- Опубліковано 12 сер 2023
- Today I went for a quick shop at B&T Food in Kitchener! It's a small Vietnamese market with a lot of vegetarian and vegan goods (it was the first place I had found vegan fish sauce before Coven was around)
Stay tuned for the mi quang recipe and video :)

♡ Where do you live? - Waterloo, Ontario
♡ Why do you refer to your baby as they/them? Because we don't share Bean's face, sex or name online.
♡ Where do you find mushroom broth powder? - Asian grocery stores have it. I show what the packaging looks like in this video: • Vegan Asian Grocery Ha...
♡ Why are you always wearing gloves? - I have eczema, and atopic dermatitis on my hands, so I wear gloves because of food safety and so they get less irritated.
♡ Is UA-cam your full time job? - Yes! Although I do freelance on the side to pay them bills.

❧ Epidemic Sound
I enjoyed the outside, listening to rain, grocery haul. Just saw that I missed your video from 8 days ago! That’ll be for tomorrow’s tea break.👏🤩
I love ur grocery hauls so much, and I am learning so much more about vietnamese ingredients because of you. Thank you so much❤❤❤❤
In Wichita, Kansas, we have a large Vietnamese population. And a huge Vietnamese market. It’s called “Thai Binh” and has a smaller sister store “Thai An”. They have EEEVERYTHING! 😂
I've always loved your grocery hauls!
I love the grocery hauls! In the future, could you explain a little more about the special ingredients? Like how does fish mint taste compared to regular mint? I also had to look up your transcript for the spelling of cha lua chay so I could look it up. I learn so much! Thanks for all you do, Lisa!
😅😅 i forget that they’re considered special because they are very common for me when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. But i will elaborate more next time!
Fish mint tastes exactly how it sounds actually! A weird stinky but minty and almost has an acidic bite at the end!
Looks very tasty! I enjoyed the rain actually, much more relaxing than typical youtube music 😂
Here to support! ❤
Looking forward to the finished product.
Ooh, that sounds delicious!! I am also extremely intrigued by the giant cracker!! Also also, the colour of your tank top looks really nice on you! :) Always here for your chaotic energy, friend! :D
Lol always here for ur particular brand of chaotic friend 😂
Looks Good! I'm May! 🥗🍜🍱😊
love viet culture
I’m early 🎉
I appreciate you
do u ever do moon cake festival blog?
For the ingredient that was actually 8 dollars that you gave to Bean as a snack - what is it?
Cha lua chay! It’s like a vietnamese sausage that’s usually pork based but its soy based in this ine
@@Thevietvegan Awesome! Thank you! I grew up in KW, but haven't lived there for a good 15 years now. Looking forward to seeing what vegan resources you discover in the area :)
thank you so much, so interesting hearing and learning about this.
can i ask some questions though?
does the annatto seed give any flavor or is it just for coloring? and item you showed after that, at around 3 minute mark, what is this? i didn't catch it so i couldn't search for it and i can't read the label. can you tell me the name and what it is?
It's cha lua chay! I've been doing captions on new videos for the last few months if you find that helpful esp for the Vietnamese names of things!
And the Annatto seed is mainly just colouring, very little flavour. It's actually what makes American dairy cheddar yellow (one of my friends is allergic to annatto so she can't eat it)
@@Thevietvegan Thank you so incredibly much. Sorry I didn't think of checking the captions! I will remember for next time. And thank you so much for the information. How interesting that they use annatto seeds for coloring american dairy cheddar, I didn't know that. Thank you so much for your kindness! ♥
If only we were friends, and I lived nearby, and you invited me over to taste test.
I can't believe you were able to buy all those items for $48 😮
Smaller Viet markets are usually much more affordable than the big box Asian stores! Produce especially in Asian markets are typically cheaper (although I did have to compost like half the herbs because they were going off even though I had just bought em)
You do not look well 😢
What makes you say that?
I've always loved your grocery hauls. Thanks 💜
