I truly love Charlie Daniels - he has and continues to inspire me to be a better guitar player - a better singer and to write songs I think are pretty good - Thank You Very Kindly, Cowboy - 🌹🐎🌹
My favorite boys. Toy/ Stevie. I don't ever remember seeing Toy perform w/o hat, He had a beautiful head of hair. At :56 sec side-by-side and then Toy at about 1:00 in Toy moves over for a better look at Stevie playing that old beat- up Fender named #1 aka 1st Wife, looking like a pirate. His bassist, Tommy Shannon, told how they were in a mall walking (these were not stage costumes, but the way Stevie dressed), he asked Stevie "Do you ever feel like people are staring?" Stevie says "Well, yes". They are. Love this video, a treasure, see Toy at 3:40 invited by Charlie to take the stage who, along with Charlie hands it off to Stevie. Guitars not loud enough, let 'em shout scream and cry. Turn them loose. So many of these gifted performers are not with us, dedicate this to them. Lost Stevie 1990, he left with his boots on, just after a jaw- dropping performance it was said. Then Toy left us in 1993. Charlie in 2020.
+The Brave & The Awesome Call me the Breeze- shows up on my computer as a separate section with The Charlie Daniels Band & Lynyrd Skynyrd-by Volunteer Jam CDB
+Anna Faye Morris Hite I saw a video of the 1979 Volunteer Jam when they played it, but I'm talking about the performance of it from the1987 Volunteer Jam, when they played it with SRV. A low quality audio recording of it can be heard over here: www.panicstream.net/vault/stevie-ray-vaughan-jams/
Cool indeed! "I can, I will". Not sure if you heard that song by Rick Cua. That's when he went into christian rock. A lot of great talent on that stage.
I enjoyed listening to and reading from the Jam Sessions of past anniversaries! Pleas let me know when the next one is scheduled and where so I can go! I look forward to being a part of it!
Gary Chapman (former CMT talk show host and Amy Grant's former husband, the first time I saw this my mouth literally dropped open because I did NOT know Gary Chapman even sang plus he looks like such a gritty rocker here and on his talk show he looks like Mr. Wholesome. LOL! He is AMAZING! what a voice! Seeing most of the living members of Skynyrd, a very young SRV, Rick Cua, Toy Caldwell, just amazing all jamming so great together!
Stevie Rae Vaughn! The greatest rock/blues guitarist ever in my opinion
By far some of the greatest on one stage. Thanks for sharing!!!
