Have you ever made a "poor man's gimbal"? Take a normal ballhead, attach the tripod collar to the ball head. Rotate the ball head 90 degrees sideways to portrait mode. Now, loosen your tripod collar JUST enough to be able to rotate the camera back to landscape. This of course, requires a lens with a collar, but it can work in a pinch. The downside is that the weight will no longer be centered on the tripod legs, and depending on the lens / body, you might hit the legs. Works in a pinch! I'm guessing that trick inspired this design!
The ball head looks like it’s on the small side. I was told by UA-cam University the bigger the ball head the better. But I guess being portable and cool looking is a good trade-off 😆
I hate printers, nothing but hassle. I'd rather just pay a pro company. Here's a video on printing companies I use ua-cam.com/video/2_3WWt9CjnQ/v-deo.html
Had to order it from AliExpress as I could not find any US options. Thanks for the recommendation. It works better than I imagined and it really holds the camera position when locked down.
That's pretty cool! Seems to be sold out galactically. Amazon doesn't know when they'll have them again, and B&H and Adorama both seem as though they've never heard of this product. I think this thing is way better than a standard gimbal or ball so I'm going to keep looking! Thanks MarcusPix!!
Hi Markus, i like your videos and have watched most of these. I appreciate if you make one video on table top sturdy tripods that can hold a full frame camera with a lens.
Hey Markus that’s a cool gimbal head. I will order one., Is that the new 300 2.8 gm? If so is it worth the 6k price tag. I have had one in my cart for a month.
I just looked for one and found it currently unavailable. I used your link first, then Neewer's. Same result. How weird is that. Seems really cool and useful, though. Thanks for sharing this find, Markus.
You can use anything. If you want something you just turn on and forget about for an hour or more, then maybe a VX981 camcorder or something like that. You can zoom in really close on stuff, audio input, flip screen etc ua-cam.com/video/JZ-ERztAd2M/v-deo.html
@@MarkusPix Thanks. I was thinking of getting a lumix g100d so I can use it to take photos as well. Would this work for close up video? What lens would you recommend? Thank you!
Yeah that could work. As for "close up lens" see if kit lens works first, if not, figure out what focal length you like best and then buy the fastest version, like a sigma 1.4 or something
@@MarkusPix Thanks again. I'm such a beginner that I don't understand what focal length is yet, but I'll look into that. I have just started having an interest in photography so looking forward to learning all about it!
First of all you are huge inspiration. Also a former Artist turn hobby photographer grew up in California now living in Switzerland. A question for you Markus, just wanna know what camera are you using for this video. It would be nice to know for any future videos you post.
What is most surprising here is that Markus owns a super telephoto lens. In the years I have been watching his videos I have never seen single photograph that was taken with more than a 100mm lens.
I like it, adding to wish list. Also spotted in the description: "this is a great lens not just because of its smooth motion" - lens should be corrected with head.
Thanks There is a possibility if new greàt series if topic Really interested for the smallest but still totally pro small video head To have a possibility for smooth pan with a slow speed , to start and stop without shaking With 200 lens..300 lens at least... (For any camera weight. 600gramm. For camera , 1100 gram for a lens70-200, 500 monitor) I'm still with Sachtler Ace M or XL Sachtler Ace M , dv4 But to be honest it is much less comfortable to pan really slow on air... With those then with Sachtler 12,15,18 Those feel mostly comfortable There is a number of Chinese tripods that shown as supposed to replace those heavy duty heads and legs Teris TS900tf 10 000$ Teris TS350cf Teris TS300 150 120 100 Tn6 Tsn6 Jiepai v18t But it is all heavy duty and another topic for a video First was. Anything lighter and compacter then ace m) for smooth video pan)
Perfect for astro motor mounts needing precise star alignment with your camera. Cuts down on a lot of weight so you don’t have to counter balance as much.
Hey Markus or anyone get to read this comment, can I do something for you like a logo for a price of a hard drive? I really need more storage to back things up o I can have space to continue to work on my craft to help me get back on track in life. If anyone reading this can offer me something, I will be really appreciated!

awesome tripod head... would you be willing to give it Away since their website says sold out as well as amazon and seems everywhere else..... hint hint lol
Not only cool but affordable. Thanks for sharing.
brilliant, thanks for showing
I love the freedom of articulation with that head! Awesome...

Lightweight and a gimbal? Ok, I;m sold
I'd have to compare, but I have to wonder if the same functionality can't be had by just using a regular ball head on a "loose" setting?
Thanks for making your reviews personal, informative, positive and fun.
My pleasure!
It does seem handy!
I love gadgets and so does Markus.
The ball head looks like it’s on the small side. I was told by UA-cam University the bigger the ball head the better. But I guess being portable and cool looking is a good trade-off 😆
Markus, do you use / have a photo quality printer? Might be something others would be interested in knowing about.
I hate printers, nothing but hassle. I'd rather just pay a pro company. Here's a video on printing companies I use ua-cam.com/video/2_3WWt9CjnQ/v-deo.html
@@MarkusPix I completely understand that about printers. Thank you.
Defaulting to imperial units like pounds, Markus is truly Americanized. 🇺🇸
Wtf is a gallon?
Thanks for presenting it, it looks beautiful in addition to be practical!
Had to order it from AliExpress as I could not find any US options. Thanks for the recommendation. It works better than I imagined and it really holds the camera position when locked down.
Cool stuff! Thanks for sharing.
Cool! Watching from the PHILIPPINES.
That would be great for star gazing too, eh?
Thanks for sharing
Super cool! Sold out just about everywhere, and I see why!
Anybody else go looking for one and see that theyre sold out everywhere? This video is only 1hr old so I know it wasnt Markus's fault.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I get mine from AliExpress.
Ali express has them
Very nice!
Thanks for the great info!
Anything similar but a video head?
I just picked up a K&H FH-01, compact and decent.

you are a freak...i wish i could drink coffee with you a few times a weeek.....you are the best......
great content...great info....love this channel
Thank you, Markus. 📸🌞
Cool looking thing lol
Good, but it's just good ballhead.
That's like saying a Ferrari is just a car.
@@MarkusPix , just a good car.
Nice system
Awesome
I photograph moving aviation as a hobby and that would be perfect. Definitely going to get one of those.
Thanks for sharing Markus.
Thanks for showing a sold out item
It wasn't sold out when the video launched 😄 They will restock again
But how would you set your levels. Seems good for wildlife photograph but maybe not good for landscape photography.
I have one and use on my monopod, looks a bit clumsy on a tripod.
Thank you so much for great video
Glad you enjoyed it!

£47 Amazon UK............I brought one. Thanks for the insight.
TY.
love the way you spelled the brand 😂🤪

If it locks up well when the ball is out to the side, that would be great for astrophotography.

Its the same camera I have been using for almost all UA-cam videos for the past 5 years The Sony RX100vii ua-cam.com/video/roL9kFYz6a4/v-deo.html
Am I wrong or does the know stop it from folding out to a perfect 90 degrees?
It goes 90 degrees
He had the top half knob on the wrong side.

I have 4 of them. I use them as table legs
Nice. I was hoping this would be one of the giveaways!
No, its just a ball head, and apparently without a tension adjust. Use of the gimbal name implies a mechanical balance of some sort.
I struggle with these, it just looks like a restricted ball head rather that a balanced gimbal
I am late to the party. I can not find it in stock anywhere!!!
What a neat little tripod head. Thanks Markus!!
instant buy. thanks

$41 at AliExpress!
Every time you show us something cool it is out of stock by the time I look for it.🤷♂️
Nice and small, but wouldn't really qualify as a gimbal for bird/wildlife.
