    Good job and info Steve. Long time ago I glued a washer to the bottom outside corner of a flag, didn't help in the wind. I think your thinking mind never rests! They all look good there Steve. I at first thought it was a Ukraine Flag, but now I think it is Ireland.

      American and Canadian flags are easy for most but you put the UK , Australian and New Zealand flags up and it becomes a challenge 😉

    I think you got it going now! Just the weight of the PVC should help as well. I'm not going to guess other than it is part of the Commonwealth.
    Thanks Steve✌

    Cool idea on the flag . I need to replace my flag pole . It is one of the telescoping ones and every time the wind blows the thing partly colipases

    Good idea with the rotation but zip ties can deteriorate rapidly from the sun and weather and will become brittle and break. I would recommend some type of marine grade stainless steel wire or clamp (especially if you're near an ocean). You don't want those good looking flags with their free flowing, no twist design to succumb to a weak zip tie.

    • @SteveRobReviews
      @SteveRobReviews  Місяць тому

      Great point! I have gone two years on the ties and so far they outlast the flags as I buy new flags every 2 years. The ties are UV rated so they seem to be great for this and easy to change out. Cheers

      @@SteveRobReviews I'm guessing tail whip beats them up pretty good in that location. Every two years is pretty often and you buy the high dollar, fancy, UV resistant zip ties 😎. I wish everybody showed as much respect to their flags as you do yours.

    The flag of our American & Canadian Brothers In Australia. We are all joined together in a battle to take back our country's.
    Now... On my flags, I go INSIDE the top & bottom seams with a stiff piece of #14 copper wire, to stiffen the flag enough to stop what is called TAIL WHIP. As tail whip can happen even with a FREE ROTATING flag mount / attachment like you have.
    I have also used 1/8" nylon tubing, as used on a vehicle oil pressure guage. When using a copper wire, strip a 1/4" of the insulation off the end, fold it on itself to make it easy to slide into the seam. Stop a couple inches short and cut and fold the other end of the wire to keep it from poking thru the flag material after a while. If my flag is 5ft. I make my wire an inch or so shorter. If you do have to cut a slit in the seam to get the wire installed. Coat the nylon with some clear fingernail polish to keep the 1/4" or so slit from fraying. It works great for me, my flags last longer, don't beat themselves to death in high winds, and stops the tail whip issue.

    The Canada flag is an obvious choice. But what is the story behind you choosing to fly the Irish, U.S. and Australian flags? Some Irish blood?
    That looks like a good solution. Let us know how it works! I'm curious tho, if the zip ties will hold up. Seems like the rigid pvc will put more strain on them than when they were just holding fabric.

      Hi Sylvan
      The flags I fly at my camp I've flown are Canada , USA , Ireland, UK , New Zealand and Australia so far, but I plan on adding more countries in time. The flags I fly represent countries that all have simular beliefs and support each other thru thick and thin.
