Love that food. Caldo and pulpo are my favourites. Never stopped in Palas. Puente de Peregrino albergue in Ligonde was my stop then straight thru Palas next day. In ligonde we got free coffee, movie, popcorn, prayer meeting, dinner, singsong entertainment and a substantial breakfast and it was donativo. Absolutely great albergue

I felt as you did on this stretch. There is definitely an etiquette to be learned. I stayed in private quarters, but it was bad even on the trails. I had to constantly challenge myself to be gracious about it.

The santos are proud of you and I believe rewarded you for embracing the uncomfortable parts of your pilgrimage. Also, the music at 4:00ish was spot-on appropriate with the visuals.
The first time I walked the Camino I walked straight past the ruins but in January I went in there and I'm so glad I did. It was misty and I felt like I was in an ancient world and it was very spiritual. It's one of the most important places on the Camino but most people walk straight past it. I'm so glad you went in there.
Are these ruins on the main road, or are they on a alternative road ? I walked the camino twice, but I don't remember them.... where are they exactly ? Planning to see them on my third camino (this year July/August - I love the hot temperatures)
@@willywortel1452 Yes, they are just a short walk from the main route-probably a couple hundred meters. As you are going up the big hill of the main route, pay attention to signage off to the left. Google “Castromaior ruins” for more info on exact location. Buen Camino! 👣

This is not to blame or make excuses for anyone but there are some people who are naturally inconsiderate and self-centred as well as unnaturally lacking in self-awareness so they do not learn quickly about these things (I mean being considerate to others). My hope and prayer is that they/we all learn to overcome such weaknesses on the Camino (0:13-1:21) Wow! You are really brave and adventurous to climb up there (4:05-7:03) But then you wouldn't have done this pilgrimage if you weren't 🥰 Imho the view was worth it. Buen cow-mino! hahaha (8:28-8:29) WOW! I'd love some of that squid (11:09) Thanks very much for the pep talk at the end. It puts things in their proper perspective which, I guess, is what the Camino is all about. Stay healthy and safe. Yikes! How truly frustrating! Luckily, my ear plugs worked a treat and I did not have to suffer the morning frivolity. All part of the experience, I guess!
It’s only natural to wonder! 😊 I would say, yes. In seeking to be closer to Him on my Camino, I found Him everywhere. The truth is He is always close-I just needed to make it a point to listen with more awareness, to be still, to see Him in everything and everyone, and to seek him daily. So, yes. I still find him in my daily prayers and I am grateful for my time with him along The Way. 🙏👣
@@IllGetThere I walked it 3 times and my faith in people increased but i wasnt ready until 6 months ago and now he is everywhere. Im so glad he was with you, your joy comes across in the videos
Agreed, especially since there were also signs saying it is a quiet zone. Admittedly, I was pretty loud at the beginning of my journey, as most of us were all new in St. Jean. We all learned. It’s part of the process. 👣
