Love the horn sound in the first video in the distant before rolling through the crossing. I wish I knew what kind of horn sound that was. Thanks for the video.
it would be nice if they could speed up the train from DC to Richmond like that at least up to 110 , make it the south end of the NEC then speed up from Richmond on down to Charlotte
Remember, when it comes to diesel powered passenger trains, nothing on this good earth will come close in terms of speed to a british made hst 125,that still hold down the world speed record of 148 mph
1:52 2 Genesis units + 9 carriages (276m/905ft) thunders by in 7 seconds: 140km/h (87mph) Is it only a thought of mine or it is insane to go through level crossings at that pace?
There are dozens of crossings in the US where Amtrak passes through at 110MPH on the Michigan line and Empire line. And the Southwest Chief as well as the Surfliners have a bunch of crossings where they pass through at 90. These crossings are statistically no more dangerous then slower crossings. They are perfectly safe if people don’t drive around or through the gates. The same way we have traffic lights on highways with 60 mph speed limits. Obey the signals and people will stay safe
I've always had an appreciation for trains since I was a kid.
I'm more of an aviation guy but these giant, powerful genesis p42 behemoths are drawing me closer to trains
Same here
Absolutely fabulous to watch
Thanks 👍
Every one of these fly by's is great. It must have been fun to be there.
Yes it was!

Great video, well done!
I recognize some of those crossings . That second rail was the latest addition from Albany to Schenectady
Imagine you live in the house next to the tracks. At night while in bed, I feel that rush of wind for a few seconds. Talk about breathtaking.
Great videos! Lincoln Avenue is always a great spot, I prefer Staats Island Road myself!

Thanks for the comment. To answer your question, they do not run in the route I film in. Only viewliners and Amfleets are really out here.

Nice but where are those faster electric Acela highspeed trains , they are going faster then these noisy dieslpowerd and airpolution machines !!
:)
I'd hate for someone to cross paths with one of those trains
