as a swede and someone who has lived in stockholm my entire life is always so refreshing to me to see the city that i know so well from another point off view. love the video so much.
I'm so glad you're getting to experience the charm, ambiance and beauty of these Baltic ports. When you get back to STOCKHOLM again, make sure to walk south across the bridge from Gamla Stan (Old Town) into Sodermalm where all the cool thrift and vintage stores are. [You can also get there by riding 2 stops south from Central Station to Slussen station (or one stop from Gamla Stan) on either the red or green lines.] On at least one of your port calls to STOCKHOLM, make sure to visit beautiful Djurgården island. You can get there on public tram line #7 from Central Station or via a quick ferry ride from Slussen. Besides being a truly picturesque place filled with parks and views of the city, Djurgården is also where the Vasa Museum is -- houses the actual huge ship Vasa that sunk on it's maiden voyage in 1628 and was later recovered preserved (by the water) and intact. On your next port call in COPENHAGEN, I suggest you cross the river - either by metro or by public ferry boat - and visit the "hippy" commune of Christiana. You won't be able to film it ("no photo"), but you should still experience it for yourself! Also on that side of the river is the famous Torvehallerne food market, which I think you'd enjoy. It's not just food, but also flowers, soaps, handmade goods, etc. And next time you're in OSLO, take the public tram ( Purple Line #12) to the amazing (and quite shocking) Vigelandsparken statue park. The tram ride alone will be worth it -- takes you on a nice tour of the city from central area downtown to the park. Continue to love the life you're living - and sharing with all of us.
thanks for such detailed recommendations!! i went to old town in this vlog and it was sooo lovely! I definitely will be going back, as well as going to a all the places you mentioned above😇
How cool that you were able to get off the ship...and for 2 days! Glad to hear you'll be returning because it seems like you barely scratched the surface! Gab is such a hoot...gotta love him!
The Vasa museum is very cool it is near the Abba museum as well which can also make for a fun time. Gamla Stan (old town) has a great town square area and a lot of neat cafes. Any boat out through the archipelago and stopping off at any of the small islands for lunch.
Just got off Explorer of the Seas in Miami and the ice show was amazing! The entire cast did an outstanding job in their Spirits of the Seasons performance. Hope to see more ships soon.
Great video. So glad you were able to get off the ship. Many years ago, we did a cruise from Stockholm, but spent a few days before the cruise and just loved the city. If you get off the ship another time and have a lot of time, you should visit the Vasa Museum with the ship. It's great. The details carvings on the ship are wonderful. The history of the ship is fascinated. The next time we go back, we'll defiantly will do the Ice Bar.
I agree with a boat tour in all of the cities you’ll visit. So much to see & hear about the culture. Great video. I’ll tell my friends that I went to Stockholm thanks to Jordan. Thanks again.
