    Apparently Walter Röhrl, back in the day, used to sit in his hotel room, eyes closed, stop watch starting, going through the stages of the next day in his mind. Also apparently he timed himself - in his mind - very close to what he did end up with. That's insane. I think it was in an interview in a magazine a friend of mine subscribed to.

    • @wxx3
      @wxx3 4 роки тому +8

      Ronnie Peterson, 1972 Lotus F1 driver, could do the same, a timed lap of the Nürnburgring in his mind to within a few seconds of his 7 minute lap time.
      Makes one realize that no matter our driving skills, the best of the best, have talents that really separate them from everyone else.

      Problem is that most people online drive too fast cars in comparison with their skill level. Try drive relaxed first for a few rounds with an N300 car. Slowly progress speed and practice. Also, don’t push too hard. You will get there. Even with an n300 car you can go below 8:30min

    I've been doing a lap around the track every time I cannot sleep. I just close my eyes and try to follow every accel and brake points, curbstones, crests and compressions, bumps, everything I can remember. Awesome video!
    After reflecting on it, it Kind of reminds me of a Spongebob episode where he should pass the driving test and the drill instructor let's him do blindfolded laps. =)
