Honestly, the fact that the Chinese version even had some of the CN VAs take part in it actually makes it all the more meaningful, it's as though the characters themselves are saying these things, like "Thank you for meeting me" and "I'll see you again". The CN version hits so close to home because having the Archons tell me 'thank you for meeting me' really had me in tears. This is honestly the best version. I also love how they got the singer for White Night for this. XD
2:54 huhu you can hear the archons 😭 but Miao Jiang’s (Venti) melodic voice is overempowered and PengBo’s (Zhongli) deep distinct voice makes them what you can hear the most 😭 i can’t believe Venti and Zhongli’s voices together are harmonious. PengBo should sing often
That’s probably because it’s the original version. I speak Chinese and English pretty fluently and know a little bit of Japanese. From what I can tell, the Chinese version is the original language the lyrics were written in, while the others were mostly translations crammed into syllable counts. The Chinese version seems to be most natural in terms of pronunciation (specifically of the EMphasis vs emPHAsis and tone variety) as well as word flow. On the other hand, the English and Japanese versions have little phrases here there that are just like a little off / unnatural to a native speaker. That language translation quirk does make the other versions a little more awkward to listen to. (((I should point out, though, that this is actually just speculation based my understanding of the three languages, and I’m nowhere near native speaker level in Japanese.))) Also, knowing the Chinese VAs are part of the song also helps a ton to make it feel special. I don’t know if the other versions have their respective VAs take part, but I don’t think I’ve heard anything about that at least. Of course, at the end of the day, there are fantastic voices behind each one (I already knew of all three singers prior their respective collabs with Hoyo. (I know Jason Zhang also did the Chinese version of White Night.)) and the nostalgia factor behind all are equally potent.

I'm glad I'm finally listening to the CN version cuz 1) I play in CN (tryna learn mandarin) and 2) just generally prefer whatever language it's originally in. Though Jason Zhang hasn't crossed my Spotify yet, I love the CN VAs' singing voices. Ah just wish there was an easier way to watch the original livestream in CN cuz I don't have a bilibili account (and am trying to avoid it).
The thing is... I love Faouzia. She is probably my favorite Western singer and my jaw dropped when I saw she'd done a song for genshin. She did a fabulous job. That said, I've heard her own songs too many times and for some reason this one did not hit me like the ones she wrote. It's beautiful, yes, but I don't think it showed off the full range of her talent or the emotion she can channel through her voice. Anyways that said I do feel the CN version more. And while my bias is the KR dub for genshin I do tend to feel that the CN (naturally) is the most true to the heart of the game. It's no wonder this version hits different. It really is a masterpiece. (Just my random thoughts, sorry for the rambling)
I actually cannot express how genuinely criminaly underated this channel and video actually is and this world and community actually genuinely needs more people actually like you in this world and damm ❤😂🎉.
aside from cn VAs joining in with this song, i think it's also pretty cool that while the en and jp versions are in the same key, the chinese version is not

This is why you don't see as many JP VA working in fanwork in general, as their voices are technically owned by their agency, they cannot lend it out even as a personal hobby or favor
Now that explains. The english lyrics flow doesn't feel smooth to me. I think this is originally conceived from a chinese songwriting perspective then gets translated into English and perhaps other languages as well. There's a distinct difference between the english lyrics flow in this song compared to Robin's songs in HSR. Robin's english lyrics flow felt a whole lot better.
im still sad that they didnt make a KR version because its hard to translate this over 😭😭 but the English lyrics does have some decent parts going, there's a cover made by Ipan Ch. who used both English and JP best parts and it is amazing

It's probably because all the other anniversary songs were so good in Chinese. The other song was Paimon and archons singing to us about our journey.
