Hi Roy. It was the cleanest way I could see of doing it and the end result works well. I've just been using it for an accurate depth of cut today and can report 100% success rate! Thanks for the feedback and for watching 👍🏽
Hello! I'm interested in an upgrade for a upright drill press for bowling balls. I cant currently afford a mill. If I could somehow upgrade my press to DRO that would help me drill oval thumbs without a mill. Do you have any suggestions?
Hi Altramese and thanks for the comment. When I have to be very accurate and repetitive in the drill press I will usually make up a jig to hold the work piece and this usually works well for me. So in your case you will need to drill an accurate hole set and a jig would be ideal. I have taken a look on UA-cam to see if someone has already done this and I found this video ua-cam.com/video/pUKhDByPy1E/v-deo.html Take a look as this is what you may need. It could be worth building a similar jig if you have many balls to do. I'm not sure about an oval hole you mention though. Anyway take a look at the video, hopefully it will give you some ideas, thanks for watching 👍🏽
Thanks for making this. I have the same unit 27 Dollars US. I've been afraid to cut the strip, glad to see it works.
Hi BRJR12341. Yes, no issues, just a little care and your good to go! Thanks for watching 👍🏽
Thanks for the video. Gives some good ideas how to fit my DRO to my pillar drill.
