- Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe and his Nigerian Sound Makers band performing "Baby One Pound No Balance" (from the 1972 LP Uju Special) on his 1980s television programme.
This is what live band looks like, no computer support, just raw talent in display, the king lives on
Now I know who made Papa Osita Osadebe so very Special,,,,, The Guitarist.
He played his guitar himself earlier in career
This just an organized live band
Pure talent. No exaggeration! What we have today is just a bunch of artistes and not musician.
Bunch of quacks you would say... they are neither artists nor musicians.
You said so. I used to think that way once, but not anymore. Evey generation its ritual. Respect
Can you beat that genius of a guitarist !!!
and the drummer is so cool, what a band.
respect that guitarist
Continue to rest in peace. All the session men deserve to be awarded national awards. This is part of the Nigerian Heritage. Lead guitarist...I bow for you sir
I could watch this guys display their talent all day so amazing too good
@bellemskey NTA? Archive ke? Abeg... Most NTA stations have either erased or thrown away all of their tapes from the 1970s and 80s. If you sabi the kain waka wey I take find even these small ones wey I dey upload here, you go pity me!

@oronbaba Hahaha you make me laugh. I know its difficult to find live footage for Rex, but i know say no how no how, NTA to get archive on Rex, because he died in '71 and TV coverage had already grown by then. As for the Eddie Okonta and the others i rememeber watching them on TV in the 80s and 90s. And with the posts i see you posting here, i beliv your records of history is powerful, like Ur post on Oriental brothers and Fela. Abeg try your best my brother. God bless U.

Osadebe is one in a million. I wonder 🤔🤔 what that one pound 💷 is worth now. They used to call the 💰 money - 🍒 Red CoCoa. Very valuable currency.

Igbos were trying to work on one Nigeria then but today the hope of one Nigeria is lost.
