's he?
I said well, thats Phil Keaggy, he's singing about the Lord.
And to make a long story short, he and many others became open to listening to the Gospel and eventually were saved.
Over and over I played you, Rez, Petra, Keith, Randy, Larry and others who played this sort of music for the Lord and 21 of the guys came to believe in Jesus that I knew and were directly effected by your music and others.
I don't think I ever at that time, realized simply having fun listening to your music that kept my own mind focused on God, that just by me playing it and others hearing it could in itself, make others comfortable enough around me to hear about Christ.
I played it for me, never thinking the music would break walls down and let them feel at home walking in so to speak and really wanting to hear your lyrics and then the Word of God.
    It was so amazing.
So many people were initially able to hear the gospel because they connected with your music.
Sometimes the hardest thing can be to get people even slightly interested in what the Word says, but your music made that part easy.
And alot of fun I might add
You'll find out one day just how many people your music helped bring to the Lord.
I really thank God for that and thank you.
And until the Lord calls you home, don't you ever stop playing.
    And that's an order.

This song was originally in the Billy Graham movie "Time to Run". My dad help promote the film in Baltimore MD and I have a vinyl of the soundtrack. Randy signed it for me a few years ago when we had him out to a concert!

I saw you in Marshall TX you apologized for the sound man who destroyed your show you said you weren't taking any money for the show. You completely redeemed yourself at Letourneau University a few years later. You played a solo show it was incredibly inspiring as a guitar player. Awesome show.
