Love this brother's music and humble spirit. I'm quite sure he could have been a big star in the secular music industry, but instead he chose to stay true to his convictions and serve the Lord. Awesome!
He’s famous enough even in “non Christian” circles. Don’t forget he did become an official “big star recording artist” with Glass Harp in the early 70s. I think they did a 3 album contract with Decca back then and played Carnegie Hall etc. They were considered to be a secular band even though Phil became a Christian during that time. Also throughout the years he’s played with tons Of other secular players on too many projects to count. He’s made his mark and has become what God intended. But anyone who really knows guitar, knows about Phil Keaggy. In my opinion he IS a big star and without a doubt one of the best guitarist of all time. His versatility is unmatched. To be able to do an easy listening type album then go to rock and blues as seamlessly as he does, isn’t easy. Also even now and for quite some time, they are playing his stuff on the spa channel. A secular station….. So I guess it depends what your definition of Big star is lol. I’ve driven 5 hours to see him play and would never do that for anyone else.
Thank you Phil for sharing with us budding guitar players. You are helping us all play better not to mention being refreshed and inspired by listening to you play. You are truly blessed.
I'll never forget seeing Phil in Vermont about 20 years ago, he was walking down the aisle one section over from where I was sitting, he was carrying his guitar and some other stuff, and the annointing on him was so strong my eyes started watering, then he started playing and it was over for me. I was overhwhelmed, in a good way
OMG❤ haven’t seen or heard anything about you in a long time. I wa at a Jesus Festival near Orlando in a cow pasture camping in a tent I gave my heart to the Lord that weekend. Hope to see more of you keep up the good work.
That was fun…. And so beautiful 🤩….lovely workspace….I’ve been a fan since your first concert in Selland Arena in Fresno….in around 1970….as you toured in support of the first Glass Harp album 💖…. I learned to do pinky swells from watching you ✨🙏💙
Many many years ago I saw you perform with Glass Harp opening for Traffic in Cleveland You guys were amazing and certainly would have achieved a wider mainstream following but there is no doubt that serving God is a more rewarding path. God bless .
I sure hope you continue to do lots of these kinds of videos Mr Keaggy. It’s fantastic to see what you’re up to and learning any tricks you’re willing to show!
Wow! It’s great to see and hear you and for you to share a little bit of what’s going on with you is so special! Thanks, and God Bless. This was a much needed Blessing.
My favorite part of this is when he throws in the "World of Mine" hook. Someday I would love for Phil to show in a video (I'd go for a personal lesson with him, myself) how he plays that line, and the rest of the song as well, that's one of my favorite songs of his. Because I've tried to pick it up by ear, but I don't think I've picked it up the same way he plays it. I don't even know if I play it correctly. I've searched the internet, I've never seen anyone attempt to tabulate that out.
Great glimpse of your setup. I was a chief studio and house engineer from the 1980s to 2010s. Nice to see some familiar gear. Always appreciated and admired your work. Music not just listen to but to worship The Lord with.
That last Emaj7-ish chord you played right at 6:41 - pretty sure that was in your tune “The Marionette” (except it was strummed from high to low strings). That’s one of my fav chords ever. It’s such a wonder to watch you play Phil - I’ve seen you live five times.
Love your stuff Phil since way back in 1976 just thought I’d mention one thing either your microphone is distorting or it cannot handle the amplified guitar. No big deal. I listen no matter what but I thought somebody should mention it to you. Lord bless you thank you for all the music and the direction in following Jesus .

No doubt. He's a man after Gods own Heart after all these Years .
You can't know God and go back

Thanks for sharing your talent and witness all these years Phil! You’re a great example of letting Christ shine through you!
Just found this channel and love it and thanks! God bless you!
Thanks for sharing, master Keaggy
Incredible!
I use a Fulltone OCD ver 1.4. Love it. Thankyou for sharing with us.
I need to just sit in your studio and listen to you play. That my friend would be amazing.
Beautiful work!
Great, thank you
Sweet stuff brother! Thanks for sharing! And I love my OCD and my Cali comp as well - great sounds!
Love me some PK in the morning 😊
How am I not subscrided to this channel!!! :(> Well, I've fixed that. Just a joy to watch you play, Phil. Loved that last chord :)> Blessings.
Years ago, I heard Phil play a rocker with a chorus of something like "The Lord will come to get you and that'll be it." Is it available anywhere?
I believe you're referencing the song 'Time'. One of his best, imo. Check out the version from 'How The West Was One' with the 2nd Chapter of Acts.
I love it!
Love it!
yes
I wish the audio was better on this. There is an annoying mic noise all throughout this.
The guitar work on this kinda reminds me of the 220 album.
The audio is a bit overdriven from the guitar. Its breaking up. Not all the time, just sometimes.

So George Harrison. This stuff lives inside Phil. I love it.
Yeah! Finally there’s one piece of gear Phil used that I also use! Too bad skill isn’t included with that gear… haha keep playing for Jesus Phil.
💗
Did you knew jimi hendrix?
